5- Crafting a weapon

Aiden was feeling like the chosen one. He had an 'S' tier skill, he would get an inventory and was blessed with luck. He had it all, but he was also about to discover another feature of the New world.

He walked toward the boar's loot and didn't find any meat or tusk this time, but a bone. From it's length and width you could guess it was probably one of the leg bone. When Aiden picked it up, a window popped with a yes or no question.

'Do you want to use: crystal tusk boar's bone, crystal tusk boar's crystal tusk and abyss demon's horn to craft a 'C' tier spear ?'

'YES/NO'

Aiden promptly clicked on yes and then felt and saw the three items disappear from his hands and pockets.

The three objects started floating in front of Aiden's face when a sudden light flashed and they all vanished.

In their place was a lengthy spear who's hilt was made of the bone and head of the horn. The tusk was powderified and sprinkled all over the spear giving it a faint glow and a better durability.

A new window showed itself before Aiden's face with a simple message.

''C' tier spear created'

'You do not have an appraisal skill to see the spear's perks'

'You can name your spear since you crafted it'

'How would you like to name your spear ?'

Aiden pondered over what to name his spear and finally raised his voice to give it a name.

"I will call this spear 'Abyss piercer'."

A text card flashed prompting Aiden to make sure it was the name he wanted. He clicked yes and the spear teleported in his hands.

It felt great. The handle was perfect for his hands and the weapon had great stability. It suited him perfectly.

Now with a real weapon in hands Aiden went out in the forest to find more boar to feed himself.

....

After hunting in the forest for a couple of weeks, Aiden had grown accostumed to his spear and how to use it properly. He could one shot any crystal tusk boar he saw and even got a couple more bones from them. He kept them in case he had the chance to craft something again, but for now, none appeared.

He also had leveled up quite a bit. He was level 9 but still had the same stats as before because he wasn't sure where to invest them. He now had thirteen unused stat points.

Aiden was quite strong now and he thought he had a chance at surviving outside Peaceful forest. Prior to this moment, Aiden spotted another zone reassembling a plain. There were many small hills and he could see some monsters fight from time to time but he didn't dare to go in until now.

So, after eating the last crystal tusk boar's meat he had, Aiden went in the plain.

The moment Aiden's feet touched the plain a text card popped. 'You left Peaceful forest, it was added to your encyclopedia.'

Aiden, then, immediately opened his info card and went to the encyclopedia tab where he found a giant map with only Peaceful forest in color. He could see all of the New world and now knew how the awakened who wrote books knew in fine detail the borders of the New world without visiting all of it.

Another message popped up, which made Aiden smile. 'You discovered Peaceful forest, you earned +5 health points.' Aiden rapidly opened his info card to confirm he really had acquired those health points and here they were. He now was sitting on 16 health points.

Aiden then hastily went back in Peaceful forest and another ring accompanied by the usual flashing card materialized before him. 'You left the Catari plain, it was added to your encyclopedia.' Followed by: 'You discovered Catari plain, you earned +2 agility points.'

Aiden was now more than ready to go in Catari plain and felt like he could walk faster and his feet were lighter.

So, Aiden entered the Catari plain and easily found a new monster to try his spear on.

The monster was maybe a hundred feets from him. It was a sheep with thicker wool and a pair of fang sticking out of its mouth. It had a little tail with a fluffy ball of wool at the end making the beast look cute and fearsome at the same time.

Aiden started to go in the sheep's direction with his spear in hand, ready to fight for his life. Aiden couldn't really hide from the sheep but even when he got more and more close, the sheep didn't budge. It kept eating the grass without a care in the world and it was logical. Only herbivores and insectivores lived in Catari plain making them not fear the adventurers and other wild animals.

When Aiden was close enough to the sheep he looked in its eye and said, "Sorry!" while violently shoving his spear in the sheep's skull.

'Catari sheep killed'

'You gained 11 exp'

With its death also came an encyclopedia update which let Aiden know of this monster's name.

'New monster discovered'

'Type: Beast'

'Name: Catari sheep'

'Location: Catari plain'

Aiden, then, looked at the loot he got and was quite pleased. On the ground was a new type of meat and a ball of wool, which weighted a lot more than he thought by looking at it's size.

Aiden wanted to test out his theory again and started cooking the sheep's meat. The sheep's meat was way tastier than the boar's meat and when he finished eating it, Aiden heard the ring which showed him his health. He now had 17 total health points and he knew his theory was right.

Aiden's theory was that, when he ate a monster's meat for the first time he would gain something and this something seemed to be Hp.

Yet again, the feeling of freshness he got from eating the meat for the first time made him feel warm and happy.

Since the night was setting in, Aiden decided to continue hunting tomorrow and keep the warm feeling with him while he slept.

Next day.

Aiden went hunting all day that day. He killed a dozen sheeps and got a lot of meat and wool. When hunting, he found a nearby city with humans in it.

It had been over month since Aiden saw any other person so he went at the gate off the city to see if he could talk to people and sleep on a comfy bed.

When he arrived at the gate, Aiden saw a big line of people with carriage and bags waiting to go inside. At the front were three guards who looked quite strong, who were making sure the people in the liner weren't coming in with I'll intentions or any weird stuff.

Aiden started walking toward the line and posted himself at it's back.

From the speed of it, he would probably need to wait a couple of hours before he could enter but he didn't lose hope because the idea of a comfortable bed outclassed any waiting he would need to do.

After thirty minutes, Aiden felt a tap on hiss shoulder. He turned around to see who it was and saw two men. One big with a beard and a smaller one with a sly look and a. pointy moustache. They were both in a set of leather and chain armor with a mace and a sword attached to their hips.

When Aiden had fully turned around, the small guy talked to him as if he were a kid.

"Hey there, poor boy, would you be nice enough to let us pass, we want to enter before the night." said the man looking at Aiden with a look that said move if you don't want to get beaten.

"Sorry but I really need to get in so you'll have to wait." said Aiden.

The big man, then, walked up and said with a loud voice, as to intimidate Aiden.

"Look we tried to be nice and you didn't help yourself. Now move if you don't me to shove my fist in your face!"

The small man continued with.

"Ye, you're probably not even level five yet. Me and my friend here are already level six so you better move out of the way kid."

Aiden scoffed, he was level nine and those fool thought they were better than him.

In the New world, the level wasn't necessarily the determining factor, it was the total number of stat points but at a low level, most people didn't have enough quest or loot to make the difference. So, right now, even if Aiden didn't use his points, he was still ahead of those two.

Aiden shrugged without giving a damn about what they were doing. He thought that with the guards, they wouldn't dare to do anything weird. But those two were first-class assholes and the big man throwed a punch at Aiden's back.

"You gonna move now?" said the little man, snickering.

Aiden turned around and used the back of his spear to land a huge blow on the big man's head. He continued by hitting the small man's face with the handle and knocking both down.

"He's not a low level. Shit!" said the big man.

"It's fine Herim. My cousin is one of the guards on duty today. He can help us and he's already level ten. He can easily beat him." said the small man watching in the distance trying to spot his cousin.

Aiden couldn't win in a fight against a level ten without using his stat points but he really wanted to get in the city. If the guard really came to find trouble he'd use his points to fight but if else he'd just continue waiting.

The duo stood up and the small man started waving at someone. Aiden looked in the direction and saw an armored man with a spear coming towards him.
