The Boys Went Out On A Trip Again

Yun Che took everyone to his Space that night, including all Chaoyang Squad 2 members living in the next door. Heiyu put on a serious attitude and checked the spiritual attribute of everybody. He then taught them how to draw Qi in the body to the core, which was the so-called Cultivation of Qi. Only by drawing Qi into the body could one enter the phase of Cultivation of Qi. The phase had 10 stages in total. The more refined Qi was aggregated at the core, the higher stage one would be at. Apart from Yun Che, the master of Space, succeeded at the first try, others made several attempts. Tonight, they all embarked on a journey of cultivation.

"I'll go with you."

No one was tired the next morning even though they hadn't had any sleep, instead, they were highly spirited. Although none of them had a breakthrough, the cultivation made them energetic. Even Mrs. Kong didn't seem ill in the wheelchair. Her face looked bright and full of spirits. So they decided to go tame the mutant pandas as planned.

"No, you can't. Stay at home. You aren't allowed to go out until we're sure you aren't pregnant."

"What?"

Yun Yao gave Yun Che a dangerous look. Although Yun Che found it ridiculous, he realized everybody was on his sister's side. He could just beg, "Guys, come on, it's only been days, am I supposed to stay at home for a month? I'll die of boredom!"

Yun Che didn't follow the guys to every quest but he would join them from time to time. Also, he used to keep himself busy by messing with Wei Kan. Since Wei Kan had been quiet for some time, what could Yun Che do to kill time if he was forbidden from going out? He couldn't sit around and watch Cheng and Chenchen play all day, could he?

"It's just a month. You can cultivate yourself in Space if you got nothing to do."

Yun Yao didn't care about what her brother thought. All she cared about was her nephew. Her brother's feelings weren't important at the moment.

"Sister, come on. I'll go crazy if I'm on cultivation 24/7. Don't worry, Heiyu and I just go to have a look, we won't do anything."

"What, master? I never said I'd go with you. Don't count me in, OK? I can't transform at the moment, what if those mutant beasts don't submit to me? I'll be screwed! I don't want to die like a fool."

Before Yun Yao talked him back, Heiyu jumped on to Yun Che's shoulder. Yun Che glanced askance at him. "As if you are going to join the battle. Don't try to fool me, the Wolf King was still afraid of you even though you were too tired to open your eyes. You want to die, huh? Just say the word, I'll make sure you can never breathe again."

"No, no, no. Come on, master, I was just joking. I'll go, OK? But you're a pregnant guy and you'd better act like one. You can't have blood on your hand, that's inauspicious… Arrwuff!"

Before Heiyu finished speaking, Yun Che threw him away in anger. Everybody mourned for the puppy but he had it coming because he kept babbling while he knew Yun Che hated to hear "pregnant guy" the most.

"Che…"

"Sis, I promise I'll stay away from the battle. If you don't trust me, you can ask Cheng and Chenchen to go with me or have Xing Feng watch over me."

Yun Che preempted his sister, who gave her brother a glare. "Cheng and Chenchen listen to everything you say and Xing Feng always indulges you. They would be the worst supervisors."

"How about you come with us?"

"Get lost, I'm busy. Fine, you can go, but promise me you won't join the battle, otherwise, you won't be allowed to step out of the house again."

Yun Yao knew her brother was messing around but she let him go at last. They both knew that no one could really stop Yun Che from doing what he wanted to do.

"Where are we going, uncle?"

Chenchen looked up at Yun Che with his twinkling eyes while sucking the milk bottle. He was kept at home for days. Ever since he was injured, he didn't even go to kindergarten. All he did every day was play with Uncle Cheng in Space and he had gotten kind of bored. Kids always liked new stuff.

"You aren't going anywhere! They're going on a quest, why do you need to go with them? Don't listen to your uncle."

Yun Yao gave her son a glower. Chenchen lowered his head in disappointment. "OK."

"Brother, I want to go."

Yun Cheng didn't care if his sister would scold him. He'd been longing to go out. Now that he got an opportunity, he couldn't wait anymore.

Yun Yao looked at Cheng and sighed. Yun Che nodded with a smile. "Yeah, sure thing."

"Great! Great!"

After getting the permission, Yun Cheng kept nodding happily. After breakfast, some went to the hospital, some went to the laboratory. Superfunction possessors were ready to go on this quest led by Xing Feng and Yun Che.

"Uncle…"

When his mom was paying attention, Chenchen eagerly watched them with two hands on the doorframe. Yun Che looked back and felt bad for the boy before getting in the vehicle. Xing Feng picked the boy up before he went back to get him. "You're in observation period."

Ha, Captain Xing, too, looked forward to the baby, or else, he wouldn't be so enthusiastic.

"Fine."

Yun Che couldn't stand those loving eyes. He grabbed Chenchen's hand and asked, "Do you want to come?"

"Yeah, yeah."

The boy kept nodding. His watery blinking eyes were full of expectations.

"Fine. Come with us, then."

Yun Che endearingly pinched his tiny cheeks, but before he turned around, Chenchen murmured, "But mom.."

Yes, he would love to come along but his mom would be mad.

"Go, just go. I don't understand why the three of you always like to go out so much. But Chenchen, you can't disturb Uncle Leng, got it?"

Yun Yao's voice came from behind. How could she not indulge her own son? She didn't have the heart to lock the boy in the house seeing he craved for this trip so much.

"Got it. Goodbye, mom."

Upon hearing this, Chenchen beamed. Yun Yao reluctantly waved goodbye to them. She didn't walk back into the house until the two vehicles faded into the distance. She had to go back to deal with the wedding. When everybody was gone, a slim man walked out of the ally between the houses across the street. The man got an average look but his sly eyes were a notable feature. The man looked in the direction where the vehicles went and then at the house that Yun Yao lived. He licked his lips and put on a spiteful grin. He soon faded into the ally as if he had never shown up.

Today, Chaoyang and Peak people were going to tame mutant pandas. They weren't going to go on any quests, so they didn't drop by Superfunction Association. When they met Joy and Loser at the rendezvous point, the four squads went straight out of the base. The guards at the base gate wondered what kind of operations required these four squads, but no one asked. Vision-enhanced superfunction possessors saw Yun Che in the vehicle. They didn't want any trouble because their memory was still fresh.

"How many mutant pandas did you run into?"

The base kept expanding, the third wall was in construction. The villages where the mutant pandas roamed were far away from the base. Yun Che decided to learn some information in advance. Today, both the core unit and the detachment of Peak participated in the operation. Every Chaoyang people came apart from Zhao Gang because he had to finish this scheduled quest. Joy and Loser sent their elite forces as well. If the pandas crushed this elite team, that would be embarrassing.

"Nearly 20. They were generally as big as elephants but much swifter. Even the smallest one was in the size of a bull."

Much as Chu Haoling hated to recall his defeat, he replied to Yun Che in a grouch. He looked up a lot of information on panda after he came back and had learned that pandas were solitary animals. Even the male and the female lived separately. Every panda roamed in a territory of 4-7 square kilometers, but the herd was made of every individual that lived in the same environment, shared the same food source in a certain area. They maintained a relationship of counterbalance and codependence as a whole. After mutation, the animal nature wouldn't change, that was why Chu met a large group of mutant pandas.

"OK. Let's make the plan based on the actual situation later. Chen, Lei, you cut down the bamboos and help me dig up some shoots if you can. I'd like to try to grow bamboos at home."

In his Space, of course. If Ye Xingchen did manage to tame a mutant panda, they would have to feed the creature, right? Bamboo grew fast. In the right condition, it could grow ten centimeters overnight. And it would only grow faster in Space. Yun Che figured if he brought more shoots back home, soon, there would be a large bamboo forest in his Space.

"I brought a rather large team this time. How about all level-4 guys help you fight pandas and level-3 guys cut down the bamboos and dig the shoots?"

Peak and Chaoyang couldn't always do the hard work. Chen Hua offered help for conscience' sake. You scratch my back, I scratch yours, that was how humans society works. Others couldn't take advantage of Chaoyang and Peak forever.

"OK. Let's decide when we get there."

Maybe no battle was needed at all. Yun Che didn't say this because Heiyu wasn't in the best state. What if he couldn't intimidate the mutant pandas?

"We're going out. Be ready, Cheng."

The barbed wire was ahead of them. Xing Feng spoke to the walkie-talkie. There were four vehicles. Yun Che tricked Yun Cheng into taking the third one for everybody's convenience. Leng Yehan, of course, was with him, otherwise, Yun Cheng would have thrown a tantrum.

"I got it! You're annoying!"

Yun Cheng was annoyed when someone he wasn't familiar with gave him the order. He was still upset about being separated from his brother. Leng Yehan held Cheng's hand tightly with a smile.

"Uh…"

"He doesn't like me, huh?"

Xing Feng thought. Yun Che sniggered. When the vehicles drove out of the barbed wire, a layer of air membrane wrapped the one Yun Che was in. Meanwhile, Yun Cheng's powerful air radiated. The zombies made way for the vehicles. Soldiers of Base Defense, survivors came to seek shelter and superfunction squads all gawked at the four vehicles driving out of the base like a king going to inspect his territories.

"Are-are my eyes deceiving me? Are the zombies scared of their cars?"

"Yeah, I see that, too."

"What did Captain Yun do again? He's become sicker and sicker!"

After a while, the zombies swarmed over again. The superfunction possessors couldn't believe what they had just seen. "Are they really humans like us?"

It appeared that there would be more talks about Chaoyang and Peak in the base!
