The four of us started to return to our assigned rooms as me and James bid 'good nights' to both Sheila and Jasmine. James hastily went to our room while I lazily followed his lead. James entered our room while leaving the door to our room open for I was just going to follow him in. I stopped on my tracks, just standing idly in front of the door. My eyes are starting to feel heavy but I still had the urge to look at the window just in front of our door, hoping... Just hoping I could see Kevin and others.
I wasn't worried that much earlier because I had absolute confidence with my idea. Now that the bonfire almost died down and they still haven't returned yet made my worries to wake up. Today is a very long day…
The disappearance of Carlo, Kevin and Ryan, the appearing/disappearing door, Nadia's unknown and traumatic incident; All of these incidents are too much for all of us to understand. Just what is exactly happening here? Are we being punished for our misdeed? We haven't even done something that would bring a great multitude of Karma to us. We are not murderers or a grave sinner. We are just ordinary students. If I just had trust in my instincts, then maybe we wouldn't even be in this situation at all. Now that I think about it, it sounds like this is my fault. I better rethink of trusting my gut feeling again.
As I stared blankly through the window while I touched the glass with my palm, I suddenly saw a shadow moving along the darkness in the forest, I couldn't make up its appearance since the light of the bonfire couldn't reach to where this moving shadow is due to the estate obstruction. I opened my eyes wide and in panic, turned on the flashlight that I have been holding and point it to where the shadow at, it could be Kevin and the others, I couldn't even be happier. My eyes widened, mouth opened in shocked while simultaneously, my body shaken before I can even feel happy, a horrid look surface on my face first. A figure, pale beige old and wrinkly skin, hairless, no face, just mouth, huge crane claws for hands, hoofs for legs, long and pointy teeth, wearing only loin-cloth and also its abdomen up all the way to its mouth is covered in a crimson-scarlet liquid. Don't tell me its blood?
It was sizzling in black smoke the moment I pointed my flashlight to it and immediately ran away back to the forest. I stayed still, couldn't process a creature in my head. Then I realized; I think I just had the grasp of what Nadia saw and what could also be a hindrance to the return of Carlo and others. If it is just one, then we can manage it? But what if a horde of it is waiting inside the forest? I felt the sweat gushed to my chest. Now, I can say with absolute confidence that I really want to go home. VERY BADLY.
