"That's why I am telling you to keep an eye on her. I know she has been there since mom and dad but that doesn't mean you guys can just let her do whatever she wants."
Raising her brows, she asked, "Seriously, what did you find out?"
"It's nothing."
"When was the last time you actually expressed some kind of concern for anything related to the clan? So there has to be a reason for why you are doing it now," Rachael stated.
"It's seriously nothing, just my gut which is always right so—"
"Fine, I'll keep a close eye on her," she sighed.
"What is it?" he questioned her.
"What?"
"You seem a little upset, what is it?"
Massaging her neck, she answered, "It's nothing, I am just tired."
Helplessly shaking his head, Ivan chuckled, "Now where did you learn that from?"
"What? Why are you laughing? Don't humans do this all the time? Stretch their neck and say they are tired."
"Yes but you never get tired so tell me what is wrong." Ivan knew Rachael wasn't the kind who shared her feelings with anyone. He had heard she shared everything with their mother, Elena but after her unfortunate demise, she stopped talking about her feelings and completely shut herself up.
When she did not say anything, he added, "Talking helps, it helps a lot. You just need to find someone reliable, you know."
Smiling at him, she pulled his cheeks. "You have grown up, I still can't believe there was a time you used to piss your pants."
Scrunching his brows, Ivan complained, "We don't have to talk about that ever again."
"Why are you so shy? Everyone pees on their pants when they are young. Well, that is a different thing you did when you were five."
"I drank almost five litres of water that day—" he defended himself.
"Okay, it was an emergency. I get it—" Grinning at him, she remarked, "So a little birdie told me you made a new friend."
"News travels faster than light via Jason," he scoffed.
…..
Around midnight
Amber's place.
Covering her eyes with her hand, Amber took a step back. The strong sunlight forced her to keep her eyes shut for a few seconds before she could finally open it.
Looking around, she realized she was in a meadow. The vast land was covered with luscious green grass which were covered in dew drops. Her feet were digging into the moist soil.
"Hello, is anyone here?" she yelled but all she could hear was the chirping of some birds from a distance.
Looking at her clothes, she realized she was wearing a white silk gown which she obviously did not own. Running her fingers through the smooth dress, she felt very weird.
Holding her gown, she tried to move forward but her feet were jammed in the soil, preventing her from making any move.
As she was struggling to move forward, someone tapped on her shoulder. When she turned around, she frowned.
"Ivan?" She tried to call him out when couldn't. Placing her hand on her neck, she tried to cough and talk again but the result was the same.
Smiling at her, Ivan intertwined his hand with hers.
On the other hand, Amber was mesmerized by his beauty. He looked even more handsome, he looked angelic but there was something different about him. Though he looked the same, she could feel a difference.
Lifting her hand, he gently placed a kiss on her knuckles before guiding her deeper into the meadow.
