CHAPTER 46

Julia locked up the main door just as Raymond loaded her suitcase into the car. She lingered by the door for a while, the memories of Joshua walking in and out playing at the back of her head. The more she thought of him the heavier her heart became. She stared at her phone screen hoping for a call from Khumbu but there was non. She was worried sick, and she couldn't tell Raymond the what truly happened. Did he know Joshua was a paid assassin? That was her question and she was going to ask him. Maybe later. Her main focus was Richard at that point. She wanted to strike and get out of the house within two days. And day one had just begun. The car hoot brought her back to her senses and she turned to see Raymond all settled ready to go. She then looked at the house one last time before taking the further steps, landing on the front seat next to Raymond and driving out. As they drove out, her memories circled around all those days she would drive in and out with Joshua. All those days he would drive out with a a guaranteed return. She remembered when he hugged her the last time she saw him. He had asked her to fix things with Raymond. So he knew might not see the light of day again

"Penny for your thoughts?"

"Huh?" she said clearly appalled. She was losing her sanity bit by bit. And the more she lost it the more her anger arose. Directed at Raymond's father Richard. He had caused everything, and she was going to make him pay. At that rate she was sure she was going to run mad, but there was no way she would before killing that psycho. Her hands itched for his blood, his sorry face and his death. She was going to make him pay

"Are you okay? You seem distant."

"Yeah yeah i mean...i'm just thinking nothing else. Just keep driving."

"Is it my father? I will take care of him he won't bother you." said Raymond with a slight smile

"I know you will." she whispered and stared out the window, in her head perfecting all the steps she was yet to take in that house. Soon they reached the house and to say Julia was surprised would be a lie. She had never been inside, but she had spied on it long enough over the years to even know where the kitchen was located. She even had a drawn structure of the house at her old home, and the whole of it was now encroached in her head. She knew it all by heart. There were guards all over, and outside only they counted up to almost twenty all loaded. The house was huge, and she knew there were numerous more inside. One of them ran over after being summoned by Raymond. He wore a blue work suit and boots, a visible scar mauled right below his right eye

"Is father around?"

"No he is still not back."

"Good. Take these bags inside and leave them inside the guest room next to Helen's room. Don't tell him i have a visitor once he gets here. I will do it myself."

"I will have to check the bag before taking it inside sir." Julia swallowed. There were all things deadly inside

"She is my visitor and harmless. Take the bag inside." With that the man carried the bag inside while Julia and Raymond followed suite. As she walked beside him he showed her a few features but as she looked around she wasn't looking at the so called mesmerizing features, she was counting the guards

"You have a lovely home." she smiled to avoid being caught not paying attention

"You haven't seen nothing yet." he responded as they got inside. She had to admit. It was one of the most beautiful houses she had ever set foot in, but her attention still stayed on the numerous guards. They were stationed anywhere and everywhere

"Ray, how do you live with so many guards?" she asked paving way for the ultimate question

"Dad knows that Helen and i don't want any of them anywhere near our rooms. So they guard his room and the rest of the places. He even has some in the kitchen." Julia gasped at that. She had to come with another solution and fast

"So how many are they i mean how does he even keep count?"

"There are 60 of them. Well the last time i checked there were 60. Scattered around different places. Strange but we grew up around them so we used to it." he said as they climbed up the stairs

"That means he added 20more." she whispered

"You said something?"

"No no. I'm just thinking out loud this place is amazing."

"Apart from the guards it is. Here is your room and the next one belongs to Helen. Come on in." he led the way and the room was spacious enough. Big enough to accommodate her privacy

"I have a virtual meeting in fifteen minutes. I will come check on you later feel at home okay?" he kissed her forehead before closing the door on his way out. Julia went on to lock the door before scattering her weapons onto the bed. The idea was to deliver a clean job no fighting with the guards, but a girl is gotta have plan B in case something happens. Plan C too, even D. After confirming she didn't forget anything she packed everything back and took a quick shower, preparing herself for a house tour and a new best friend, the chef.

The doctor walked out of the cell just as Dylan surfaced. A smirk decorating his handsome features

"Close my cell gate please." said Helen to the guard but Dylan dismissed him. He walked in and sat next to her, she looked miserable

"You can never escape jail twice Helen. Its not possible."

"I'm not feeling too good sir. Let me rest the doctor recommended it." she said it in the most humble voice. Prison sure had a way of changing most people

"You can tell me who killed Darian and his men you know. Whoever it is is still out there living his best life after killing a dozen men while you are here pregnant in a prison cell after killing just one soul. Do you think that's fair? Or...was it Timothy?" Helen looked into his eyes, in her head pitying him because he had no idea how much she wanted to spill the beans. If she could she would have, but in the words of her lawyer Prim she couldn't, it would lead to her being charged with two murder crimes and no possibility of ever coming out of prison

"Detective, i may be pregnant, but i'm not stupid. I am only going to serve jail time for one murder which whether you like it or not was self defense and nothing more. Now get out of my cell before i start screaming." A defeated Dylan walked out and never looked back. He felt frustrated and useless. Nevertheless whether he liked it or not he was going to have to leave that case lying cold because whoever the murderer was, he was a force to be reckoned with.
