2-8

I'm staring at the ceiling, lying on bed. Lights are out, snores are heard and nothing in mind. I don't know if Kevin, Carlo or Ryan noticed the light source, I just hope that they did; otherwise, we have no other option left other than perform a search party… And then there's Nadia's incident. She said she saw something in the dark that made her never want to open her eyes again. Whatever she saw must be very horrific and traumatizing.

I grabbed my phone and checked the time, 11:44 PM, it is this late yet I am not yet sleepy. Jefferson and Troy are already stoned to sleep.

I sat on my bed and wiped my face, sighing very heavily. I can't go to sleep, I better walk it off.

I stood up and gone outside and into the living room.

No one is in the living room, though I can hear the voices of James, Sheila and Jasmine in the kitchen so I followed the voices. As I slowly approached the kitchen, I can smell the sweet aroma of coffee.

"Dar, Hello." Sheila noticed and greeted me,

"Want some?" James asked me,

"Sure, I want some. Thank you." I replied James' hospitality and went to the counter where they are at,

"Can't go to sleep?" Jasmine asked,

"Yep… It's not like it's something new. Heck, I am more active at night than the day." I chattered as James served me a specially brewed coffee and some snacks,

"Yeah! Me too! The life of a night person! Hahah!" James laughed,

"What about you Sheila? Aren't you following a beauty regiment or something?" James asked Sheila,

"What? Um… No, I don't." Sheila grimaced as she replied,

"You don't have to be shy, Sheila. Even I put orange juice on my face." I said without making much sense,

"Who the hell puts orange juice on their faces? Hahaha!" Jasmine exclaimed as she laughed uncontrollably,

"Oops, bladder is full. I need to go to the CR." I said in the open.

I strode to the Washroom and opened the CR. After I did my duty, I was nearing the kitchen when I noticed a basement door that just magically shown itself from nowhere, like poof, I am here.

"GUYS!!! I THINK YOU NEED TO SEE THIS!" I shouted in the opened so that Jasmine and the others would hear,

They approached me as James asks why they are being called out to.

"What is it?"

"This door is not supposed to be here, right?" I asked them,

"Hmm… No… It shouldn't be…" Jasmine realized,

I slowly opened the door; it made a very creepy creak and we peeked inside.

"Um… It's kind of very dark in there." Sheila said with hesitation,

"I don't think we can look inside. I can't see shit in there." Jasmine murmured,

"But this door is strange, isn't it? It's like the door you saw earlier, Daryl." James said in the open,

"See, I was right! And you didn't even believe in me. So much 'Eww'" I exclaimed,

"Should we just leave it or something?" Sheila asked,

"Hmm… NO… I think we should search what's in it." I suggested,

"How can we search such place? It's too dark in there, I doubted, there's even a switch in there." Jasmine said,

"Hmm… Oh, I know! I was right to bring that flashlight with me, be right back!" A thought came to my mind,

"I'll go with you." Sheila said as she tagged herself along,

"Daryl, Sheila! Wait! We have pho-…" Jasmine tried to stop us but we just continued on our way.

We rushed to my room and grabbed my flashlight; Jefferson and Troy sleeping very heavily.

"Why do you have a flashlight?" Sheila asked in a whisper, not to disturb the slumber of the other two sleeping,

"I thought we could have an adventure in the waterfalls, that's why I thought I could bring it with me." I replied,

"Hmm… Okay." She seems to just accept it and moved on.

We went back to the door and shown to James and Jasmine the thing that I just brought with me.

"Nice. But we have phones you know..." Jasmine said as I handed her the flashlight,

"Daryl! Sheila! Let's go in." James invited us in,

"I… I don't think I want to…" Sheila hesitated,

"Don't be such a scaredy-cat Sheila." Jasmine said,

"It's just that it's too dark in there…" She reasoned,

"Sheila… Do not reason with me." I said with disinterest,

"It's just that there might be something in there." She still reasoned while the three of us went in the basement door already,

"Hey, wait up!" Sheila exclaimed as she catches up to us.

Absolute darkness touched our skin. The flashlight and our phones is the only illumination.

The stairs creaked very loudly as we slowly fade away from the light from outside of the door. Sheila clung onto my shirt like she's going to rip it apart; I just hope she doesn't pull too strong; this is my favorite shirt after all.

We reached the bottom of the stairs, the sound of our footsteps reverberated in the room and our voices echoed. James stepped onto something that gave off a creepy sound.

"AHH!" Sheila shouted from the bottom of her lungs as she strongly gripped my shirt,

"Sheila! You're ripping my shirt off!" I resisted,

"It's just a piece of wood." James inspected the thing that he just stepped on.

We searched the surrounding of the room; the room is not really that big. In the middle, a table is strategically placed. We inspected the table; on it two weird papers with scribbling is written.

"What are these, clues? Numbers and Scribbles?" Jasmine said as she picked up the two pieces of papers and examined it.

"There's nothing here but dust and that pieces of papers." James exclaimed,

"Guys, it's so dark." Sheila whined,

"We know, Sheila." James groaned,

"There's nothing else in here other than this paper, we better go back up." Jasmine suggested as she took the papers with her,

After we all agreed to return, Sheila immediately, without hesitation, ran back to the door. Then we followed.

"That was one weird room, right?" Sheila grinned,

We just looked at Sheila with disinterest. James held the door when the door suddenly slammed shout, having James taken aback and instantaneously, the door vanished.

"Whoa!" We we're bedazzled by the immediate disappearance of the door.

"Okay… I believe you now." James said openly while our mouths agape in bewilderment.
