Alex was lead back to the Ludus where he continued training for the day; when he finally got back to his cell at night, he noticed claire was inside of it, though she did not have a reason for being there at the moment, as there was not an ongoing celebration, he allowed it nonetheless, completely unaware of Medhyasa's ploy to determine whether or not Naga/Human hybrids could exist. As such, he fell asleep without worrying, and claire once more climbed into his bed after disrobing. To ensure Alex did not awaken during this time, she bit into his neck with her retractable fangs and injected her poison into his bloodstream. For Alex and his high level of endurance, this would only act as a mild sedative, ensuring he would stay asleep during the duration of Claire's performance.
