HPMRS CH 127: Base!

Early the next morning, Ryan woke up from the bare board bed. This should be the worst bed he has ever slept in, but it would be nice to have a bed in this world. He could have slept in one if he hadn't been too tired to remember that's he's a wizard and has the Myriad Realms store.

After eating compressed dry food delivered from the World of Plants vs. Zombies for breakfast, Ryan returned to his house and used the gold found yesterday and the small pebbles picked up in the river to make several runestones. It was noon when Nate got ready to go to Diamond City to investigate the situation. Ryan stopped him and passed the rune in his hand.

"There are six rune stones here, three are for invisibility, and three are for investigation. Just put them on your forehead for three seconds and it will work. The invisibility rune can make you invisible for five minutes, while the investigation rune can make an illusory map appear in your mind, showing all lifeforms within 30 meters of you. Finally, I wish you all, best of luck!"

"Thank you!" Nate hesitated first, but then he took the rune stones as if thinking of something. Then he said to Ryan: "Will you take care, rather keep an eye on my wife, I'm afraid she'll follow us, after all, she should not experience any cruel things."

Unlike in the game, Nate did not let his wife go on an adventure with him. Instead, he put his wife in a relatively safe Sanctuary Villa.

Thinking about it, how stupid it is to let a woman who was just an ordinary woman take war level risk: not only can she not provide much help, she will be a dead weight.

When Nate walked to the door of the settlement, Ryan heard him shouting: "Nora, don't worry, I will find our son. Ryan, I will definitely bring you enough samples when I come back."

After Nate left, Preston proposed the idea of rebuilding the militia. Preston Garvey is a senior officer of the Commonwealth Minutemen, a volunteer defense militia operating in the Commonwealth.

Once it was a militia well-known throughout the wasteland, but their headquarters were destroyed, most of the generals sacrificed themselves to protect and fulfill their duty, the various militia settlements turned into a mess, leading to mutiny and infighting. This process naturally led to the withdrawal of a large number of people.

In the Quincy Massacre, only one militia force went there to support and almost got completely wiped out. The people rescued in the museum were the survivors of the Quincy Massacre and the last minutemen, Preston.

Therefore, after successfully settling down, Preston, an idealist, naturally proposed the goal of rebuilding the militia.

"Well." After listening to Preston's passionate speech, Ryan asked his own question: "Why do you want to rebuild the militia, rather than settle down now and live in the Sanctuary Villa?"

"Because I think that when the militia existed, the people of the Commonwealth lived much better than they are living now. Maybe I am a little overwhelmed, but I still think that the Commonwealth must have defense militias."

"I think what you said makes sense, but I don't think it is time. After all, there are less than ten people here, and we are also powerless for many things." Ryan said, spreading his hands.

"Can't you summon robots? I think they should be able to provide enough labor." Preston said puzzledly.

Ryan was a little bit dumbfounded: "This is not a free ride. I just used some things from the world over there. But that is also a post-apocalyptic world similar to this one. Now, these are all they can spare us in good faith. Don't ask for a mile when you're given an inch."

"Sorry, I didn't know this. "Preston continued after apologizing. "But other people are still in danger and need help. If we want to rebuild the militia, we must let them know that we are reliable."

"I'm not opposed to helping others, but I think we'd better finish the construction of the base in these two days. At least we need clean water and sufficient food. Because it is not sufficient to rely on the patronage of the other world. My friends we are working hard to develop high-yield seeds that can adapt to the environment here, but we need time and samples."

"Samples?" Mama Murphy took out several kinds of seeds from her pocket: "Are these okay?"

"Ah, thank you so much." After Ryan finished speaking, he squeezed a handful of seeds from each of the several seeds and then opened the space door. And the seeds were thrown in. "I think if there are more samples, the speed of research will be faster."

At the end of the discussion, Preston can only admit that a Commonwealth Minutemen, which is in an existential crisis cannot recruit people. If you want to recruit people, you must solve your own problems first.

So the final result of the discussion is to build a settlement as quickly as possible. After that, everyone got busy in the afternoon, and Ryan built an altar as usual to soothe the local dead souls.

Then used the natural affinity to find the most suitable place for planting on this land, planting the local seeds, and then add sunlight crystals underneath.

After doing this, everyone in the settlement saw that the plants had completed the growth process that should have taken days or even a month to complete in just half an hour, just like a fast-forward video.

So the settlements now have enough to feed all the farms, which are full of a variety of fruit trees, corn, melons, and carrots. This allowed Ryan to obtain the nickname of Wizard in a short period of time. Of course, this nickname made him dumbfounded because he was originally a wizard.

This also made Ryan discover that the people in the wasteland didn't seem to have a bad view of magic. After all, it was not easy to live in such a world, and no one would pay attention to such boring things. So Ryan also began to use his magic freely.

In addition to Ryan, Studge also played his own hands-on ability. One afternoon, he used the remaining steam energy reserves of the robot to build an electric furnace. Later, several wind turbines were made to power the electric furnace, so that the energy tower was finally re-ignited. However, due to insufficient energy, the steam produced every day can only be used for the activities of two robots. But this also greatly reduces the amount of labor for everyone, at least a lot of heavy manual work was done by these robots.

In the following week, everyone has been strengthening their strongholds. Ryan uses the ability of natural affinity to integrate his plant knowledge to study local plants, and then transmits the research results back to the world of Plants vs. Zombies every day. And failed to persuade Mama Murphy to get rid of her dependence on chems, maybe it's for the good as a quick drug withdraw may even cost you a life.

When it finally came to the weekend, Dave told Ryan that he had cultivated a plant adapted to the environment: energy coffee beans.

This coffee bean can be planted in a strong radiation environment and can gather the surrounding energy in its fruit. The energy contained in these fruits is even greater than that of sunlight crystals. Unfortunately, they cannot be used for plant cultivation because they are too violent, but they can be used as a kind of high-energy fuel to supply energy towers. At the same time, after multiple plantings, all the radiation in the local environment will be effectively reduced, so that other plants can be planted in the future.

It seems that Dave has researched a treasure, at least Ryan thinks this thing is no different from a legendary level creation. As a result, the possibility of building a base in this world is getting bigger and bigger.
