Chapter 20: Flowing Currents

After Lea and Rowan had returned to the Palace, Rowan had spoken to her council about the skirmish she had seen. Because of her inexperience, those around the table were skeptical of her report.

“Are you sure they were men?” She was asked by King Gregan’s advisor, Edaat. “Perhaps they were celebrating a festival or fighting some sort of Elven rebellion.

“It was a fight,” Rowan was shocked, “My eyesight is good, and I know what I saw.”

“We can send some scouts to see if there is anything we should be aware of.”

“You should send scouts and armed men!” Rowan exclaimed, but her urgency was lost on dull ears.

After several more minutes of arguments, and brushing off King Gregan’s heir, the advisors left and Rowan stormed out of the room.

“General Tarik,” she called, hoping her uncle’s general would at least listen to her. “I would like to show your where this fight happened. I really don’t think any of your men, or those from the city here would be picking a fight with the Elves.”
