Should We Just Give Up On Welahan?

Nicklaus Elan quietly ate with Kiara. Though he was mostly aloof, he often talked a lot when she was with him. But that day, it was different.

Kiara just thought it must be because he was sick. So, she didn't ask him anything and instead, she glanced at him from time to time. Maybe the Commander noticed this. He finally spoke up.

"Did I make you uncomfortable?" he asked her.

"No," she responded. "You're sick, so I understand."

"It's not because I'm sick," Nicklaus Elan promptly said and turned to her. "It's because I have so many things on mind."

"I don't think Welahan or your Elan Army will be in trouble if you brush it off your mind for just a day," she pointed out, somewhat sarcastic. "Don't you have capable Generals?"

"I have," he said, feeling amused by her words. "Seems like you have no idea of how important the Commander's presence is."
