CHAPTER 29

Joshua found himself drawing her closer and finding comfort in what he knew was wrong. It was as if nobody else was there, just two of them and their intense stares had him seeing his lost lover in Julia and that was not the first time it had happened. The day he had accompanied her shopping was another incident still fresh in his head, he had caught her when she was about to fall, and strangely it had reminded him of her, of Melissa. Just as he roamed his hands around her back as they kissed, she was immediately snatched away and before he knew it, a hard blow landed on his left cheek his lip cracking open. Silent murmurs followed and Joshua found himself staring back at his best friend while instinctively wiping off the blood oozing from the opening
