I Can't Wait To See Him

The Princess of Avaria who was known for her unrivaled beauty was really here to settle the matter?!

General Cassius finds it hard to believe it. Wasn't she famous as an elegant and well-sheltered Princess? Why must she, of all people come here?

With disbelief, the General shifted his gaze to the Prince who was just... calm?

"Alright. We will let you know our response soon," Karium Maselli simply said to Captain Jonan. Shifting his gaze to the surprised General, he said, "You should go and see the messenger off."

Though General Cassius was curious about what the Prince had in mind, he complied with the order without asking anything.

Once Karium Maselli was alone, he rose from his seat and his gaze was fixated on the part of the map that covered Avaria. While he was thinking of what the messenger just said, one place in the map distracted him.

The Parov Mountain.

All at once, the day he spent with that stranger crossed his mind. He thought of her often while he was on his way back to Welahan. However, the moment he reached his kingdom, he was instantly busy with the border affairs.

She was an Avarian and he wondered if she would be willing to spent time with him if she knew his identity that day. He was well aware of how the Avarians saw him as a great threat.

Will she think the same?

While he stood still and absorbed himself in his thoughts, General Cassius walked inside the tent again. When the General saw the Prince who seemed to be zoned out, he was stupefied!

What had gotten into him?!

"Your Highness, what are you thinking?"

The General's voice snapped the Prince out of his stupor. Then he quickly shifted his gaze to Cassius who looked at him with a surprised face.

"Nothing," he muttered and sat down again.

"Are you planning to have the meeting with the Avarian Princess?" General Cassius quickly asked. His amazement was defeated by his curiosity as this wasn't a trivial matter.

The fate of the two kingdoms depends on this.

"Maybe," Prince Karium simply said, much to the frustration of the General.

Didn't the Prince know that curiosity almost killed him?!

Karium Maselli looked at the face of the General and his expression made him slightly smiled. "The intention of the Avarians is obvious."

Finally hearing the normal response, General Cassius becomes more than attentive right away. "What do you mean, Your Highness?"

"The Avarians can make use of this matter as a justification to attack us but... they want to settle. They also know that it hasn't been long since we fight a war and how we aren't that strong right now. But still, they decided to put aside their pride and ask to negotiate," Prince Karium explained.

General Cassius gave a thought and raised a brow when he understood the situation. "Are you saying that they only want to stall some time?"

Karium Maselli nodded. "They want to be stronger to have an advantage over us."

"Then why did you give them that response? Shouldn't we turn them down right away?"

"No," the Prince promptly said. "The Avarians aren't wrong. Fighting them now is too risky for us. They aren't someone we should underestimate."

"But they will only become stronger if we just let them be," General Cassius argued.

"I know, but still, that's our best choice for now. I'm sure that my brother will also agree to this," the Prince stated and paused for a while. "I wonder who comes up with this plan. It can't be General Korin. This isn't his style," he muttered.

It seemed like someone was planning to play some game with him and... he wasn't a fan of such a thing.

"Your Highness, the Welahans sent a messenger."

It was early in the next morning when General Korin relayed the arrival of the messenger to Princess Yara. The latter commanded to let the messenger in. Then one Welahan soldier made his way inside the tent. He halted when he was a few steps away from the Princess and bowed.

"Greetings, Your Highness. I'm Captain Evan Matias of the Welahan Army. I came here to relay the response of His Highness Prince Karium Maselli," the soldier said to the Princess.

"Please go ahead," Yara Amiel replied to the Captain in a calm voice.

"His Highness is interested in the negotiating talk. However, he said that he will be the one who set the time, place and the number of escorts allowed for the meeting," Captain Evan informed the Avarian Princess.

The Princess briefly glanced at General Korin and nodded. As they were the ones who proposed the meeting, they expect this much.

"I'm fine with that," she said as she shifted her gaze back to the messenger.

"Thank you for your understanding, Your Highness," Captain Evan said and added, "The meeting will be in the evening and it will take place near the banyan tree that separated our two kingdoms. Both sides can only bring three soldiers in the meeting."

Yara Amiel gave a quick thought before she nodded. "Alright. We will be there."

Once the Welahan soldier left, General Korin quickly walked forward and stood in front of the Princess. "Do you think the Welahans will attempt to play any trick, Your Highness?" he promptly asked.

"I don't think Karium Maselli will stoop that low," Princess Yara simply responded. "He is always on the centre of everything whenever it comes to warfare and all. He won't want to be seen as a liar."

"So, we will comply with his plan?" General Korin asked and added, "We proposed the meeting. What do you plan to offer to him, Your Highness?"

"Let him take the lead for now. And about the offer... I think we should hear him out first." When something crossed her mind, she looked at the General and asked, "Have you ever seen him?"

"Yes, once. But I don't see him that clear," General Korin replied and added, "Maybe the rumor is right. Prince Karium doesn't like showing his face to his enemies."

"Really?" the Princess muttered and her lips curved into a playful smile. "I can't wait to see him."

How did the infamous God of War look like? She can't wait to know that.....
