Chapter 109

After school, I went straight to the gym and made it on time for once. When training had come to an end, Riley had messaged me inviting me back to the Leisure Club. When he mentioned Amy would be there, I decided I had no desire to be the third wheel and turned his offer down. Then, Reid mentioned tagging along since he was planning on being there anyway. Two hours later, I’m walking into the club, my eyes searching around.

Instead of finding them, my eyes land on him. Ashford. He glances up from his pool table after hitting a ball and sinking two of them. He’s wearing his black cap and it shields most of his face. But I still manage to see the flicker of a smile. My heart lurches at the sight and I just want to rip the damn thing straight out of my chest. I feel a hand wrap around my arm and jerk away until I realize it’s just Riley.

“Where’s Amy?” I ask, trying to make the look on his face disappear.

“About to be coming in. She told me she likes me.”
