"Brat! Are you an awakened now?!"
By the time they got to their apartment quarters, Rudy looked left and right, trying to inspecting some people in the surroundings carefully. He locked the door quickly and grabbed Ling's shoulder with his eyes, glittering in stars as the excitement got ahead of him.
He thought that maybe Ling awakened because he was acting unusually ever since morning.
"Really?!"
"Wow! Brother's gonna be able to help us! Yehey!"
"Hmmm..."
Lina and Lex questioned Ling with delight and smiles on their face since they knew those awakeners with incredible superpowers Luna is thinking about his brother's odd acting in the morning and thinking like her Gramps.
"Umm... Yes, I am an awakened now,"
Ling awkwardly replied, knowing that all of them knows the impact of the awakeners in the current state of the world.
So here's the recent situation of the world. It's gonna be a little bit longer but please bear with me.
Ling and his family lived in the Capital of the Philippines, Metro Manila. Although the Capital's name didn't change for over millennia, Metro Manila is a metro-like city with a lot of advanced infrastructures and products that are available to the citizens and the rich. There are also Human Confederation's Military Barrack and Radio-Thermal Patrol Towers inside the city and across the islands and shores of the Philippines since they are frequently decimated by the Corrupted Nagas and Murlocs that lives in the Pacific Ocean.
Other countries such as Japan, Indonesia, Australia, Arabia, and so forth with the coast countries are getting gobsmacked by the so-called [Tide-Dwellers] which is comprised of Corrupted Nagas, Murlocs, Hydras, and a lot of corrupted sea monsters which is part of the human massacring organization [Tide-Dwellers]
So what is the Corrupted-Corrupted that am I saying? For those who didn't know, Corrupted is the term of a creature that is brutally exposed in Malicious Qi and strengthen by it but the cost is their mental consciousness subjecting to the ferocious Malicious Qi that only Devil or Demon can create.
This is why the Human Confederation is built on, to protect the civilians and the world from the danger that the universe has imposed on humanity and their homeworld, Earth. Human Confederation or HC is an organization which composed of superpowers countries as well as weak countries and tasked with the job of protecting and nurturing some best of the best elites of Humanity.
As for how the hell Corrupted Beings are decimating and reproducing inside of the world while hiding even though Human Confederation are vanquishing them and they won in the War of Immortals. The other Ling and his family didn't know since they are just civilians and they don't want to know it in the past cause it will only bring them confusion and distrust at the Human Confederation.
But now that the current Ling is interested in this kind of thing, Ling will prevail whenever the problems in his life come.
*Grooowllll*
A loud shrill of something broke the optimistic atmosphere in the earth as Lex's head is down and holding his stomach, attempting to make a sound.
"HAHAHAHAHA!"
Noticing Lex, Ling and the 3 laughed in tears, cackling in Lex's cute attempt.
"Looks like Little Lex is hungry, let's go and eat!"
Glancing at the clock saying 11:30 am, Ling persuaded them but he discovered that the 3 kids are dejected as Grandpa Rudy bitterly smiled at him.
'Ah!'
Ling exclaimed and recalled that they are just eating the supplies given by the HC which is freely available for the low-class citizens of Metro Manila.
The supplies are packed with nutritions and tasty since it was been modified in that way as a lot of citizens including Ling's family are grateful but they can't just eat rations for their entire lifetime, aren't they?
'We don't have enough Human Credits so that's an X. Hmmm, Ah!'
Ling crossed his arms and racked up some ideas inside of his head, thinking about solutions in this current situation until he found a great idea with some little bit of experiment.
'The food resource of the system!'
Ling summoned the system interface in front and clicked the [Inventory] feature to see different kinds of familiar icons he knows in the past such as the weaponry slots and the man who sits in the lotus position.
[Cultivation Gift] x 1
[Foundation Pills] x 5
[Food] x 65
Spirit Stones] x 160
[You received 100 SS, 100 Food, and 5 Foundation Pills]
All of the items are helpful cultivation resources for him as he clicked the [Cultivation Gift] immediately.
'Hmmm... If I remembered, the resource received will be thousand in all aspects but in this case, the items—Nah, fuck it,'
[Food]
[Materialize?]
Suddenly, Ling felt a soft and squishy object in his right hand.
"Isn't this the [Food] logo of the system?"
Ling stretched his right arm to discover a white thingy that looked like the Chinese steamed bun, Baozi. Also known as Siopao in the Philippines. The Siopao is one of the few food delicacies that the Philippines grew accustomed to the Chinese since the Era of Trading. It has a fluffy and warm texture with meaty fillings inside, making it so delicious especially when it was warm and freshly cooked.

He had a mixture of pleasure and disappointment since the system gave him a necessary type of resource but the outcome is not what Ling wanted to be.
Ling crossed his arms and once again racked up some deep thinking.
"This brat, what am I gonna do with you?!" Seeing the expression on his grandson's face, Grandpa asked Ling but the latter didn't respond.
"Brother, Wake up!" Lex tried to wake up his brother in his deep thought by shaking Ling but it is futile.
Meanwhile, Grandpa and the 3 kids are perplexed by their brother's action and sighed. They knew that Ling was in the overthinking process again so they attempted to broke his thought process.
Inside the system, Ling was still in his deep thoughts until the light bulb in his head lightens up.
"Aha! Maybe I could use my imagination and then materialize the food. Let's try it since there is nothing to be done with."
Ling's eyes shined enthusiastically with some sky-high curiosity.

I'm sorry if I didn't publish any kind of novel for the past month and this week of July. I'm busy with a lot of things including the way of this story. I have a lot of ideas but I am desperate to execute the things since my English is bad and I'm heavily reliant on Grammarly. But I will still do write and finish this shit.
