School, The Bullies, And Food.

Pyry's face was the same as usual, ever blank with half-lidded eyes. He ate silently at the dinner table, with John who sat silent as well.

"Pyry, how was your day at school?" John finally broke the silence, unable to handle it. Usually it was Elizabeth who spoke first, he and her would start talking for hours.

"It was boring. Yours dad?" Pyry asked without looking up from his food. He may find it tiring, but Pyry wasn't against small talk, and he knew John needed it now more than ever. Even if it distracted him from his food.

'The man deserves at least this much.' Pyry thought. John truly was pitiful after all, his real son was dead, and his wife had just died. What was left of his family was him, Pyry. The person who brought all these disasters to this poor family.

He really was a parasite, and a good-for-nothing. "It was fine, you know… usual." His dad's voice was mellow as he mumbled those words.

"Hmm." Pyry hummed in response, and the table was engulfed once more in a deafening silence. Neither of the two men said anything further. Dinner soon ended and both went their separate ways, one in the living room watching TV, and the other playing dark souls.

John knew the boy was grieving in his own way… he- he was right? He had to be, his mother just died. Johnathan only then started getting doubts about his son's capability to feel sadness and empathy.

Sneaking up the stairs, John quietly opened Pyry's door that was slightly ajar. When he saw surprised him, Pyry was lying on his bed face up, tears rolling down the side of his face. Seeing that sight made John sigh for even thinking about his son being unfeeling. The kid absolutely loved his mother!

As soon as John got down the stairs, Pyry threw the covers off himself, wiped his fake tears and red eyes, as well as the snot he prepared, and turned on the console. After that, he opened dark souls and resumed playing. His father checking on him was just a small setback for his gaming.

Well, when you've learned practically everything or did everything, there isn't much fun in doing something productive or socializing. After all, he's already been there and done that, so what was the point?

...…

Akari and Pyry were sitting next to each other at their desks in the second grade classroom. Currently, Mr. Phil the teacher, was teaching math, simply… exquisite.

Pyry sighed with his cheek resting on his palm, how many times' has he had to relearn this subject at school? Too many to count. It wasn't even his best subject, but after thousands of years of learning, he managed to memorize it.

Poke. "Hehehe!" A giggle.

A sudden poke and giggle broke his stupor. His eyes rolled over to Akari, the offender. She grinned, and had a playful look on her face as she leaned over to him.

"Hey, you wanna play at recess? I got some good stuff." She whispered secretively. "Not really…" Pyry told her bluntly, making the little girl pout in sadness.

"Why not?!" She whined.

"Because I don't want to today. I'll play with you tomorrow, okay?" Pyry told with his usual dead face.

"Mr. Phil! Pyry and Akari are speaking!" A snitch told on them.

"Pyry, Akari! How many times have I told you not to speak while I'm talking?" Just as Phil was about to scold them further, Akari pointed at the boy next to her

"Pyry started it!" Pyry then preceded to get scolded.

...…

Pyry got shoved to the ground, three boys stood over him, glaring at the emotionless boy.

"Is something the matter?" Pyry asked. These three kids just waltzed over and suddenly shoved him, what was their problem?

"Do you think this weirdo feels anything?" One boy said to another. The slightly taller and bulky boy furrowed his brows as he thought, only for a malicious grin to appear on his face.

"Why don't we test it to find out, you know, experiment and observe like Mr. Phil taught us!" Stephen proudly told them.

'Kids are seriously cruel.' Pyry thought, but it was their funeral.

"You know, I may not feel much, if anything, but you guys certainly do." Pyry butted in on their "intellectual" conversation. Making Stephen, Jack, and Lint, a bit angry.

"Hey! We aren't talking to you!" Jack growled, extremely adorable.

"Haa…" Pyry just sighed, he didn't want to beat them up. Maybe he should just let them beat him? He didn't want to get in trouble at school for injuring/bullying a few kids.

'Yeah. That sounds good.' Just as Pyry lied down, and spread out on the ground comfortably, awaiting his beating, a voice confronted the bullies.

"Stop it! Leave Pyry alone!" It was of course Akari. She stood in front of Pyry with her arms spread out, guarding the boy. She needed to protect her best bud, he was too defenseless and surrounded!

'It's a job only I, the great Akari, can do!' Akari thought as she stood off with the boys.

"Hmpf! Let's go!" Stephen snorted and turned around, Jack and Lint following after him. They knew that Akari was like a demon when it came to play fighting!

'Those boys were quite cute. Acting like a group of thugs at eight.' Pyry thought with a small smile, before turning his head sideways on the ground, to look at Akari.

"Thanks Akari, you really saved me there." Akari grinned broadly at his praise.

"Of course! Only I, the great Akari could stand up to them!" She placed a hand on her puffed up chest, as she pride fully exclaimed. Yes, Akari was still the cutest kid.

The bell rang soon after.

...…

Pyry lied on his bed with his hands behind his head, thinking. 'I think we're going to move soon.' After all of his experiences, just by observing his father's actions, and with some past information, he could tell that they would move in a year. Previously, they had his mother who also worked, Elizabeth and their friends were the reason why his dad didn't take the promotion. They would of needed to move, as he would've become the head of a department in the city that was two states over.

He would also of had more responsibility and less time to spend with his family. But now that his mother died, they only had one source of income, and his father was probably going to take the offer now after some consideration.

Pyry sighed, and laid on his right side, using his arm as a cushion. "Pyry! It's time for dinner!" His dad called out from the bottom of the stairs.

Pyry sat up and hopped off his bed, going at his own pace of a slow walk down the stairs. He washed his hands in the bathroom before entering the kitchen. Pushing out his chair, Pyry took a seat at the dining room table.

Todays menu was spaghetti and meatballs, a simple Caesar salad and steamed green beans as the side. Pyry, unlike his slow walking self, focused solely on digging into his food with his knife and fork.

'Thank hell Elizabeth was the one that died.' Pyry thought, his mother couldn't cook for shit despite insisting to cook.

He would never say no to a good meal. He could remember some of his earliest lives that he starved or scrounged for food out of the trash. It was terrible, so even though John would probably die or be arrested in a few years, Pyry would be thankful for him for now. Despite ignoring the fact, that he could cook better himself, and that, he was too lazy to do so.

A five star chef he was.

...…

Pyry lied in his bed, full, tired, and bored like usual. He closed his eyes and started to go to sleep. Only for eight minutes later, he pulled out his phone from under the covers and started watching cat videos.

Yes. This, this was what kept him going up until now! Pyry felt reinvigorated as the videos purged his soul, and he closed his eyes after shutting his phone off, and actually went to sleep.
