After standing frozen in spot for what feels like forever, I’m snapped out of my thoughts when a brunette girl walks up to me shaking her head, a smile playing on her red lips. “You’ll never be able to hold onto him. Have fun while you can, but don’t fool yourself into thinking you’ll ever be able to sink your claws deep enough into him to keep him from slipping away faster than a bar of soap.”
“Excuse me?” I ask, taken aback by her bold statement.
“Don’t pretend It's never occurred to you. He’s not the settling type. Once he gets everything he wants from you, he’s going to leave your heart in the dirt. He’ll get his fuck and be gone with the wind. He’s your boyfriend right now, correct?”
“You must have me confused with someone else. I’m not his girlfriend.”
“How did you get his interest?” she ignores me, eyes scanning over me with open curiosity.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” I answer, feeling uncomfortable and starting to feel nauseous.
