Chapter 035: Relationship

Haru opened his eyes slowly as he stared up at his ceiling still having his dream in his head. He reached over to turn on his lamp but the light wouldn't brighten up the room. He sat up and noticed how his alarm clock wasn't displaying anything on its screen.

"Wait a second! Did we lose power?!"

He jumped out of bed and opened his blinds. The sun was high up in the sky and that meant he was late for school.

"Ah man! I need to get ready!"

He quickly threw on his uniform and ran out of his apartment. The city was as bustling as ever and he ran down the streets to try and reach his school so he wouldn't be anymore later then he already was. He looked at his watch as it read 9:46AM.

"At this rate I'm gonna be 3 hours late almost!"

He looked around in a panic and saw kids with skateboards and quickly rushed towards them.

"C-Can I borrow your skateboard?!"

"Depends, how much money do you have?"

The kids turned to each other and smirked.

"I-I'll give you 1,000 yen so just let me borrow them please!"

"Okay, but be sure to bring them to the park by 8. That's our curfew since our parents like us staying out late."

"Thank you!"

He took the kid's skateboard and started going down the streets trying to avoid everyone as he passed. There was a sharp turn coming ahead so he held his hand out and grabbed onto a street lamp and swung around. He was almost at the station he had to get to so he sped up to make sure he wouldn't miss the train. Everyone around him was yelling to watch where he was going and he almost hit a few people.

'Guess I should expect this many people to be out, it is Tokyo after all…'

He reached the station and managed to get onto the train before it departed. After the ride he got off and went back onto the skateboard. He continued to gain speed and eventually lost control and fell off and scraped himself. It tore his uniform a bit but the scrape didn't hurt that much so he continued on his way. He eventually reached his school at 10:13AM and went to his class.

"Haaah, I made it…"

He sat at his desk completely out of breath and his teacher walked over to him.

"Mr.Haru, do you have the work I assigned to you?"

"Hm? Oh yeah, I did it last night."

He reached into his bag and started to search for the papers he needed to hand in. He started panicking when he couldn't find the papers.

'Wait! Could I have lost them when I fell?!'

"Well Mr.Haru?"

"N-No, I don't ha-"

The classroom door opened and a girl who was a first year walked in.

"I-Is there a Haru Sato in this class?"

He stood up and looked at the girl. She was amazingly cute and was exactly Haru's type.

"Y-Yeah, I'm H-Haru."

"I found this and thought you'd need it so…"

She took the papers Haru had lost out of her bag and held it towards him.

"Ah you found them! Thank you so much!"

"It's no problem."

She gave a sweet smile which made Haru blush in return. He then turned around and handed the papers to his teacher. He turned around again to see that the girl had already left and made a saddened face.

"Come on man, you couldn't have fallen in love just like that!"

"Hey!"

Haru was eating lunch with his friends as they were making fun of him for possibly falling for the mysterious first year.

"You turned so red that you probably freaked her out."

"Hey, it's just that she's exactly my type…"

Haru started turning red again after thinking about her again. His friends burst out laughing and one of them grabbed him by the shoulder.

"Hey, it's your love life not ours. Do what you want man. We'll always be by your side."

"T-Thanks…But first I would need to find her…And confirm my feelings…"

"Well, while it's lunch go look around the first year classes, maybe you'll see her."

"It would help if I knew her name…Could you get info on her or something? Nothing to serious! Just her name and class would be fine…"

"No problem, I do run the biggest information network in the school!"

Haru's friend, Akira Okazaki, had the largest intelligence network in the school and people often went to him to buy information off of him.

"Alright! See you later then!"

"Yeah, it's on the house!"

"Thanks!"

Haru started walking around the first year classrooms to try and find the girl who he fell for.

'Nowhere…I guess she doesn't eat in her class…Maybe Akira found something out…'

He was getting a drink from a vending machine and started to drink it. Lunch was going to be over soon so he started heading back to his class. He reached his class as soon as the bell rang and continued the day as normal. He went to the roof of the school to ask if Akira had found anything out yet but he was still gathering intel. Haru left the school and started heading back home. He was feeling a lot more tired then normal so he decided he'd take a nap when he got home. He reached the front door of his apartment when he noticed someone familiar standing in the doorway of the house next to his.

"Eh…? Eh?! You're my neighbor?!"

The girl smiled at Haru and walked over to him while Haru was turning super red the closer she got.

"Yep, I just moved here a few days ago. And I take it based on what you said that you live here?"

"Ah…Y-Yeah…"

"Can I come in?"

"Eh…? S-Sure, it may be a little messy but it's comfortable…"

He unlocked the door and brought her inside. She looked at the pictures he had hung up and sat down at his table.

"S-So…What's your name?"

"Chika Nakai, it's a pleasure to meet you."

"H-Haru Sato! It's a pleasiur-Ow, bit my tongue…"

She gave a small giggle and he poured the tea he had made. He sat at the other side of the table and tried thinking of conversation topics but none came to mind.

"Is your arm okay?"

"Huh? O-Oh yeah, it's fine…It was only a scrape…"

"Do you happen to live alone?"

"Uh, yeah…Yeah I'm alone…Are you alone?"

"Yes, I am."

They talked for a while and she even stayed over for dinner. She was incredibly kind and it felt like they were newlyweds, they cooked with each other, cleaned up afterwards together and even watched a movie together before she left to go back to her apartment.

"…Have to marry her. …Wait a second why does it feel like I'm forgetting something…? Ah! The skateboard!"

He looked at his watch and saw how it was 6:57PM. He quickly grabbed the skateboard and rode it to the park the kids mentioned as fast as he possibly could.
