CHAPTER 45

Two days passed with Richard moving to and fro trying to negotiate bail for his daughter while on the other with hand Julia locked up in her room with tissues lying all over. She hadn't communicated with anybody in the last two days, and neither was she in the mood to talk to anyone at all. Hunger was the last thing on her mind, and she similarly hadn't had her bath in those past two days. Dragging herself out of bed she walked into the bathroom and took a quick shower before cleaning up her room and walking out, sure to grab one of the car keys on her way out. She had cried enough, and all she wanted was to let Richard feel the pain she had felt if not double. She was going to ensure Helen never got out of prison as payback, and she was going to ensure he died a slow and very painful death while hopelessly watching his beloved daughter suffer behind the walls of the unforgiving prison. She wanted him to regret ever being a resident on planet earth and she wanted to let it sink into him that the reason he killed all those innocent lives was all but vanity. She drove out on that very lazy afternoon and in no time she had arrived on that dreaded place, a location where she had unknowingly committed a very grave mistake, a place where she landed a bullet on Joshua. She looked around and could see a disappearing trace of blood. She tried following it but it was a dead end. What had happened to the body? She then walked about asking the vendors scattered near the area if they had seen anything and showed his picture to many but nobody seemed to know anything. The least she could do was recover his body and give him a descent burial, because there was no way he would have survived a bullet to the heart, it had always been her master signature and it had never failed her. Feeling like she wasn't doing enough, she went back into the car and drove to the last place she would ever want to be, the police station. She filed a missing person's report and later drove to see an old acquaintance, Khumbu. He was a man who possibly could solve one of her problems and she hoped he had what she needed because if he didn't, she would not have the patience to wait two to three days more

"Mel, what a surprise come on in." said a heavily bearded man whose neck was encroached with a visible dragon tattoo, his height a little taller than Julia and complexion, fair

"I'm not staying long." she said walking in, "I desperately need your help i will pay any amount. Firstly i am looking for this man." she showed him Joshua's picture, "I'm positive he is not alive but i want his body found at all costs can you do that?" Khumbu looked at the picture closely before handing the phone back to her

"Send it to me. But finding a dead body is not easy so expect anything."

"Another thing, as early as today, can you get me an untraceable slow and deadly poison with no possible cure?"

Raymond stepped foot into the house his mind unable to erase the condition he had seen Helen in. She looked broken and pale. Her lips dry and cracked not to mention her scattered hair. If it wasn't for the fact that she was pregnant and was the vice president's daughter, she was definitely going to be sharing a cell with two other inmates. There had always been someone to pay at the police station, and because of that Helen was looked after not in the best manner but at least she was okay. Opening the fridge to have a glass of water, his phone rang, and it was a call he was hoping to get soon

"Ricky hie."

"Raymond sir how are you? I saw numerous missed calls i'm sorry i called late i was..."

"Ricky relax don't explain yourself. What matters is that you called me."

"I don't understand."

"Are you with Joshua? We haven't heard from him and its been almost a week now please tell him to check his phone."

"Raymond sir i don't know what you are talking about. I haven't seen the boss in like a week either."

"What?!"

"I have been trying to get to him too and its not going through. Tried to call his wife in the last two days she is not picking either."

"Thanks Ricky. Just look after the club i will find Joshua." Raymond said cutting the call. He felt like he was being attacked from all angles and he did not know what to do or where to go. Joshua never disappeared without communicating, but then again they were no longer the best of friends like they used to be but still, Joshua communicated! He could have told someone, Julia or Ricky. What he feared the most was the fact that he had made quite a number of enemies when he was still an arms dealer, so what if they had come for him? He then gulped a glass of water before attempting to call Julia but it went straight to voicemail. What exactly was going on?

Night came, and Julia kept pacing to and fro hoping to hear the bell ring. Khumbu had promised to try his best to deliver the product, and with the way he loved money, Julia was convinced he would go to the ends of the earth to get her the poison. The bell at the gate finally rang interrupting her thoughts, and she quickly walked out to find a capped man standing by the gate. He handed over a wrapped parcel before disappearing into the dark. That was one reason she liked Khumbu, the last minute deliveries. She walked back inside and made an immediate bank transfer before he called to tell her to. He was very impatient with his money, he gives, you give, there and then. She went on to scramble to her room all ready to pack and leave. She was ready to ensure Richard never made it past the end of that week all in good health. She was ready to penetrate past all the security and heavily armed guards all to get to him. She was ready to put to use the real reason why she chose to become an assassin in the first place and she was ready to get rid of the nightmare that had haunted her for as long as she could remember. She didn't want him in jail or dead, she wanted him alive and suffering. But in order to do that, only one person was capable of being her pathway

"Raymond hey. I saw your missed calls i'm sorry i was caught up." she said as soon as he picked up, "How are you?"

"I'm fine thanks. I was little worried but i'm glad you called. Have you heard from Joshua?"

"No i haven't. I filed a missing person's report though i hope he surfaces soon."

"I hope so too. I visited Helen again today."

"Oh my God Ray how is she is she coping?" she said in the fakest voice she could fish out

"She is trying. She is strong and i'm sure dad will pull something off. Its wearing him down as well." Julia smirked at that and felt sorry for him because it was about to become worse

"I was thinking of coming over and staying at your house for a little. You sound distraught and i need help with finding Joshua. If that is a problem don't worry i can...."

"I was hoping you would ask."

"Really?"

"Yes really. I would use a friend right now and so would you. And we also need to work on us i feel distant there is a lot we have to archive together so i would love it if you come over."

"But Ray what about your father?" she asked hoping for a sound answer. She would do anything to get into that house without being suspected of anything. Only then would she successfully strike

"You will come in as Helen's friend. Don't worry about much i will take care of it and besides, father is not in his right mind right now so he won't care much."

"Are you sure?"

"I am. See you tomorrow." With that the call ended but as for the fun, it had just begun.
