Gone like the wind

Inside of a small forest, a young man could be seen standing on the edge of a cliff overlooking a small village burning to the ground, the perpetrators of this act had already left the village however, the young man could still see them over the horizon, it was a shame that he had arrived here too late but nothing could be done anymore, he jumped off the cliff, landing without any issue.

He was wearing a white uniform, ressembling that of military official, his long blue cape fluttered a bit on the wind as he touched the ground, his blond hair shined under the sun and his clear blue eyes, locked onto the bandits that had ravaged a village.

Today had been quite a good day for Globerm, the village they had just pillaged had fetched quite the nice sum, more than he expected from such a modest looking village and thanks to that Tarrare guy, they had had no issue with the few guards, he had killed them by himself swiftly.

Plus the deal with this guy was pretty nice, as long as they gave him at least seventy five percent of all the food that was found, he would agree to get rid of the guards, with all the money they could make quickly thanks to him, they had no issue buying their own food, they could also simply hunt in the forest.

Globerm wasn't sure what he did with so much food since he never carried any food with him, it all disappeared after a bit.

Tarrare was quite the weird guy, he dressed in a deep and pale blue uniform of some sort, a coat that covered all beneath his neck except for his feet, he also wore some sort of mask or scarf that covered half of his face, as well as goggles and a weird helmet that was the same color as his outfit, Globerm had never seen what he looked like, all he could see was his vague shape.

He seemed rather thin but seeing how proficient he was at combat, it was safe to assume that he was rather fit, he stood a bit taller than most, being about one meter and ninety centimeter tall.

Last weird things about him were his weapon and accent, Globerm had never seen anyone use a large cleaver to fight before, he was pretty sure this was used to kill pigs and as for his accent, it was just very foreign, it sounded quite refined.

Globerm was simply sitting, looking around leisurely, his men were playing cards, beating each other up for reasons he couldn't understand and drinking, Tarrare was sharpening his large cleaver, once more the food given to him had disappeared, he was only out of sight for no more than five minutes, how did he do that?

Globerm then stood up, walking a bit, paying attention so as to not trip on any debris of the destroyed building they were in and got to the entrance, there he felt like he saw a shine in the distance.

Squinting his eyes so as to see better, he felt like he saw a white dot surround in blue approaching them, it didn't take him long to realise that it was someone as the figure was getting closer, making him realise that it wasn't exactly anyone.

"Everyone! Get ready, a knight is approaching!" he yelled out to his men, they, almost, all got up and grabbed whatever weapon they could reach.

Globerm knew that knights tended to not joke around, especially with bandits but there seemed to only be one, he had twenty men excluding himself and Tarrare, he was confident that they could defeat a singular knight, they may be nothing but brutes without much technique but they could coordinate their attacks, somewhat.

Globerm positioned himself at the back and looked behind him, surprise spreading across his face.

'Where did Tarrare go?' he thought, the guy had just vanished from his spot.

The knight was close now, all of the bandits were prepared, slowly circling around him and readying their few bows and crossbows.

"Who is your leader?" asked the young knight calmly, he didn't seem very impressed by the bandits, revolutionary tactic.

Globerm only signaled them to shoot and so they did, with a slight delay.

The bolts and arrows loomed closer to the knight in an instant and he simply stomped his feet, creating a gust of air, breaking the projectiles momentum and making them fall to the ground without causing any harm.

"I asked a question" simply spoke the knight as he unsheated his saber in a swift movement, none of the bandits saw it happen.

Globerm suddenly had the feeling that, maybe, his men couldn't defeat this knight, so he choose to step up and make himself known with some luck, this knight wasn't going to slice them up if he answered his questions.

"It's me, what do you want?" he said, not looking scared at all, he had to put on a brave face.

"Ah, what is your name?" asked the blond knight.

"Globerm" flatly answered the bandit leader, he could feel the knight's blue eyes staring right at him, it almost felt like they were drilling into him, this is how it felt when you met someone much stronger than you were, Globerm knew that feeling well.

"Globerm, I am looking for a man called Vlasfimia, would you happen to know where he is?" asked the young knight, surprising Globerm.

'Vlasfimia?! He want info on that guy?!' Globerm was thrown into a panic inside of his head.

Hearing the name the bandits looked at the ground as if they had remembered something, all of them were sweating bullets.

This was a shitty situation for Globerm, even if this knight didn't kill him, he could be certain that Vlasfimia would, after all he may have suddenly vanished but Tarrare was surely still around and he knew Vlasfimia very well as they were both members of Infamy.

The sweat that trickled down his face had completely given away that he knew Vlasfimia but he couldn't be certain where he was, so he chose to tell the truth.

"I do know who you are talking about but I don't know where he currently is" answered Globerm, fearing that his head would be chopped off at any moment.

"I can't believe every single bandit I questioned knows him" spoke the knight out loud.

"I commend your honesty, so I will be frank with you" spoke the knight, the air tensed up suddenly.

"I can't let you run free, so pull your weapon out and prepare to die" said the knight.

"Attack!" immediately shouted out Globerm, as he stepped back, turned his back on the fight that was about to ensue and started running.

His men would buy him some time, enough for him to run away!

He ran without stopping for but a few seconds, a large sound was heard and the sound of meat hitting the ground, alongside steel and other things could be heard afterwards, the bandit leader turned around only to see that all of his men had been diced up to pieces, the pieces covered the area but at the heart of all of it, everything was clean.

Globerm was unable to rationalise what had happened but the knight had simply done the same thing as before, a gust of wind, simply much stronger this time.

Before he could even begin pleading for his dear life, Globerm's skull was pierced, his lifeless body falling to the ground, twitching for a few moments before going limp.

Tarrare had left after the goons had been ripped apart and was heading toward Bcoudnege, it was quite far from here but he should be able to get there relatively quickly using small shortcuts.

He was quite surprised really, he certainly had not expected to see Agios here, he even seemed to know his brother was in this country or at least on this continent.
