Pitting Others-III

We soon reached the part of the Gotham harbor where all the warehouses were located and went to one of the tallest buildings there to surveillance the entirety that is going to happen.

"Hey Kitty~ You got exactly 10 mins. to get her DNA before those of the Bertenelli faction show up."

"That plenty enough, see you around~" she said as she jumped on the emergency exit stairs on the chair after looking carefully at the warehouse where Sofia was currently going with her husband and her personal bodyguard Angelo Mirti and some extras but I knew enough of Selina's capabilities to worry about that and I was right as she was back with a test tube of blood along with some hair as well.

Well it was not needed but meh. Anyways by that time the goons of the Bertenelli family had shown up with extra rage. Why? As apparently the harbor serves as one of the safe locations for the family where they keep their treasures and giving the Bertenelli's a tip that the Falcone family was silently trying to smuggle their treasure while Carmine was attending a party as a cover up did wonders.

'They sure have been at an edge since that diamond has been stolen from their hands.' I mused in my thoughts as I saw the goon dead on both sides while Sofia, Angelo, Luigi and Rocco escaped from there while Rocco and Angelo having gunshots on their leg and shoulder respectively.

"You sure are a schemer." said Selena now sitting beside me dangling our legs off the ledge swinging them without care.

"How else am I suppose to control the crime of Gotham and save those kids lives."

"You sure have a soft spot for them."

"Yeah, because for me they are the only beings that can be selfless if needed." I said in a melancholy as some thoughts about my now foggy memories of my past life surfaced up making my mood a little sad yet happy.

"Something to do with your past." she asked.

"Hmm."

"It will be okay" she said as she hugged my face into her bosoms but at that moment I just enjoyed her warmth while screams of blood and gore were going on far in the background.

"Alright, let's go before more show up" I said as I got up followed by Selena.

The results of this confrontation were as expected by Marcus, the tension between the Falcone and the Bertenelli family grew to an all time high and with them the stability of the Gotham underworld from big syndicates to small gangs of which Astrea family was the least bothered.

As for Carmine, he had grew visibly old by a few years in these few days. First the Batman showed up on his charity gala and threatened him to stop with all his crime works and at the same time the Bertenelli's kidnapped his grandson and called his daughter and son-in-law in a trap using him being busy at a party as a shield.

Yes, that's what he thought that the entire attack was a plan of the Bertenelli's while the Bertenelli's they were also not faring well as every day they were receiving reports of blowing of cover of their various men in different families and raiding of some of their secret stashes which they related to the information leaked from the diamond and as of that moment the only suspect they had was the Falcone's as they had showed up on many locations that were noted down.

While all this was happening Marcus was in his flat with Selina lying on his chest as they cuddled.

"You sure you want me to open it." asked Marcus while tugging her hairs behind her ears.

"Yeah, I don't have the courage."

"Fine" said Marcus as he opened the DNA report and read for a while and then looked at Selina who was watching him nervously.

"Yes, she's your sister."

"*SOB Finally...*hic" hearing that she found a family member in this world where she was alone made her cry for some time but soon she reigned herself and spoke with a firm gaze to Marcus.

"I don't care about them but spare my Nephew and Nieces."

"Huh?!" Marcus was visibly shocked to listen her to agree to his plans of eradicating them. "Why?" with genuine visible confusion.

"I know what sort of person they are and it would be a blessing for all for them to be gone but those two, they are innocent."

"I won't say that for Luigi. When we found him in Cuba, he was getting off torturing slaves he got from the black market after dosing them high on meth as for Vincenzo he has a love for doing a rape roleplay just instead it's real. The only one worth saving is Kitrina Falcone."

"Kitrina?"

"Yeah she's been raised by Mario after her father's death and the relation has been often abusive and thus has developed a hate for the Falcone's and I guess you are the one she's going to relate to most as she has pretty much lived off stealing behind Mario's back but I would recommend to let her be for now and just observe from far to know her better. I mean if she remotely is same as any other Falcone siblings then she is better off."

At this Selina became visibly tense and aggrieved of the situation but said nothing at the end as knew what I said was correct and just snuggled into my chest thinking things over while I just caressed her hair.
