The Legend of Grim reaper

CHAPTER 2 — JULIE'S DISCOVERY

Julie was in the laboratory one day. She had some chemical formula in her head. She just wanted to get it out. She mixed lots of components until she arrived at an alien chemical solution. She had perceived it to be supernatural. She had wanted to write down how she arrived at the orange/purple colour of the acid element, but she couldn't remember how. It looked strange to her.

Within seconds the element started boiling in the triangular prism, Julie had stored it. She moved to it before she could understand what was going on the element broke, lots of it splashing on her. She became enrobe in a blue cloud as she saw herself in another world.

"Where is this?" Julie wondered. There were lots of beings. Magicians, wise druids and lots of sorcerers. She later noticed that she was in Medronz, the land of magic.

"Yes. You have arrived safely." An old man welcomed.

Julie had mysteriously landed in a small cottage.

"Where am I?" She wondered with fright.

"You are in Medronz, a magical world. You are Julie." The old man said moving around the house to get a small stool for Julie to sit.

"How did you know my name?" Julie wondered.

"I am Alrodes of Nafitath. I brought you here. Those compositions were not of your human mind. I got into your logic." Alrodes said, sitting down.

His room had been stocked with ancient herbs, magical books, scripts and lots of ancient stuff.

"Why did you bring me here?" Julie asked, she wasn't relaxed yet.

"I looked into the future of Madanland. A man of great powers will steal people of Madanland one after the other, till Madanland becomes empty and then dominated by transforming masquerades that will work under this man. You are one of the knowledgeable chemists…"

"Then why choose me?" Julie interrupted.

"Because I saw you first and most especially because you look like my beautiful Fadarela" Alrodes turned pale. He had a wife named Fadarela, but she died in the hands of a wicked sorcerer. Alrodes wasn't there, he could have saved his wife. But just like Angela's disappearance, the sorcerer left a green locket and a note. On the note was written 'Grim Reaper'.

"Grim Reaper killed my wife. Although I think she is alive somewhere. The opening of the green locket was interpreted as 'death', but my Fadarela is still alive. You can help me. I saw you and another figure. But you have to help me that's why I called you into Medronz." Alrodes stood up, he went into another room as he came out with a brass box.

"Here. This book contains a key, with this key you can reach out to me whenever you need help and whenever you've found my Fadarela. I'll do anything to help you. Take." He handed the box to Julie. "Keep it safe," Alrodes added.

Julie nodded. Within her short stay at Medronz she had come to like Alrodes.

"It's time for you to go. Duties call at the other end. The right time will come, then you will know when to come to Medronz. Take care. Goodbye." Alrodes clapped his hands over Julie's head.

Julie woke up in her laboratory to find her triangular prism gone. The strange element had vanished. But she had an item with her. The brass box. Julie could remember all that happened in her short travel. She hid the brass box in a safe behind her laboratory walls. It was safe where she put some special chemical components. And since then she had been making, producing extraordinary devices that aided her work, making her the best official at Egborton.

"So that was how it all started." Julie sighed after her tale.

"So am the other figure?" Michael thought out.

"Of course you are. And I see it's high time we move to Medronz." Julie said. She stood up to prepare some coffee.

"Yeah, fill my cup to the fullest," Michael ordered.

"Of course boss." Julie laughed.

They had a nice time drinking up the coffee.

"This is delicious. I guess you also made this?" Michael winked.

"Of course." Julie nodded with a smile.

It was 5:00 pm

"I need to go see Andrew and tell him about this." Julie listened to "Andrew. Yeah! He must be involved." She nodded.

"Exactly. So see you tomorrow. Be at alert. Thanks for the coffee." Michael said, picking up his car keys.

"Hey! Do not mention a word of my travels to Medronz, and my secret laboratory to Andrew." Julie warned.

"Even without telling me. I wouldn't cry a word out." Michael pledged his loyalty.

"Alright then, bye," Julie said.

Michael nodded in reply as he went out of the apartment. In minutes he was at his apartment.

He went to take a shower, afterwards, changed into a short knicker and a singlet. He opened his rollovers and sat down with his laptop on the arm of the sofa.

There was a knock on his door. It must be Andrew.

"It's Andrew, open up," Andrew called. Michael opened his door.

"Pal, good evening. Come in." Michael invited.

"You're unusually quiet, what's wrong?" Andrew asked.

Asides from the fact that Andrews worked for Michael, he was his best friend.

"Where is Angela?" Andrew searched.

Angela would always be with Michael at 5:00 pm in the evenings. Most times she spent the night in Michael's house.

Angela is independent, her family lived South of Madanland, while she lived in the North of Madanland. She is a fashion designer having her fashion outfit at the centre of Madanland.

"She is gone." Michael cried.

He had fallen on Andrew's shoulder as tears streamed down his left eye.

"How?" Andrew became alerted and worried. He was Angela's relative, a distant cousin.

"I don't know," Michael said, taking his seat.

"You don't know?"

"Umm the thing is Julie found a note and a locket on the bed this morning when she came to visit…"

"Yeah go on," Andrew urged.

"And she found those items." Removing the note and locket from the shirt he had worn at that incident before now.

"Hand it over." Andrew reached out for the items.

"Grim Reaper" He gasps. "Was that why you asked me to google Grim Reaper?" He looked puzzled. Michael nodded.

"So, how is Grim Reaper a reality? 'Search' has it that he is an imaginary figure" Andrew said, eyes popped out

"Yeah, but he is real." Michael went to play the disc, as Andrew watched with rapt attention.

"This is outrageous!" Andrew exclaimed.

"Yeah, outrageous, but we've got to help Angela. The locket contains a Logo-gram that needs explanation. An explanation that I need you to join me in finding. Julie knows a man who could have the interpretation. Andrew, please help me. I need to rescue Angela." Michael pleaded.

"Julie's computers couldn't interpret the logo-gram?" Andrew stood in wonder. Michael nodded.

"Is this all the details I need to know?"

"Hmm, there is more. The man's name is Alrodes. I think Julie would take up the remains of the explanation." Michael said.

"Offer me a wine," Andrew said.

Michael went to pour out some wine.

"Take it." He handed it to Andrew.

"So when are you setting out for this Alrodes man?" Andrew gulped down his wine.

"We have two days to get prepared."

"So we've got Thursday to set out."

"Yeah."

"Alright."

"That's what I wanted you to know." Andrew stood up.

"I'll be up now. It's 6:30 already and it's dark. Goodbye, do take care of yourself and don't hurt yourself. We'll find Angela. Take care buddy." He headed towards the door. Michael stood up to walk him out.

"Yeah, I will. Take care too and extend my greetings to Delphia. Bye." Michael said then closed the door.

"Whew!" He sighed as he went in to get some sleep.
