The Legend of Grim Reaper

CHAPTER 4 — MEDRONZ (LAND OF MAGIC)

"I thought you were gonna be late," Julie laughed.

"Of course not, never will be," Michael said.

"What have you got?" Andrew asked Julie.

"I have chemicals carefully packaged in my bag" It was a small bag with six space which could be tied around the waist.

"Yeah, always chemicals," Andrew flattered.

"What else do I have? Well these chemicals are important ones I know I would need them that's why they are added"

Michael's eyes popped out in admiration.

"Does Steven know about your mission to the Nafitath?" Michael asked.

"Sure, he does," Julie said affirmatively. She had made cookies and dished them out to her friends.

Steven was Julie's fiancé.

"Where is the key?" Michael asked.

"It's under my bed," Julie replied.

When they were done eating, they took hold of their equipment. Michael's waist all securely packed with pistols, and short knives, so also were Andrews'.

Julie had her chemicals around her waist. She gave Michael and Andrew a communication system mobile phone which she made herself.

"Yeah, we need this" Michael said.

"Thanks" Andrew appreciated.

"Ready?" Julie asked

"Yep!" The guys nodded.

Julie brought out the brass box. She brought out the key and the small container which contained some liquid.

They all had drops go down their throats.

In a few minutes, they were in Medronz, Julie opening the door of Medronz.

It was like in the fairytales. But Medronz was in the midst of white clouds having some black among them. There was a magnificent door whose key Julie held. The clouds were the walls supporting the golden door. Anyone from the ordinary human realm who had the key of Medronz could enter into it, but only before 9:00 am any morning. They stepped into Medronz after unlocking the golden door. They met a tall white goblin who looked like a human, only that it was huge and tall.

"What do you seek for in the land of Medronz?" The white goblin asked, quite surprised. It's been ages since humans had invaded Medronz.

Atlas! The whole of Medronz was at alert that the land had been invaded… by humans.

"We seek Alrodes of Nafitath" Julie spoke

"Alrodes? Ohh gentle Alrodes" The Goblin smiled beckoning on them to follow him as he led them across the glittering path made of silver.

Michael marvelled at the beauty of Medronz.

"Never seen anything like this before" Andrew gasps

"Of course" Michael whispered.

"What are your names?" The Goblin asked

"Am Julie, and these are Michael and Andrew, my friends," Julie pointed out.

"You're quite informed of when to get to Medronz" The Goblin noted.

"Yes, may I know your name?" Julie asked.

"Of course, I am Orion" The goblin courted.

"Orion" Andrew echoed.

"Can you take us to Alrodes?" Andrew asked.

"Of course. You're most luckily informed because getting to Medronz after 9:00 am, the evil goblins patrol round to cause havoc. If you had arrived after 9:00 am, you are likely to meet Madacus – the destroyer" The goblin informed walking them along the long narrow silver path leading to the woods.

"Thank the gods we're on time" Michael praised.

"Yes," Orion agreed.

"We need to get out of here, it will be after nine soon. Madacus and friends must not find us here. They will rule this part of Medronz till it is twelve am the following morning" Orion informed.

"Oh! Then let's hurry" Julie said, increasing her Steps. Michael checked his wristwatch.

"Lord! This is after nine! Madacus would soon or is already here" Michael panicked.

"Oh, we need to hurry. Madacus has started his journey." Orion started a race. Julie, Michael and Andrew joined in the race.

They had just reached the shade of a purple apple when Madacus got them.

"Oh yeah," He grinned.

"Have got spicy yummies here. Attack!" He ordered his servant goblins.

"Run!" Orion cried.

They had run a distance when Michael started shooting at the goblins. The bullets make them charge stronger.

"You're not helping matters with those bullets!" Orion warned.

The bullets were like stones on the goblins.

"None must escape..! Devour them! That lady must be caught alive!" Madacus commanded.

Madacus is the Ruler of the evil goblins – He is the destroyer of the noon. His terror starts at a minute past nine in the morning till twelve in midnight. Any human or inhabitant of Madanland who has come their way got destroyed.

The entrance of Medronz turns a forbidden path to any weak or up and coming druid, sorcerer, witch, wizard or magician.

Julie was captured by one giant goblin.

"Have got the lady my Lord!" The giant goblin bowed to Madacus.

"Good! Get her into the chambers of eve (a cage) Derros!" Madacus commanded.

"No! You can't have her!" Alrodes appeared from the thin air.

"Alrodes!" Madacus gasps.

"They're my visitors, so release them to me" Alrodes commanded.

"Well then, you can have the men, but I've to keep the lady" Madacus stood aside Julie.

"All of them I say!" Alrodes commanded.

"Then we'll need to go to war!" Madacus protested.

"Madacus you know well that Alrodes of Nafitath doesn't have to waste his magic and powers on Madacus, a monster goblin" Alrodes clapped.

"Of course then!" Madacus charged after Alrodes, grabbing his cloak. He drew him up to the muds. Now they were off the silvery path and now in the woods.

Boom!!! Alrodes fell with a loud crash.

"Urgh," He grunted in pain.

"Now let's see how powerful Alrodes can get you out of this" Madacus laughed wickedly, taking Julie with him in a cage.

"Alrodes, do something!" Michael panicked, shaking the unconscious Alrodes who laid on the ground.

Angrily he loaded his pistol and gave a thundering shot at Madacus.

"What a huge stone!" Madacus stopped, as he turned to strike Michael with a red thunder, sending Michael into a terrible crush, where he laid grunting in despicable pain.

"Haha" Madacus laughed.

Julie in a state of panic, not knowing what to do, shouted "Help"

"Little lady, you should do yourself some good by shutting up, 'cause you're too stunningly beautiful to remain little. I'm going to turn you into a giant female, just like me. We monster goblins don't mind being nine inches taller than the white goblins. And certainly, that will do, to make you my wife" Madacus said kneeling down unto Julie in the cage, as he let out a mischievous laugh.

"Your wife? Never!" Alrodes got up now walking towards them, with his right first two fingers he let out a ball of fire, shooting it at Madacus, blowing him down unto the dust.

"Orion go free Julie" Alrodes commanded.

"What about the rest of his goblin servants, they are charging towards us?" Orion feared.

"Then use your powers, while I back you up," Alrodes said. He commanded lots of fireballs towards the goblins. Orion went towards the cage where Julie was held, hostage.

Derros got out to attack while Orion had reached for the keys which were carefully placed at Madacus' waist belt.

Alrodes had thrown fireballs of weakness and slept on Madacus.

Julie saw the act, Derros was bringing out his sword to thrust into Orion's back. Julie reached for one of her chemicals. She called it 'Celeron'. It made large objects, living or non-living turn small. Quickly emptied the content on Derros as he had almost thrust Orion. Helpless Orion, Derros turned to a small, short goblin, as short as a rat.

Orion went to free Julie.

"Why didn't you use that stuff long ago?" Orion scolded.

"Didn't remember I've got it with me" Julie breathing hard.

All gathered together

"Let's get Michael before the spell I cast on Madacus wears off," Alrodes said.

The wicked goblin servants were just too terrified to attack since Derros turned tiny.

Michael was found in the mud of 'poos' of animals. He laid painfully, breathing slowly.

"Let's help him up before he dies," Alrodes instructed. Andrew lifted his friend up.

"Alrodes thanks for showing up. I have to go. Bye," Orion waved at the rest and disappeared.

"It's time we also vanish out of here. Let Madacus rule" Alrodes said, and they all disappeared.

They appeared at Alrodes place. "Place him on the bed" Alrodes pointed at a small room whose door was opened. Andrew took him there.

"Julie can I see that chemical you poured on Derros?" Alrodes asked.

"Yes, here it is" She handed the last one to Alrodes.

"You had only two?"

"Yeah. I didn't think to go through this ordeal" Julie sat on a chair, an exhausted chair.

"Well, lesson number one, always plan ahead, be prepared, because you never can tell what lies ahead," Alrodes lectured.

Julie nodded in consideration.

"Now help me, and watch me prepare some healing herbs," Alrodes instructed.

Andrew had come to join them.

"He is breathing slower" Andrew panicked.

"Place the oxygen you brought on his nose for a while" Julie instructed. She helped cut and squeeze out the juice from yellow leaves.

"Put that in the red liquid," Alrodes instructed Julie.

"You just have to get Panash leaves (The yellow leaves), get them cut and squeeze into the red juice of red hibiscus, then mix. Apply or drink. The healing is absolute" Alrodes taught.

He did just that and Andrew and Julie watched.

"Give it to him to drink," Alrodes said. Julie gave Michael the concoction, and Michael was healed immediately. He woke up healed to join the lunch.

"Welcome to Medronz, the land of Nafitath. This is my kingdom and I rule it" Alrodes said

"But you live in this simple cottage," Andrew wondered.

"Yeah. Nafitath is a simple land. Only the good at heart dwells here. If you look around here, every inhabitant lives in a simple cottage. It's not that I can't have a castle, but Alrodes loves simplicity. I live in the heart of Nafitath. I have a son who rules in my place at the outer Nafitath. You don't have to worry your head when in Nafitath, because there are good people around here." Alrodes assured.

"Hmm" Michael relaxed.

"I felt myself flying in the air. It was enjoyable, not until I fell into that ditch" Michael laughed.

All laughed.

"Get relax, eat, sleep and have fun, tomorrow will be for talks and find outs. Don't worry, the day is always longer in Medronz" Alrodes assured.

"Oh yeah" Julie relaxed.

"In this cottage, I feel like a princess!" Julie exclaimed happily.

"I would have loved to be in this real fantasy with Angela, but am here to save her" Michael dropped sad.

"Hey! Why not cool out. Today is all we've got to chill, because tomorrow will uncover lots of mysteries" Andrew said, taking a bite of cake.

They had it all cool, and enjoyed their walk around a few places in Nafitath. Then came back to get their night rest.

"Whew! Tomorrow we'll get answers" Julie sighed as she pulled the blankets over her head.

Alrodes was in the living room meditating.
