Zero Is Nothing

Three had stepped out of the car when she realized her house was silent. With a young child and a husband who came home and was exasperated with said child, there was no way there would be silence. It was impossible.

Her stomach sank as she looked at the lack of light in the living room window. A part of her was ready to turn and run like she had been taught to. If she knew she would be hurt and it wasn't important for her to go inside, she was told to run. And she really wanted to. But she was not just an agent anymore. She had fallen in love with a man and had a child whom she loved more than her life. So, she said fuck you to her gut and slowly walked to the front door. She unlocked the door after taking a deep breath and then entered.
