Natalie had always been a fairly happy girl with a life that she was content with. At least until six months ago when her lifelong best friend, with who she had shared everything with up until that point, suddenly decided that they needed to end their friendship with no warning. The life that she had known and loved shattered around her, taking her with it. Now, she's closed herself off from everyone around her and made a vow to herself to never let anyone in again in an effort to never have to go through that pain again.
For six months, her plan had gone smoothly and seemed fail-proof.  I don’t crawl out of bed until noon the next day. The boys gape at me when I finally make my way down to the living room. I smile sheepishly, anxiously waiting for them to gather their bearings. Amy beams at from the couch, sitting next to Riley. After some murmurs of approval, we decide to hike one of the smaller trails. 


 The trail contained gorgeous views of the mountains but turned out to be longer than I anticipated. If I hadn’t had the training sessions with Reid, I would have had to have been carried back. Instead, I entertained myself with Colton‘s camera, snapping pictures of our path ahead, our friends, the mountains, and anything else I found to my liking. By the time we made it back to the cabin, the party that the rest of our peers decided to throw was starting.
