As the days passed by in Sett's village, we found ourselves falling into static, spending the day with Indah, visiting the apprentice, training but now with Sett's addition under the problematic gaze of his mother, while fighting in the arena at night.
They have yet to tell Indah regarding their identities and her son new addition to their faction, that was left before the apprentices were ready to leave.
It was after two days of speaking with Sett that a group of apprentices appeared in the village.
They quickly noticed this after seeing various Noxians moving towards the village gates, creating quite the scene.
Ymir seemed to notice that more Noxians started move towards them and roared once again "I told you we got not money to enter, you piece of shit, let us retrieve our friends and we'll not going to kill you all, you hear me?" Her rational aspect was nowhere to he found in front of the Noxians.
Tahru, who was usually more clever head, seemed to be infected by her actions and attitude as he was in position of attack. It only needed one Noxian doing the wrong move to launch himself at them and wreck havock.
Meanwhile the apprentices were spread in a line alongside Ymir and Tahru, ready to follow Ymir command while being eager to kill the Noxians. They were trying to contain the grin on their faces from showing up, while trying to replace it with a solemn look. Nonetheless they failed miserably.
The Noxians were looking at the group with some extend of concern, after all they didn't seemed to be a group of random people like the many they repelled before. There were ten swordsman that seemed to came from the same background, while a freljordian and a Vastaya was in front of them.
If the Freljordian was one of those captains or leading figures they heard from the Freljord, then they were bound to suffer a lot of casualties, more so when they took into account the Vastaya and his magic.
And there was also ten swordsmen, after all this time in Ionia they shared their fights against such swordman, and the casualties Noxus suffered to take down just one was nothing to look after.
Normally it would take between three to four Noxians to take down a swordman from Ionia, and that taking into account they weren't battle hardened veterans from skirmishes.
The officer in the Noxian group that was on the gate gulped down as he analyzed the situation. He then opened his mouth once again and ordered them "We cannot let you enter in the village without paying the fee, is the same from everyone and it wouldn't be fair for the others that payed their share and are inside. Please turn around and we then look your friends, or else this won't turn well for any of you." His tone was serene and patient, yet loud and firm.
Normally, Noxians were confident and dominant when talking to Ionians. This officer however, reached the conclusion that such attitude would only lead to a bloodbath that they would pay pricey to raise victorious, even with all their advantages. Thus he went for a more diplomatic approach.
When Ymir heard the officer words, a malicious grin appeared on her face as she looked coldly to the officer, just as she was about to scoff to the man's words and order the attack, she heard a familiar voice booming over the whole village loud enough to make everyone feel the voice vibrating on their whole bodies.
"Ymir calm down." It was a simply order that told her many things, but also make her grin change into a heartily smile, Tahru also showing the same smile.
The Noxians on the gate turned around towards our approaching figures, we got a bit of difficulty at first to pass the soldiers that were preventing everyone from approaching, but once I opened my mouth and said those words, they looked at me with frowns and opened at path unconsciously.
Karya and Sett were walking behind me, the first sharing the same calm demeanor that I have while Sett showing a cocky smile and looking with contempt to the Noxian soldiers.
As I looked over the back of the officer standing in the middle of road, I told him "Make way." The man turned around and looked at me from head to toes while asking "Are you the one they look for?"
But I didn't answered him and continue walking while Ymir and Tahru walked forward to met me alongside the apprentices.
"It's good to see you two doing well, we came the moment the scout and the apprentice you sent informed us about the wounded and how you were unable to move." Ymir smiled while she went to hug Karya, Tahru patted my shoulder as a greeting while I did the same.
"Good to see you Anar." His calm voice said while scaping his smiling face.
"I say the same brother, is good to see you here." I said to him while looking over the apprentices, and nodding towards them "Thank you for coming."
As I said that, I felt someone patting me heavily with a good amount of strength into my shoulder, turning around I saw Ymir giving me a grin while saying "What are we going to do, boss?" With her free hand the pointed out the Noxians with her thumb.
I looked over them while sighing deeply, and said to her "Wait for a bit." Then as I walked forward I saw Sett looking over us from the side with a wide smile and a face that told me "Am I draw or something?" As I forgot to present him formally.
Not wanting to waste time I simply said to Karya "Brief introduction of the brat for the meantime, as we need to take care of this matter before It goes out of hand." Hearing my firm tone while I walked towards the officer, she shouted to Ymir and Tahru while following me "That brat right there is with us now, his name is Sett, greet later on."
Hearing her hurried tone and words, Ymir, Tahru and Sett nodded each other, although the last have a ugly expression on his face while doing, nonetheless they stayed behind me and Karya.
"Do you speak Piltovian or I have to rely on my friend here to translate us?" I asked to the officer who showed a grim look on his face as he looked over us.
"Yes, I do speak." He answered as he analyze us from head to toes.
'Should I drop pretenses or do I keep them to prevent further troubles?' I asked to myself while quickly deciding the course of actions I wish to take.
'I have to retrieve our stuff, the apprentice, and Indah. Or else her life would he more miserable once the words of Sett joining us spread around.' My head started pointing out each points in just a second.
"I want to retrieve two people from inside, alongside our stuff and then we'll be leaving this place, you can make it so that a few guards are around us to make sure that we'll do as I said if that makes you mote comfortable, however bear in mind that I'm not planning to leave unless I took those things." I spoke in calmly while reaching over a good solution for both parties.
If I wanted to aquire this settlement later and sphere them, the best outcome will be by obtaining the favor of the locals and having a good image.
It wasn't something hard to obtain all things considering how Noxians were.
Also, a dead population wouldn't work the fields nor provide with resources. It wouldn't give us the best image in the eyes of Indah too.
When the officer hear my words, he sighed deeply while he shook his head sideways, already rejecting the proposal without voicing out "I can't do that, not only your friends aren't paying the fee, but you are also dangerous people to let you be insid-" I didn't let him finished as I furrowed my brows.
'What the hell is he saying?' I thought to myself and clarify him "We've been inside for a few days now and I'm sure you didn't have troubles with us, but not only that, aren't you seeing that I'm trying to save us that outcome we both don't want to see?" As I asked him, I questioned him with my eyes, my head tilting sideways and both hands showcasing the people behind me.
I saw the officer biting his lips in frustration, that told me he was clear about it, but it seemed he have to keep pretenses up.
"I'm going to tell you once again, I'll be retrieving two people from inside, take our stuff and leave this place. That's all, it can be just as easy as that, why make it more difficult by nonsense?" I gave him one final chance, take it or regret it, that was my posture here.
It was a nice rest that I took alongside Karya, but I was more than aware of my responsibility here, and I wouldn't leave behind a member of our faction, nor the familiar of a new addition.
The guard remained silent while he tried to decide, then I saw another soldier coming up from behind and whispering something on his ear, both of them keeping their looks between Karya and I.
"You can go inside with your group, but you'll be accompanied by a group of guards or else I fear that we have to force you to leave the premises of the village." He finally decided while resting a hand on his blade and accepting our proposal.
Noticing his words, I smiled while I said in Ionian "I see you agree with our proposal, that's good." And then I gestured our team to enter inside.
As the officer hear my words, he clenched his fist while clearly tensing up his jaws as he saw us passing through the gate "Have a group escorting them inside, make sure that they retrieve the two people we have agree and whatever is the stuff they needed, if they do anything else, you can arrest them!" He ordered with a roar and went to their barracks to calm his anger.
Meanwhile I keep a shitty grin on my face as I said to Karya "Tell Tahru to retrieve the apprentice from the medic, we'll be heading towards Indah's house and convince her." She nodded her head and started ordering in my stead.
As our group made it way through the streets, we catch the attention of the people around.
Not only the majority was armed with swords and other weapons, but there were eleven mounts being carried alongside us, while the know somewhat renowned figures of Karya, Sett and I walked at the front while being escorted by twenty five soldiers.
As the people murmured and tried to pry what was going on, we passed the arena while telling Ymir and Tahru our fights over there. Ymir at first was interested but after prying for more information regarding the fighters strength, she lost interest and continue walking.
Since the building that acted as the infirmary in this village was just the street straight from the arena, we let Tahru alongside five apprentices and a beast with a cart that was prepare to carry the man, to retrieve the wounded.
Meanwhile we didn't stopped and just continue heading towards Indah's house while we spoke with Sett how to convince her.
After a few minutes walking through the streets, the whole village was gossiping and trying to spy what was going on, meanwhile we stopped in front of the house, and the commotion, alongside the sound of the beasts, were enough to make Indah look over the window to see what was going on.
When I saw her looking over us with opened eyes filled with fright and concern, I waved my hand towards her while I saw her figure moving from the window, to moments later open the door and burst towards Sett with worry written all over her face "Son, Renzo, Karya what's going on!? Did you got in trouble or something?" She asked while eyeing the various Noxians around us.
We simply negated with our heads while Sett answered her "No mom, we'll be explaining you but first we need to prepare our things to move out." His eyes looked over her with gentleness and affection, while his tone that was gentle, also held some sort of hurry and seriousness.
Indah looked over us with confusion on her face but nodded while letting us inside.
"We'll be leaving the bags outside and all of you would make sure to carry them in the mounts." I ordered while Karya conveyed my words, as I passed through the gate of the house I head straight to our room and retrieve mine and Karya's bag.
Meanwhile Sett and Indah entered behind me while the latter asking "What's going on Sett? What do you mean by moving out?" she asked with clear confusion while remembering our talk days prior, she knew that they'll be moving out, but she thought that would be in the future and no so suddenly.
"Help me saving our stuff into bags so we can carry while I tell you , okay?" Sett simply said while grabbing his mother from the shoulders, when he saw his mother nodding, he kissed her forehead and started wrapping out their things.
"Renzo and Karya told me a few days ago that they are members of a local resistance and that they were scouting for their group, after a few talks and other things they convinced me to join with them mom, I know what you may think but hear me first okay?" As Sett started to explain, he saw his mother expression changing quickly, thus he tried to calm her down and continue "They told me that they are constructing one place around the Korale village, where we can settle for the time being and help us with our money problem. I think this is a good idea for us to move forward mom, I don't want to keep living among these people that speak so bad of us."
As Sett tried to explain his mother, he couldn't help but touch more sensitive matters that made him show his anger in front of his mother.
Andah leave the bag that was carrying and went to hug her son.
I wasn't able to hear what more they were talking since I left the house and waited outside. But after a few minutes Sett exited the door with various bags on his arms while Indah showed up later with red eyes and a sad look on her face, she turned around and looked again at her house.
Although the live on the village was bitter to sat the least, that house carried memories and a place so deep in her heart. Many things happened inside, sad, bittersweet, and the most important, happy.
With pain on her heart she had to say goodbye to her plants that she raised so hard alongside her boy, the various vegetables that she not too long ago planted while looking forward to a better future. To the willow tree in her backyard, where many nights she told Sett stories while trying to amend and ease the pain in her heart.
Those memories and those places would be left behind in such haste, that she felt like she wasn't given a chance to properly say goodbye.
Sett hugged her shoulders while gesturing to ride a mount. Indah just nodded her head while her eyes filled with water.
I sighed deeply and ordered "Forward!" As we advance once again.
Riding with Karya and Morpheus, we made our way through the streets while people around whispered among each others, they didn't dare to raise their voices and make us hear their words, but looking over their gazes laying on Indah and Sett would could get an idea of what they might be saying among each other.
Under the clean skies and the sun watchful gaze, we continue walking until we reached the infirmary once again, where Tahru joined us. As we were reaching the arena, I saw a group of Noxian soldiers squaring around three figures that were looking at us with scowls and contempt on their faces.
'They seemed like important figures, noted.' I thought to myself while not keep looking over them any longer, just showing a confident smile as we passed them.
We continue forward without any problem, as we reach over the gate the escorts regrouped with the guards around the gate and walls while the officer just looked coldly at us, seeing that there wouldn't be any parting words I just laughed heartily while saying to Karya.
"It seems like we ended up making a bad Impression over them, well whatever." I shook my head while Karya chuckled.
"Or more like it seems like our approach failed, just like our plan before, I guess we really need to work on that later." She remarked with irony, making Ymir looked behind towards the Noxians with a sinister grin while she exclaimed "I guess the next time I could rip these guys spines without any issue, right?"
Hearing her brutal remark, made not only the Noxians frown and get tensed, but our group too. With the solely exceptions of Sett and Tahru.
The first one seemed to have an eager look on his face, most likely looking forward to see such thing. While Tahru was simply too deep into Ymir.
"Save your remarks later on, we don't want to have them attacking us from behind due to your taunts." Said Karya with a stern look on her face while scolding Ymir.
The later with a "Tch." Just rested her body on her lover embrace while maintaining silence.
While the village grew further and further away from us, I asked something that was weighing on my mind since the moment I spotted Ymir and Tahru.
"How was the production? Have we sell something?" I looked sideways in their direction while asking.
Karya who was resting on my embrace also looked towards the couple with interest too, this was matter of great importance after all, the sole reason for us being here.
"Yeah, I think the first caravan was supposed to head towards that village with beast today, before we departed they were already preparing the carts and the people. You'll be surprised once you saw that place again, it changed a lot in just a couple of days." Ymir answered us nonchalantly while closing her eyes, enjoying her lover warmth.
I sighed in relief while hearing her words, although they gave little information, it was already enough to know that the plan was going well without any troubles on that side.
If they could afford to made mistakes, was in travels or endeavors such as the one we did now, where it wouldn't affect the long term goal and principal task.
"Have they sent someone to request more people?" Asked Karya while remembering the parting orders they gave to the other apprentice.
"Yeah, alongside Tomura we make sure to sent the same scout to give the message, while also informing of the advancements we made, though that part I left it for him to say him." She yawned as she answered with cozy expression.
I sighed at her attitude but let it pass nonetheless, I was doing the same with Karya and I knew it how comfortable it was, also she was Ymir, if something happened she would be the first killing someone from our bunch.
Even if she was sleeping previously.
Karya raised her head a little bit and looked at me with her eyes up "I guess now we need to start focusing on getting more rations and making more boats, we just have two weeks left after all." She said to me while I nodded in agreement.
Since the production of salt was going steadily, we just needed to focus on gathering fish to feed our army and also trade for other foods, variety was needed after all.
Tahru then added "We have to keep a good look in the balance, we don't want to anger Ionia and punish us." His voice made all the people around agree with him.
Sett and Indah were behind us, riding in silence and hearing what we were saying.
"We don't need to waste our resources and gave good use to all the wood we cut, that be enough to not anger the Spirit of Ionia." I said to Karya while sighing deeply.
That was something that really troubled and hold the development in this region. However, such limitation improved the efficiency for each resource, thus make it balance.
However if I wished to really fortified the region while also creating the enough infrastructure for another invasion, I needed to do something that could prevent such trouble from arise.
'At this point I'm already sure that the video from awaken was many years in the future, so the Noxians would surely try invade us.' I thought to myself while remembering this topic.
Why I was so sure about it, even if I didn't knew what age this was nor I have any notion of time? Well, Riven was fighting in the Noxus pits, and Yasuo lore said nothing about him fighting in the war after or prior Master Souma's death.
So, unless I was missing some sort of information, I could finally predict something important on Ionia plot in the future that I could use in my favor.
"Well, let us hope Ionia understand that we only want to protect this land and improve the people's life." Said Tahru with a long sigh while we agreed with him.
Like that, we continue talking and after a few hours Sett and Indah also started chatting with us, we used this time to properly introduce them while also explaining and apologizing with Indah for all of this.
She kind as ever only showed gentleness and didn't get angry at us, if anything she was gratified for not leaving her behind and us being willing to take with us.
Sett also started asking a lot of questions regarding our faction, while also making sure to hide his involvement with it in the future.
It was by Ymir words that she heard about Renzo's figure and achievements. At first he didn't believe it, but after Ymir chuckling and daring him to ask the apprentices, he only have to accepted after the disciples started confirming Ymir backing, while also telling their own experiences when they saw Renzo fighting against Yasuo.
To say that Sett wasn't excited by this was an understatement, although he had to keep silent regarding the many things he wanted to say, his eyes that were lost in thoughts and the sudden grin or smile on his face was enough tale to, at least, understand he was already fantasying something.
Thus, the group continue forward until the night came and they have to camp.
-----
Meanwhile the Korale Village port.
Only Irelia remained overlooking the production alongside the remaining apprentices, only five were left behind after Ymir took a ten with her and Tahru, and Hyuna alongside Tomura took the remaining one as they headed towards the village in the mountain for trading.
It could be say to be a bad situation if one didn't take into account that was Irelia, a war hero, that was overlooking the place while guarding against any attack.
Luckily there were no signs of hostility from the Korale Village.
As the night came, the worker rotated from turn and let the next batch continue producing the salt, while the carpenters and helpers did the same.
The boat production was more limited compared to the salt production, not only because it required more time and effort, but also because of the current conditions and lack of experience from the workers.
Nonetheless, they already produced two boats that were currently fishing more deep into the ocean with their fish nets.
The rate was barely enough to sustain the current working population, nonetheless they have already begun to storing the first supplies today after the boat left behind it's catch.
All in all, everything was looking good as far Irelia was aware of, her only regret was the lack of physical training these days that Renzo wasn't here. Her only way to improve was by sparring with Ymir and Hyuna but even that was nowhere of her reach today.
Thus she started meditating in front of her tent silently.
Another long night was ahead of her.
Meanwhile, a hundred kilometers away, Hyuna alongside Tomura just finished bringing the first batch of salt and trading it.
The deal was enough salt for the village necessities in exchange for more beasts of burden and mounts if the faction needed, thus after leaving the village necessity, then they traded a salt sack of 50 kg for various construction materials for their port village.
After finishing their deal, they head towards the other village that provided more mounts and apparels, when they counted the remaining salt, it was only four hundred kilos that remained for the second village, which was half the expected amount need that this village require.
Luckily, when they reached the place by midnight, they only find out that it was just one hundred kilos below the needed, thus it wasn't that of trouble.
Although they didn't get money from this trade. They provided the required part of their deal and also informed them that they could already begun to sent their beast in five more days, where they could began to sell the salt in various villages along the path.
Since these two villages held the deal of taking care of transportation, they only needed to provide the security and lead them onwards.
Thus, with satisfied smiles, Hyuna and Tomura head back towards Korale Village filled with renewed hope.
It was only a matter of time until The League Of Legends start raising.
