Chapter 46: Return of the Fat

Elduine leaped into a run, shouting orders to the Elves as he went. Rowan watched the Elven general gleam regally in this armour, placing his helmet with an experienced hand. Reaching the gates, he gave Rowan a long look with his icy-blue, elven eyes, then went inside.

“Is the portal still open?” Gruffydd asked. “I shall call my warriors.”

“It’s open still,” Rowan called, staring at the black swirling mist. The two other Fae had not moved since their leader engaged Elduine. Now they quickly joined Gruffydd, who spoke to them in a strange tongue. One, dressed very similar to Gruffydd, hesitated briefly before going back into the mist. Within moments, the sound of a thousand running feet could be heard. The portal’s arch grew in size and figures began to appear. Fae of all different sizes, shapes, and colours started to come through the arch. They would nod briefly at their King and continue in every direction.
