System Doesn’t Want To Be Friends:(

[To help you accomplish this, The System will lend you help]

Bennett takes a quick look left and right, searching for any strange gazes. There weren't any, but only the backs of two guards stationed outside. He turns back to the strange blue screen.

[The System will lend you help in a single day]

Bennett lifts an eyebrow and speaks silently. "So tomorrow, then?."

"The System" doesn't respond, and Bennett clicks his tongue.

"My knowledge doesn't encompass this supernatural wonder." Bennett takes a deep breath and wonders what to do to suppress his impatience.

He puts on his headphones, bumps his head along with the beat.

"Hmm hmm." He paces, thinking about whatever he just encountered, whether he should tell other people, and what to do while waiting.

Fortunately, he doesn't need to even think about it as one of his trusted bodyguards briskly walks in Bennett's direction. "Master Bennett, Lady Jennett requests to speak to you." The bodyguard tenses up somewhat.

"Why doesn't she just call me from my phone?!" Bennett shouts, annoyed.

Bennett picks up the phone the bodyguard hands to him. He flips a coin, then answers. "Hello?"

"Hiya Bennett! What's up?" A cheerful voice speaks from the other side of the phone.

"Thank you for calling, Jennett. I'm really bored. Let's meet up somewhere." Bennett speaks sincerely, but directly.

"Sure. Evernight Garden?" Jennett's voice gets somewhat upbeat.

"Yeah, that's great." Bennett feels a weight leave his shoulders. 'I can waste my time somewhere!

'Wait. Why does that system even need me to wait a whole day? What for?' Bennett puzzles himself.

Suddenly, a flat and modulated voice seems to speak from inside his ears.

[Energy conservation and configuration]

Bennett widens his eyes and believes he should grab at the opportunity before him. 'System. System! What do you do?'

He once again hears no response and he frowns, imagining himself spitting to the side. 'Asshole.'

He feels a tingly sense of excitement, though, knowing he wasn't hallucinating.

As he looks around the gym, the waxed blue floor, the ring shaped ceiling lights, the slick black equipment, and the bodyguard next to him all come into view. The sense of excitement remains as his gaze sharpens. 'I will find that fucker and make him feel pain.''

He smiles, revealing his bright white teeth.

The bodyguard follows behind Bennett. 'Master Bennett is exceptionally happy today. Strange.'

[You have unopened mail. Open?]

[Yes] [No]

Jake looks around and sees Mohammed still with his palm out with an excited look on his face, intending to go through the same procedure Jake did. He looks back at the screen and tries tapping, but before he taps the screen, it selects Yes for him. He draws a conclusion. 'Oh, I just have to think about it.'

Gblimsequa looks over and sees Jake trying to tap the screen and tells him, "You don't need to tap, just think about tapping it."

"Useless skeleton." Jake mutters.

"!" The skeleton's eye flames burn brightly before he calms down and translates a sigh by gritting his teeth in a certain fashion.

Jake only pays attention to the screen and another screen appears, overlapping with the previous one.

In the mail:

[Hello Jake, this is your predecessor, your senior, Richard. If you ever have any questions just mail me back.]

'He only gave me his name?!! Why do I have to take the initiative to ask, you useless person?' Jake becomes frustrated causing him to groan loudly.

He thinks about pressing the X and then another screen pops up.

Another mail:

[Hello again, Jake, a reminder: don't tell anyone about you being a regressor, or the mail I've sent you. I mean ANYONE. I advise you don't. Well, besides that, my real name is Richard Jacques and nobody in existence knows that's my actual name besides you now, so I won't be traced at all. Use it as you'd like. Uhh. As for what your regression powers are, I'll let you figure that out on your own. Only ask me any questions about The World and such things.]

Jake thinks about pressing X, and he paces back and forth thinking about the subject of a regressor before he stops in his tracks and realizes something. He doesn't know what a regressor is or pertains to! He can't ask the skeleton either because of what Richard said: he can't tell anyone about being a regressor and that'd easily hint ever so slightly about it.

Jake sighs and decides to google about it when gets ba- "Giblim are we going to go back home?" Jake watches as Mohammed goes through the same process he did, but with a lot more excitement.

Gblimsequa looks at Jake as if trying to read him. "Probably not. Not with the memories ya have right now. Pretchy unsafe ta let someone with knowledge about an intergalactic civilization go back ta a regular planet, isn't it? Not like we really care about a backward planet such as yours either way, so ya may be able ta convince the higher up that favours ya.."

At around this time Mohammed was woken up by Gblimsequa's tap. Gblimsequa mutters, staring blankly at the floor, "Giblim, huh?"

As Mohammed slowly grows consciousness, Jake comes over to help him out and make sure nothing went wrong. Mohammed groans and when he realizes where he is, he excitedly shares the details of his ownership of The System.

It turns out that Mohammed's system is fairly different from his own, visually. Instead of just the translucent, blue screen, he also gets an avatar that reads out what's on the screen. The avatar was his mother. Mohammed got somewhat uncomfortable seeing his mother in such a manner and quickly changed it to a random species and person with the help of Gblimsequa. He ends up with a 7 and a half foot humanoid dragon with gold armor that explains everything in a precise and cold manner. Of course, as the avatar is a miniaturized version of the original figure, the dragon is much shorter.

Mohammed thanks the skeleton for his help and Jake ends up asking with a pout, "How come he gets an avatar and I don't?"

'He really is such a child to be envious of others so easily.' The skeleton smiles and explains how he can also get an avatar if he so wishes to, but also explains that The System read his habits and which mode would be more efficient for him. He himself would be almost guaranteed to be uncomfortable to have a mode other than the recommended one.

"Ok Giblim, let's fix Mohammed up now." Jake gets somewhat excited to see Mohammed fixed up, as he has been helping him around a whole bunch.

They walk back to the elevator to take it back down. On their way back, Jake slows down in his tracks and asks Gblimsequa a question that's been bugging him for a little bit. "How come you're so motivated to assist us? Why are we VIP?"

Gblimsequa only glances towards Jake and gestures for him to follow and talk. "Don't ya think it'd be pretty fakin' lonely sittin' in a room by yaself all day waitin' for just one person?"

Mohammed imagines the situation of sitting down on a reception desk without having readily available things to keep him busy. He sternly says, "Really boring!"

Gblimsequa nods, gritting his teeth in the same certain manner. "Yer, very bawrin'. Haha. I've done some pretty stupid stuff just ta keep myself busy."

Mohammed tilts his head, confused. "You have superpowers don't you!? Keep yourself busy by practicing those!"

Gblimsequa awkwardly laughs, "I can't use any techniques in the reception room and I can't go above as the undead are for the warriors to grow their strength."

Jake acts as to show some empathy for the skeleton, but acutely notices how he avoided the question of being VIP. He decides that there must've been a reason why he'd ignore the question.

He never thought of the possibility of the skeleton forgetting what he asked…
