2: A warriors heart

Six years later, Mable is a six year old girl and her older brother Tony is eight years old. One early morning, aunt Mirabel takes Salma, Tony and Mable to the stream so they could wash some clothes. When they reach the stream, aunt Mirabel and Salma start to unpack the clothes so they could wash them. Tony takes a medium sized pot and helps to fetch water while little Mable joins the other children to play. Mable asks the children if she could play with,"hi everyone is it OK if I play with all of you? "

One of the children gives Mable a condition on which she could play with them,"if you want to play with us then you must be able to count 1to10"

Mable looks to the ground with disappointment, " but I can't count, I have never been to school "

The little girl shames Mable, "how can someone at your age not know how to count. you are a loser" as she finishes saying this, all the other kids laugh and leave except for one little boy just Mable's age,"hi my name is Kel, can we be friends?"

Mable brings a smile back on her face and extends her hand to greet the boy,"hi my name is Mable and I'll be your friend"

Tony approaches Mable and Kel,"listen Mable I saw and heard everything that the naughty girl told you so from now on I'll teach you how to write and count"

Kel's mother calls to him and he leaves. Tony takes Mable with him.

After reaching home, aunt Mirabel starts preparing lunch while Mable helps Salma fold the clothes in the room. Mable tells her mom what happened at the stream, "mom, some girls and boys were laughing at me because I can't count and I don't go to school"

Salma takes Mable hands and looks into her eyes,"don't listen to all those foolish kids, I personally promise you that I will take you to school and you will learn to count,OK"

When she hears this Mable gives her mother a big hug,"I love you so much mom,can we go and have lunch now please am very hungry"

Salma takes Mable to go have lunch.

The rest of the family seat at the table to eat lunch while Salma serves everyone their lunch. Mable tells Tony the good news,"Tony you know those kids that laughed at me today, they won't anymore because mom will take me to school "

Tony and aunt Mirabel express their happiness but Riswan isn't happy and he vents his anger out on Salma, "are you mad woman! why take her to school when she's a girl, what good can come out of her, and with who's money will you take her to school" Riswan gets up and starts to leave the table. As he is leaving Mable runs to him and holds his hand,"papa, don't worry when I go to school I'll make you proud and I won't cause any trouble like I do here at home".

Riswan shoves Mable's hand away and leaves. Aunt Mirabel sees how sad Mable is and she comforts her, " don't worry kid, I personally know that you are going to make us proud "

At bedtime, Salma takes Mable to her room so she could put her to sleep. Mable makes her mother shed a tear because of her words, "mom papa hates me so much,he shouts at you whenever you say anything about me. But don't worry when I grow up I will make papa love me,I finish school and be the greatest woman ever I will make sure everyone loves baby girls again I promise. When I become powerful, I will make sure I place every evil man under my feet"

Salma looks into Mable's eyes," I know I can trust you my daughter and I know you will be great one day I just feel it"
