Sarahs rings started turning faster and faster, soon becoming so fast that they barely are visible, the only thing Vernond could see was a blur.
The ship started humming lightly and very soon was vibrating a bit. As the seconds passed, the vibrations got stronger and stronger, however, it once more vibrated strongly, before everything went quite again.
Sarah said after that. "You should prepare yourself, we will soon jump to the destination. The first jump always is a bit stressful and unpleasant, though you will get accustomed to it quickly."
He was confused for a second as he knew nothing about a jump or anything like that. However, as he must have had a confused look on his face, Sarah explained to him.
"That's one of the things I couldn't tell you as we got interrupted, but the ship is able the do warp jumps, that means instead of the FTL drives your old ships use, we can, by bending the space at our target destination and our own and then connecting both, almost instantly travel to everywhere in this galaxy, however as the space is only shortened greatly, we still need some time to arrive. But it's extremely short if we don't travel to other galaxies."
"The ship has much much more function than that, but I'm afraid we have to postpone that for later. The warp drive is ready."
With those words an enormous whirlwind appeared in front of the ship, so great, it reached even beyond the borders of the widest part of the ship.
The blue whirlwind, which had some white in it, slowly spun, while in the middle it seemed to bend inwards.
As it stabilized, the ship slowly started moving forwards.
It looked incredible, a ship so wide it could be a planet and even longer actually started moving on its own towards the whirlwind.
While it moved forward, one would be able to discern more and more. The part which Vernond saw before, turned out to be just on of three enormous slightly bent metallic spikes.
They started at the back of the ship and while they bent inwards, slightly, looking nearly like fingers, trying to grab the ship.
The front got bigger the further back one got, but around the middle section, the ship got a bit smaller, having lots and lots of giant doors.
At the absolute end, there were surprisingly no engines or anything visible, one have to wonder just how such a giant object would move.
However, at the moment the ship was slowly but surely passing through the whirwind.
…
Larson smiled brightly at the sight that greeted him, on the screen in front of him was the surrounding space shown with different objects shown.
They looked a bit like spear tips, got four corners and got broader the further down you got. Their height was about 4 meters (4.4 yards) and many of them were damaged, parts of the hull missing on others, there were electric sparks coming out, and some even had whole parts missing or were split apart.
However, they weren't the only objects seen. There were other, slightly bigger spaceships, which had big arms in front of them to grab things, like the capsules or other sort of junk and such.
Those ships numbered around 10 and were actively collecting the around one hundred more ore less intact capsules.
After they collected them, they brought them inside one of the hangars of the ship, where twenty or so people already stood and waited to capture the soldiers inside the capsules.
One of those capsules was just brought in and the man in charge shouted loudly. "You know what to do lads, ready up and whoever brings that one down, will be rewarded hahahah."
The pirates around him were excited as they thought about the money they would get for selling these soldiers they captured. Maybe there would even be some women among them with which they could have fun.
As for being caught none of them even had a thought about it or would even in the slightest be worried, after all they had a ship that was bigger than most cruisers of the Norsu Coalition as well as the Saris Empire and which power would send an entire fleet with battleships after one pirate ship in times of war.
One of the pirates went forward with a small device in his hands, which he placed on the hull of the capsule, before quickly retreating to the others.
It took a few minutes, however after 5 more minutes or so, the capsule finally split open, revealing the insides and the soldier, holding a gun in his hands, watching them cautiously.
He wanted to say something, however one of the pirates simply fired his gun at him, shocking him, but it seemed normal to the others.
The gun looked slightly different than the ones from the other pirates, and the moment the soldier was hit by it, he went stiff for a second and then simply fell unconscious to the ground.
The man who was seemingly in charge of the pirates assembled simply gestured forward, for one of his subordinates to take him into the cell area.
He was in a great mood, knowing he would be rewarded handsomely from the big boss for capturing so many new prisoners.
In the command room.
Larson still had a smile on his face, having just received a report that everything is going on smoothly, he could already imagine the faces of the slave traders, the moment they saw his great catch, after all it wasn't everyday that anyone would catch slightly over a hundred, just minimally injured soldiers.
But at this moment a warning popped up on his screen, warning him about space fluctuation, like someone was coming towards him via the FTL drive.
His face quickly lost the smile, before he immediately ordered the pirates to get ready for battle.
However, what he saw the next second, was something beyond his even wildest dreams, as an enormous whirlwind in a blue and white color appeared at the edge of their operational field, stretching to immense length.
And in the middle of it he could see something metallic coming out bit by bit, slowly but surely showing it's true size.
