Higura was once again in the Library with Tsugumi and Higura had brought a weapon that would work to his advantage.
"S-So why do have that?"
She was pointing at the weapon Higura had brought and was making a petrified face while doing so.
"To speed up your learning. What? Are you scared of a couple bugs?"
"You know that I am!"
"Haha! You revealed your fear and I'm going to use it to my advantage! Every time you get a question wrong I'll release one towards you! Haha! …Eh?"
He felt a tapping on his shoulder and turned his head to see the librarian behind him.
"Please be quieter in the Library."
"O-Oh yeah…Sorry."
The librarian went back to their desk and Higura continued his lesson except this time being a little quieter.
"Ahem, back to what I was saying. I will release a bug towards you every time you get a question wrong, if you answer right I won't release a bug, simple right?"
"Why does it have to be bugs though?"
"I don't know what if your other fears so this is my best possible option. Now…Let is commence the lesson."
Higura let Tsugumi study for 15 minutes before asking questions and after only 10 minutes he was out of bugs.
"…You got every question wrong…"
"Of course I would!"
"I guess this plan doesn't work…Maybe a reward instead?"
"That would be much more appreciat-Ah!"
A bug jumped towards her and she went to the other side of the table to avoid them. She clung onto his arm while her face showed absolute terror and desire to kill all the bugs he let out…Scratch that, all bugs to exist.
"But what could work as a reward?"
"Please just take away the bugs now!"
"Hmmmm…Food? Present? Trip ticket?"
"Are you listening to me!"
"Oh!"
Higura looked over at Tsugumi who was cutting the circulation from his arm and grinned at his new plan.
"I have decided to award you based on how many questions you get correct."
"Whatever! Just please get rid of them!"
The bugs had changed trajectory and began heading to where the they were and she began cutting the circulation off of both of Higura's arms as she now clamped onto his back trying to stay away from the bugs.
"Wait…Can't I just leave?"
She quickly jumped off of Higura and tried to make a b-line for the door but he grabbed her before she could even get a foot away from him.
"You're not leaving. I hope you understand."
"Just let me be free of this torture!"
"Now let me say what your reward is. Once. You answer 5 questions right I'll give you bug spray. Deal?"
"Just give it to me now!"
"No, no, no, you can't just break the rules. Now let us begin the asking."
After 15 minutes of running around the table and answering questions while Higura kept Tsugumi from running to the door, she eventually managed to get 5 questions correct. Higura then threw her a can of bug spray in which she sprayed the bugs.
"I'm free!"
"I suppose you are. I now know that my original tactic won't work so I'll try something next time that will be more beneficial. At least you seem to be somewhat growing, not much butt still."
"I don't like the way you said that…But can I go now?"
"Hm? Uh, I guess so? I need to start thinking up a new plan for next time so you can go now. That and I need to do something else."
"Woohoo! Freedom!"
She sprinted out the doors and was out of sight before 5 seconds had even occurred.
'She would probably be surprisingly good at sports…Anyway.'
He looked over to the table they were using and realized something that he wished he realized sooner.
"We shouldn't have done this in the Library…"
He cleaned up the bugs and went to the bookshelves afterwords to see if there was anything new he could use as reference material. A familiar short, white haired companion appeared beside him and started talking with him.
"You know you could just teach her like a normal teacher."
"I'm trying to get her to learn, I thought maybe having some sort of loss on her end would make her think more carefully. I guess humans would instead panic under those conditions rather then think calmly."
"You seem to read people well but then do something completely absurd in reality."
"Big oh well on my part, I tried and I'll try again the next study session, except this time with new tactics."
She looked up at him then looked back at the book she was reading. It was another one of his books and it was the most recent release.
"You just need to approach the situation better, maybe use your good personality instead of your bad one."
"….So you know about that?"
"You do act like a jerk to a majority of the school, so I put two and two together and came to the conclusion that you just use whatever personality fits best at that moment in time. Or just use your good personality whenever you are with those you trust."
"Pretty much spot on….Sorry I never told you. Guess it really was just a matter of time before you found out."
"But that possess quite the question."
"What is it?"
"Why did you use your 'good' personality when we first met?"
"…..Huh?"
Higura looked over at Kanna who was looking at him with her completely normal face but there seemed to be something slightly different about it and he couldn't tell what it was. He was going to have to answer the question he hoped would never be asked.
