Girl and Trouble

Why do you hide me away?

I want to feel the daylight with you.

Today is normal as every day. I wait for him with my upper body swaying sideways. I am delighted that I arrived first today, this brings a smugly grin on my face.

The bushes near his particular area shakes violently as I straighten my back and my eyes expectantly sparkles.

He is going to pop out anytime.

And he does.

But even before looking towards me, he looks back and grabs the bushes by his hand to make way.

I frown at his action— he has never done that before. But soon my face darkens when a girl clutches his free hand and steps beside him. I forcefully gulp down my saliva which is struck between my throat because of nervousness as well as anxiety.

*There she is.*

I hear his voice as he informs it to the girl beside him. The girl keeps on staring at me as I shift uncomfortably under her vision— I  look down, feeling as an outsider that is inserting my leg between the..

*Who is she?*

I ask him but he acts like he didn't quite hear me.

*She looks like a normal girl to me. How can she... *cough* She doesn't even meet up to your standards, Matt.*

The girl easily says while shrugging as I grit my teeth in annoyance— clearly feeling offended by the way she addressed me. And somewhere deep inside my heart, I thought he will defend me.

'Hey...'

But he ignores my thoughts again.

"How dare she..." I trail off my words, trying my best not to let a curse out of my mouth which is kind of very difficult at a moment like this.

Probably he heard me saying that as his face turns towards my direction in a swift move. I glare at him, knowing he will not be able to know that I am glaring. He turns his head to the girl again and talks to her which I am not able to hear correctly.

Suddenly they turn their backs towards me as they proceeds in walk back inside.

I panic.

*Hey! Don't go..*

I think. Obviously he heard it but he doesn't stop. What's with him today? Did I do something bad? Why is he acting like this?

*I am asking for the last time and--*

He disappears inside the forest as I inhale sharply. He clearly ignored me on purpose.

I need to do something.

But what?

He is not replying me back— leave that, he didn't even look at me except that one time.

Then my heart wanders off to things I shoudn't do. I know I shouldn't but I normally do what my heart says, cornering my brain at a side and then repent on why I did that.

I look at the gate that is the only way where we can pass the fences and the sole reason why why it is guarded by the school's best bodyguards that are infinite in number. Some of them grunts at me when they feel me looking at them.

An idea rushes inside my mind which is as stupid and crazy as me. I am not sure if it will work but all I can do is try my best and face the consequences.

I pack my lunch box and ready myself for a sprint towards my locker. Throwing the filled box in my bag, I grab my bag and run towards the fire alarm button.

I am completely out of my breathe when I grab the hammer with my sweaty & trembling hands as for the last time, I glance at my sides for anyone's presence.

Much to my luck, no one is there.

Grabbing my belly chain locket, I close my eyes while feeling the cold surface of my lucky charm and with that I smash the glass of the box as the shards succeeds in forming a cut on my fist. I shake my hand to endure that feeling— my mind still focused on my current plan as I press the switch with all of my force.

Loud sirens surround the school's building as soon after the deafening screams of frightened students from the ground floor reaches my ears. I glance down from the staircase, only to see several lines of students accumulating in the school's ground.

The guards which were guarding the gate, now are running towards the school building— leaving only one behind who is looking at the horrendous scene with widened eyes.

Considering it as the best chance, I basically slide down the staircase and even skip several steps between and rush towards the ground. With thief steps, I carefully move towards the gate as the remaining guard glares at me with suspicion.

"Go away, girl!"

He shouts while showing a scary face which is actually supposed to frighten me but uh, who is he trying the scare off?

"But they need you there!" My eyes turn red as I act like a scared individual but he shakes his head in denial. "They are enough and you, go back now."

An amusing expressions flashes on my face, and that is when his thoughts starts to get wilder.

Guess it's the last option.

I poke the inside of my cheek and turn my head around to find a particular thing that can help me in luring him away.

After half a minute of me stupidly glancing around as the guard seems to keep on staring at me without a single blink, my eyes falls on the sharp-edged stone which is of the same as of my palm.

I know this won't help but whatever.

I crouch down and grab it between my hand causing the guard to let out a disbelieving scoff.

"What are you doing?"

He amusingly asks while throwing me a smug look but I instantly charge on him with that single piece of stone. His eyes widens but as he is a guard, he easily dodges it.

I hear his mixed up thoughts resonating in my head as I snicker. But I raise my eyebrow when he thinks of taking out his gun. He is planning on pointing it towards me in the end.

Before be can start with his master plan, I twist him as my hand wraps around his gun from the back— it doesn't take me more than a single pull for snatching it away. Soon when the gun feels normal in my grip, I don't waste any more time and point it towards his direction with my shaky hands due to exertion.

"Give it back!" He angrily roars, but his eyes screams otherwise. "Hand me the keys first." I order as I signal him towards the bunch of keys being wrapped around his belt. But when his eyes glances towards my back, I look behind and my panicking state kicks in.

The commotion is dissolving.

Damn it.

"What, give you the keys? On my freaking dead body," He scoffs as I shrug. "As you wish." And I load the gun, doing the same thing he told me.

"Don't you dare pull the trigger."

Click!

"Wait!!!" He shouts and shuffles through his brown leather belt. Finally when he removes it from its grip, he throw the the bunch towards my feet.

"Pick it up and open the gate!" I growl as he nods and grabs the keys from the ground.

With a click, he opens the metal gate and gestures me that it is now open. I walks towards it with my trembling legs— the gun still is pointing at him so that he won't even try to do something behind my back.

As soon as I place my foot on the opposite side of the gate, a strange electric feeling seeps inside my whole body. I shiver goes down my spine as I close mt eyes to relieve that feeling.

"Close the door— shit!" My lips automatically yells a curse after noticing the group of guards dashing towards me.

With my insides panicking even more in anxiety, I rush towards the forest in my full speed. Several yells and screams can be heard from the outside area but I continue to run. Gun shots are heard too— reminding me of the weapon I have been carrying since the start as I swiftly throw the gun on the ground while running.

My bag tries tripping me multiple timed, but I don't stop. I know the consequences can be the worst but that is not something to be scared of at this point.

I will try to return as soon as possible.

As soon as I step on the pathway where he always stands and talks to me, I heave a sigh of relief— at least I have finally reached my first check point.

I examine the guards that are now standing on the other side of the gate, looking at me with those hungry predator eyes as well as innocent prey's eyes.

Predator because they are too scared of letting the world know about my escape— they instantly will be fired immediately.

Prey's eyes as they are somehow a little concerned for me.

I throw them a two-fingered salute, anyway.

"Lets go—"

Just when I place a foot towards the forest, a deafening scream arises from my throat due to sudden strange movements beneath me. A long net trap was once laying on the ground as now it has brought me to the top of the tree— several metres away from the ground. I keep on screaming my throat out and thrash around till I hear a footsteps coming towards me.
