A storage unit?

"What?" She was puzzled, seeing the vampire all serious like this.

"I know what you're about to ask. No, I didn't have any sort of high school in my time nor did I chose to join one when I got old. Why would I? I've seen every event to be seen in recent and past history. Why would I bother to rot down in the corner of a random high school? To find love?" He asked.

"Yea, why not?" Tanya loved seeing budding romance, yet she wanted none of it for herself.

"Yea, I'm not a weirdo. I'm not interested in being a pedophile." He explained.

"Well, you won't be a pedophile if you joined college, then." She explained since the college kids were above the legal age of consent.

But the thing he talked about wasn't the age of consent. "Okay, let's compare. Eighteen…shit, I don't even remember my age. Consider it as seven hundred or something. So, eighteen…SEVEN HUNDRED! Twenty…SEVEN HUNDRED! So, you find something odd?" Technically, he lived through fourteen generations of an average man's lifespan.

But, Tanya being Tanya, that little fact equates to nothing. "A little bit of an age difference means nothing!"

"Yea, fuck off then." Since Tanya was being such a pain in the ass, he chose to remain ignorant.

Tanya laughed. She knew she taunted him to his limit. So, she decided to switch subjects. "Anyways, you talked about your skin burning."

"Yea, when it gets in contact with the sun, it burns right away. The perk of being a vampire, I believe." Ambrogio spoke as if nothing irritating happened before.

"Why don't you apply something with an SPF then?" She asked.

"Sure, if SPF could battle against a God's curse." He laughed.

"God's curse?" Again, Tanya was stumped. She couldn't guess which one.

"Apollo did it. He was pissed off about something, I guess? I don't remember jack shit about that." He answered.

"Dude, how many Gods have you pissed off?" She asked, with shock, awe, and pity in her eyes.

"Don't know, don't care." He replied, expressing his genuine feelings.

"Fine then." Since it seemed like they weren't reaching anywhere, she thought of asking him about that. "So, how long till we reach our destination? And what's this stuff that's so important for me to see and all?"

"Few more minutes—maybe another half an hour walk from here. And you'll see when you get there. Trust me on that." He replied.

"Whoa! What the fuck did you mean when you said it'd only take half an hour? Two hours—it took two fucking hours for us to get here." Tanya was on the ground, at their destination, panting like a dog. She had the workout she never asked for. She finally realized how Zinbad might've felt back when they were being chased by the guy beside her.

"Well, if you walked in my pace, we would've," Ambrogio replied.

"Walk? We ran for two hours!" She roared with the voice she had in her system.

"That might be running in your standards. If we ran at my pace, we would've got here by five minutes." He replied with no chill.

"Do specify it when we such shit next time. I would've booked a cab at least!" She cried. She took some time, sat on the ground, took a bit of rest, and stood back up. "So, is this it?" She asked.

"Well..."

"I don't get it! This is supposed to be important to me?" Tanya asked as they stood in front of what looked like a storage unit. "But why? I just don't understand!" She didn't quite grasp the idea of a storage unit that is supposed to be important to her.

"Calm down! This is not it! I've some business to attend here, that's it." Ambrogio said as he took out a key and opened the lock.

"Why now? You could've done it when I'm not with you or something! You do know that I hope to get to Addison's as soon as possible, don't you?" Tanya questioned Ambrogio's actions. She just wanted to take a hot bath and sleep now after the run she just had.

"Well, I don't like doing things halfway. If I'm doing something, I like to do it all at one go. Dividing it up is messy. And you'll get lazy." Ambrogio answered as he slowly pushed open the door.

"I get that. But what's in this old storage unit that's so important?" Tanya asked, to which Ambrogio revealed the contents of the storage unit. It had all sorts of valuable materials and even a locker of some sort. Tanya was baffled by the view as she had a few choice words to say.

"Boy—aren't you rich!" She exclaimed when she witnessed all the riches in the unit.

"Well, you could say that. I did collect them throughout my life!" Ambrogio looked proud as he uttered those words.

"Like, I know that you're a vampire and all, but I never would've expected this sort of money. I just expected you to wander around killing people, not earn a shitload of money. However, in retrospect, I should've expected that too!" Tanya said as she carefully inspected a few of the things.

"Now, be a good girl and wait for me, I'll be back in a minute. You can snoop around, but don't break things!" He requested just the one thing of her.

"Don't worry about it!" Tanya assured him. He had no choice but to believe in her and proceeded to the depth of the unit.
