Chapter 108

My hands itch to facepalm myself when I realize I just thought about Ashford being out of my league, and gotten caught gawking at him. He glances over his shoulder to the person at his table, his mouth moving as he tells them something. A guy stands up from his seat and Ashford watches him disappear into a crowd of people before returning his attention to me. He strides over, enjoying my discomfort as I think about trying to make a run for it. concluding that I wouldn’t be able to get away if he didn’t want me to. My insides clench at the thought.

“Well, well,” he teases, his voice thickly coated with amusement. “Can’t get enough of me during the day so you find me here?”

“Don’t flatter yourself.”

He slides into Riley’s vacant seat across from me and stretches his long arms across the table, twirling my water in his hands and spreading the condensation on the table.
