By the next day, Little Moon had finished off the new drawing for the lost costume design. She looked so tired and exhausted. I realize her appetite has been lost too.
"How are you doing, George?" Mr.D called during lunchtime.
"I am ok Mr.D."
"How is Little Moon?"
I showed her curled up fast asleep on the sofa.
"Hmm... She seems so tired and with no appetite."
"She must have been worried a lot for losing the drawing. Did she show any signs of stress?"
"No, she seems to bottle it up."
"Did I put a lot of pressure on her?" Mr.D looked too worried.
"Mr.D, I will take care of it. I am planning to take her out to the beach at night. And I have a little surprise for her as well."
"Ok, George. Just tell her that I received all the final drawings and I have sent them to the relevant departments."
I looked at little Moon. She was curled up and deep in sleep. I went and sat near her, I stroked her head and coaxed her to wake up. It's almost near seven in the evening. Mark entered at the same time.
"Sir,"
"Hope you had enough time to arrange what I wanted, Mark."
"Yes, sir. May I apologize for what happened yesterday."
"Don't worry Mark, what happened was not your problem. And it's hard to avoid."
"Thank you, sir."
"Can you get the car ready in 30 minutes. I will bring her with me."
"Ok, Mr.George."
Since it's getting late I got ready with a white t-shirt and black denim. I took the surprise gift and went to Little Moon. She was still fast asleep. I held her to my chest and went to the car. She murmured a bit on the way to the car.
"Don't worry it's me," I said to her, and she went back to sleep. Then only I saw her dark circles and her fingers roughened up drawing all day long.
We came to her secret beach hideout. Mark has arranged everything as I have asked him. A small tent with a picnic dinner. The sea breeze was not so cold and the stars looked bright tonight. I took her to the tent and kept her close to me, till she wakes up.
She silently woke up after about half an hour. She was surprised to see her at the beach. I made her have some food and drink as she had no appetite before. Mark has given me the ok to go for a stroll with her.
"Hi." I looked at her.
"Hmmm..."
"Come on let's go for a walk." I gave her my hand. She waited a bit before taking my hand.
We walked for a while silently. It felt so warm to have held her hand and I watched her face. She likes to get the waves crash into her feet and inhale the sea breeze.
"I got you something." and I showed her a seashell I had found while walking. She took it from me and started to examine the shell.
"This goes to my seashell treasure bottle." She smiled looking at her.
I looked at her. Her eyes were twinkling brightly. I gave her a kiss on her cheek and held her tight.
"Close your eyes," I told her. From a box, I took out a pair of ear studs and put them in her hand. It was a diamond stud earring that she could wear every day.
"Wow!! Thank you." She looked at me with inquiring eyes.
"I saw you admiring these ear studs when we went out yesterday."
"How?" She was curious.
"I have my secrets." I winked at her and put them on her ears. The ear studs shine bright as her eyes tonight.
I send Mr.D a photo of us together. He gave a video call.
"Wish you were here to enjoy the view, brother," said Little Moon.
"I seem to smell the sea." said Mr.D.
"Mr.D, may I know the progress of our rushed work?"
"Oh!!, that was done really well. No amendments," he said with a thumbs up.
"My dear, you will have to finish the character modeling."
"Yuiks... I will have a lot to do. Can the character department help with the rigging?" she asked.
"Yes I will ask them to help. And George, you both enjoy some relaxation. I have a meeting to attend in a few minutes."
"Ok Mr.D, Take care."
"Bye, Brother D."
We spend about one and a half hours more before heading back home.
"Mark"
"Yes sir."
"Can we watch the city lights and then head back home," I asked as I knew she liked to see the night city lights. The city looks so calm with dancing lights in the late night. I watched her enjoying the lights.
Suddenly I felt a weight on my shoulder. Little Moon has fallen asleep through the drive. I held her close and covered her with my coat to avoid her catching a cold.
"Sir, we are at home." I was awakened by Mark.
"Thank you, Mark. I will take her to the bedroom." I took Little Moon to her room and tucked her in. She hugged a teddy, a gift from Mr.D.
I went to the studio before going to bed. The whole place looked upside down. I cleaned up and re-arranged the room in a way to tidy the room. While opening the computer table drawer, I saw two paintings.
