A king was born (4)

Rule by fear.

Aiden wasn't someone that impressive physically or intellectually and wasn't really someone you'd fear. But if you saw the loot from the one of your race piled up in a dark cave, which was the equivalent of a corpse in the New world for the monster, you too would fear the man standing before you. Add to that, the ominous red light coming out of the man's pocket and you would really cower in front of him.

The former king ruled in the same way, just not with baboon loot but with adventurers's corpse, which was way more fearful in his opinion, but yet again, it was his own race.

Aiden now knew what to do to get accepted by the baboons. So he started to take the loot to the opening of the cave. The blood back who was kneeling observed Aiden and started doing the same thing.

'He's learning quite fast. I should probably keep him as an assistant of some sort.'

After hoarding everything in front of the opening, Aiden stepped on top of the little mountain of loot and looked at the red forest, with a glint of pride in his eyes.

"AAAaaaaarghh!" Aiden shouted at the forest.

Every blood back baboon in a square mile turned to face the direction of the voice.

They all saw the same scene: An armored man standing atop a piled if loot with another baboon kneeling on his side.

Most of them did the same as the baboon next to Aiden but some others started jumping toward the opening of the cave.

Three baboon who were taller and more muscular than the rest of the group appeared before Aiden.

They weren't kneeling, nor did they look scared. The tallest walked forward and pointed at Aiden's spear. It then started punching it's own chest.

Aiden understood it wanted to fight so without giving it any time to prepare he stroke the baboon with his spear and killed him in one shot.

The other two, who were also looking eager to fight earlier, looked more meek now and they started to look down.

The blood back in the forest all looked at Aiden with fear in their eyes. They knew he killed one of their strongest fighter and could probably really with them too, so they did the same as the first baboon and started kneeling.

The quest updated.

'The blood back baboon clan recognises you as the strongest here and they accept you as their new king.'

'Quest completed'

'You earned the Translator skill'

Aiden opened his info card and clicked on the skill to see what it did, even if he had an idea.

'Translator (S)

Allow the user to understand any living organism with a higher intelligence and get understood. Does not cost mana. Is always active.'

"Wow!" Aiden exclaimed.

The baboons lifted their head and looked at Aiden. One of the two big baboon from earlier opened it's mouth, but it's not a screech that came out like earlier but a manly voice with a tone of nobility.

"What do you want to do with us, sir." said the baboon.

Aiden was shocked. He knew what his skill did but did not think he would hear them like this.

"You can really understand me, hu?" said Aiden.

"Yes, sir. Is that wrong sir?" said the noble sounding baboon, with fear.

"No, it's perfect. We can now communicate." said Aiden while going more toward the cave opening.

"Everyone, my name is Aiden and as of today, I am your new king. Those who follow me will get fame and rewards, those who betray me will die by my spear. All of those who oppose to me being your king stand up." Aiden screamed with a powerful voice. It inspired the heart of the blood back baboons and made them want to follow the man standing atop them.

"Whoaa!!"

"Long live the king!"

"Whoaaaa!"

The baboons screamed their adoration at their new leader.

Aiden had shown strength one would fear but also benevolence in his words. He had gained a territory, a crown and an army. He was fully pledged leader.

"I want the five best men in this clan to come up before me. The rest can all go back to their chores." Aiden proclaimed.

The first monkey who was kneeling left.

There was now only five baboons in front of Aiden, all kneeling.

There was the noble sounding one, the other muscular one. There also was three new face he didn't know.

"Introduce yourselves." said Aiden.

"I am Belim, sir. I am in charge of overseeing the clan daily as to make sure everyone is doing what they're supposed to." said the noble sounding baboon with a little bit of pride in his voice.

The muscular one followed up.

"I am Mekish, I control the guards, sir."

Another baboon, more small and meek than the first two raised his voice.

"I a... I am Teshu, sir. I make the model for the houses, s-sir."

Aiden looked at Teshu.

'This one will be useful for sure.'

Teshu shivered. He thought he made a mistake and looked down, not wanting to meet Aiden's eyes.

The other two introduced themselves at the same time.

"I am Lem and he is Mel, sir." said the first one, followed up by the other with:

"We make sure the clan meets its quotas in food and basic resources, sir."

"Alright everyone. You five are now my ministers."
