As the monstrous beast-man commander in the rear of the ranks shouted its commands towards the minions who served on the front lines of the siege, Alex struggled to contain the growing tide. Luckily for him, a hill of corpses prevented the army from approaching him with ease. Due to the small gap in the wall's collapse, the monstrous horde was funneled into the entrance two at a time, Where Alex and another slayer stood valiantly defending the southwest entrance.
Iron clashed with flesh as Alex swung his fists in a flurry of blows that landed heavily upon his foes. With each clash, bones would shatter, and monsters would howl as they fell to the ground adding to the pile of bodies that had at this point practically formed a wall in of itself. Eventually, despite the attempts by the beast-man in the rear to rally his forces, the monsters had failed to achieve any significant breakthrough in the human's defenses.
