" Hello Sir, Welcome to the Island, Can I please have the name you have reserved by?" said the employee with a tired smile and fake enthusiastic voice.
Hua just smiled back, feeling guilty that he would have to trouble the employee before him for a few minutes. 'I'm sorry, but I hope you understand.'
"Hi, I have a beach house under the name of Li Hu," said Hua 'Misprounce your name to get him confused'
The employee, looked through the sheet, twice. With a confused face, he said, "I'm sorry sir, could you please repeat that, I didn't get you the first time." "Sure, it is under Li Hu" Hua repeated, 'Take the bait, come on.' While the employee with a worried face looked through the sheet, Hua looked back at Wei and Liang who were still talking to the couple who were standing behind them, blindly trusting Hua.
"I'm sorry sir, I know it's taking some time, but I can't seem to find any name like that." The employee said worried tone while still looking at the sheet.
"Really? I remember reserving it under the same name?" Hua said with a confused tone, 'Take a pause, Act a little worried and confused, and 1..2..3'
" Do you mind if I take a look at the list?" he said as he slowly leaned towards the employee, 'come on let me look.' and the employee did.
Hua looked through the sheet, heart beating loudly, as he kept praying in his head while looking through the sheet for a Zhao Shufen, but wait Shufen wouldn't come alone? what if they have given the other two's names. Yes, he should look for even their names, Wu Kun and Huang Zhen. His eyes darted from top to bottom of the page, slowly carefully not to miss even one name. He even found his own on the second page.
He let out the breath he didn't even know he was holding, as he read the last page, last name. No sign of any Zhao Shufen or even Wu Kun and Huang Zhen. 'See, simply you were so worried! told you it wasn't him' Hua thought in his head.
He then looked at the employee and said, "I think I saw my name on the second page". The employee turned to the second page, and Hua pointed at his name.
"There Li Hua," he said as he pointed at the name. The employee looked at him for a second. He swears the customer before him said LI hu! Maybe he heard wrong. So, without giving it much thought, " Yes sir." He said, he then turned to his colleague and said. " Bungalow number A1009" the other employee nodded looked at the sheet to see the allotted golf cart. He then called out the cart number on the microphone.
Within a few seconds, a cart parked beside them. The driver got down and greeted Hua. He smiled back, as he called out to Wei and Liang informing them the cart had arrived. While Wei and Liang said goodbye to the couple, the driver helped Hua put in the suitcases and they got on the cart.
"Why did it take so long Ge?" Liang asked. They were now driving through the roads, beautiful bungalows, and palm trees around them with an occasional view of the beach between the houses. "Nothing much the employee couldn't find my name," Hua said as he smiles. He was finally at peace. He looked at the sun. which was now low, beaming at him, his skin feeling warm, air blowing through his hair, and his heart light. He was happy ... he was content. His worries were wrong, he didn't have to fear anymore. He started giggling. Liang and Wei looked at him confused but didn't care. Their Ge looked happy. They were happy and that's all that mattered.
"WOW! just look at this !" Hua said, staring at the house before him. "Are you sure this is our Bungalow?" He questioned the driver who was helping them move the suitcases inside. "Yes Sir! I'm sure it's yours" the driver said laughing slightly. Once all the suitcases were inside the house, Wei, Hua, and Liang thanked the driver. "It's my pleasure," He said. " Before I leave, can I check your driving license?' He asked the three, who immediately rampaged through their bags to search for it and handed it to the driver.
He looked through the license and then with a nod, handed them back. "As you know how to drive, over here" He pointed at the key holder behind the front door of the bungalow, " You will see the key to the cart outside. Please feel free to use it, and if you were want to be driven anywhere on the island you can just call the reception asking for a driver, we will be here to pick you up." with that they left the three alone.
Once they closed the door, the three started to look around the bungalow, it was beautiful, with 1 room on the lower floor and a huge living room with a balcony towards the beach, a fully furnished kitchen, and 2 rooms on the first floor. The lower floor room might be the master bedroom looking at the way the room was decorated, it also had a bathroom attached to it and a big window showing the beautiful view of the ocean. The above room also has a similar design but it was a bit smaller and had balconies staring towards the sea. Once they were satisfied by looking around. The three crashed on the sofa in the living room staring at the sea view in front of them.
"It's so beautiful, I don't feel like going back," Hua said after some time. "I know right Ge, did you see the master bedroom... The view is really pretty from there." Wei said with a smile. Liang just agreed with the two, As he got up. " But for me, it's the kitchen, it's just so well furnished, makes me want to cook again," he said with a smile. "Of course, you will look in the kitchen. 7 years later, I'm still shocked over the fact that you got into Writing and not Cooking!" Hua said laughing. Liang just shrugged.
"Right, I remember during our high school, when Liang first started to cook for us!! I miss his cooking" Wei said with a fond smile. " You remember when he made lasagna for the first time?"Hua said. "Of course how could I forget, Liang cried so much that day as it didn't turn out right" Wei started laughing recalling, tiny Liang crying while showing Wei and Hua, the burnt lasagna. Some Good times they were."Yeah! he wouldn't let us taste it ... but it was good" Hua said as he laughed. He remembered how in order to make Liang stopped crying, even if he objected Wei and Hua started stuffing the burnt lasagna into their mouths. Yes! it was burnt but it was tasty.
Once the laughter quiets down. Wei realized something, He looked up from the sofa, Liang was nowhere to be seen. As if sensing something fishy, Hua looked around, they noticed Liang's suitcase was gone and suddenly they heard a click.
Click? they stared at each other for a second before realizing what happened. Liang just tricked them and took the lower floor room. The biggest and best room. As if a silent agreement that it meant war. They both jumped out of the sofa running towards the next best room at the count of three.
