Tragedy

A scream left Hana's lips as her right arm and leg crumbled away.

She lost balance and fell, feeling cracks spread across her face and her skin crumble away made her scream even more.

At that moment another burst of energy rushed towards her eyes and they went through another transformation. The single tomoe in her eye spun, turning into a symbol. It looked like a shuriken whose tips had been curved and elongated.

A light seemed to pass through her eye and like a miracle, the cracks stopped spreading. The pain was still there but the feeling of her body disintegrating and the tug created by Tenko holding onto her dress, it all disappeared. She felt only the pain of her right side that had almost disintegrated.

Strangely, she could breathe, see and hear but she couldn't feel anything except for the pain, no wind, no solid ground.

She heard the sound of someone vomiting and crying. Was that Tenko?

'No, don't cry! I'm right here, I'm still alive.'

She tried to say but couldn't. Her vocal cords seemed to have vanished.

Tears streamed down her face partly because of her incapability to help Tenko and partly because of the agonizing pain tearing her mind to shreds.

Footsteps? Three pairs of them, coming in their direction! 'Hopefully, mom's in that group. She'll help him, she'll comfort him.' Hana thought to herself as she could only helplessly lie there and hope for the best.

A loud rumbling passed through the garden and everything around Hana decayed. She couldn't see it but she could hear the stone scraping against one another as everything collapsed.

She heard her mother call out to Tenko and him crying.

Hana's world started to crumble as she picked up the sound of blood gushing over the broken floor and the thud of body parts hitting the ground.

All was silent, she could hear nothing but the loud uncontrolled sobbing of her brother.

Another pair of footsteps. These ones were heavier, her fathers 'No, he's going to hurt Tenko.

I must stop him!'But she couldn't move. She tried and tried but couldn't.

"D-D-DA-DAD! DAD! I'M SORRY!", it was Tenko's voice, a desperate plea for forgiveness, not wanting to be punished again.

The ground underneath her seemed to crack again and explode outwards, away from where she saw Tenko last.

A scream, her brother's and another shockwave but again she didn't feel it.

It was then that she heard her father cry out "STOP IT! TENKO!" and blacked out.

(Tenko Shimura POV)

I jumped forward with my hand outstretched reaching for my father's face and with a guttural scream, I touched it.

"DIE! DIE!" I roared out as I pushed Kotaro to the ground and everything around us crumbled.

It was at that moment that the most pleasant feeling spread through my body.

Somewhere deep within my heart, I had always wished something like this would happen.

The itch finally went away.

With my father's blood coating my hand, a large smile made itself visible on my face.

I straightened up, my now snow-white hair waving in the wind, and looked around. Everything was gone, my home, the garden, the closest houses, everything.

As there was almost no sound I heard the slow measured breathing coming from behind me. Turning around I saw her, my sister, she had survived.

I slowly stumbled over to her but when I looked down I saw something I never wanted to see. The right half of my sweet loving sister's body was absolutely mutilated.

I could only see her back but that was enough to know that she would survive.

I reached down and was about to pick her up when I remembered what had happened, the last time I had touched her.

For the next ten minutes or so I tried to find out if there was any way for me to touch her without hurting her, and I did, by not touching her with my hands. I'd be able to move her. Through using my forearms and legs. I managed to get her to more even ground.

I propped her up. I used survived scraps of cloth to bandage her wounds.

(1 day later)

Wet, it was extremely wet and Hana felt things tapping the top of her head.

Rain, it was probably rain, her eyes slowly fluttered open to reveal a wall.

Looking around she saw a metal dumpster to her right and a pile of cardboard boxes to her left side.

She was in an alleyway, that's when the pain set in again. Her right side was burning and when she looked over she saw nothing, no arm, and no shoulder.

Hana grit her teeth as her face seemed to be on fire.

She reached up to touch it but recoiled when the pain only worsened.

For the next ten minutes, she lay there trying to fight the instinct to scream.

She became extremely vigilant when she heard the splashing of footsteps approaching her.

Looking up, Hana's pitch-black eyes met a pair of red ones ensconced in dark pits. They belonged to a young boy, around four years old with messy white hair and very dry flaky skin.

Seeing Hana awake the boy rushed forward, the half-eaten sandwich cradled in his arms forgotten.

"HANA-Chan!" he cried out, as he reached her.

"Are you ok?" the boy asked with a look of concern on his face.

Now that she could see him from up close, Hana recognized him, 'Tenko' she thought in relief.

Seeing as she couldn't speak, Hana nodded shakily by answering his earlier question.

Noticing how weak she was, Tenko shook his head "No… no you're not."

Hana smiled slightly, her dry lips cracking open.

"You need to eat something, you're too weak, Nee-Chan!"

Jumping up, he ran over to the sandwich he had dropped, "Damn it, it's all dirty and wet".

As Tenko was crouching down ready to pick it up, Hana watched, noticing how he didn't use his palm or fingers.

Cradling it to his chest, he jogged back over to her, with a smile on his face.

As soon as he reached her, he went to his knees, "Here, this is for you."

A caring smile stretched itself across Hana's scarred face.

Lifting her remaining arm, she shakily reached towards her brother.

Tenko, who had seen Hana's approaching hand, closed his eyes in fear of her being angry.

But all those feelings disappeared when he felt the warm touch of Hana's hand on his cheek.

Opening his eyes he saw his sister giving him a closed eye smile.

"H-Hana-Chan" he whispered, surprised at her action.

Suddenly she started violently coughing, removing her hand from his cheek, she covered her mouth with it.

"Hana-Chan" he exclaimed, fearful for his sister's well-being.

She coughed once more but this time blood flowed out between her fingers "NEE-CHAN!!!!" Tenko shouted, tears running down his face.

His sister's eyes were now wide open, the fear clearly visible before they grew weak and she fell to the side, unconscious.
