“What if she doesn't accept?” Hector asked Felipe who was checking his laptop.
“I’ll do what I have to do.” Felipe didn't even take his eyes off the screen.
“You know you don't have to, I’ll take care of everything, even-” He was cut off before he could finish.
“Stop it, I said I’ll deal with it. I’m the boss here, and I’ll do what I need to do without blinking, so stop treating me like a fucking child.” Felipe said aggressively.
“Sorry, sometimes I forget how much you’ve changed.” Hector said with affection.
Felipe didn't respond. A few minutes passed in silence.
“What if she agrees?” Felipe said eyes fixed on the screen, but he had no idea what document he was reviewing.
“IF , and I think it would be a big if, she agrees there will be an adjusting period. We’d have to get her a guard, to be with her 24/7, and not just any one. Someone we can trust, preferably outside the family. We’d have to get her some necessities, and of course a new attitude. But foremost we’ll be needing a story.”
“A story?”
“Carlos WILL ask you to explain your marriage to her, it will draw everyone’s attention. So we need a solid alibi. A believable story, preferably something in the lines of her falling in love, and you being possessive or something like that.”
Felipe banged his head against his laptop, “we’re never gonna get away with this are we?” he said, his voice muffled by the keyboard.
“Our chances are low, specially considering your mother’s reaction.”Hector chuckled.
“Oh, hell. I completely forgot about her. Dear lord I’m screwed. FUCK.”
“But there is a bright side, if we pull this off you’re free. No more pretend girlfriends, no more dealing with hookers, no more suspicion. She can be your excuse for the rest of your life.”
“My head’s pounding.” He murmured.
Hector got up and got him a glass of whiskey, “drink this and go to sleep, you can’t get shit done in this condition.”
“Alright, thanks.”
“Go on kiddo.” Hector said patting his shoulder.
