Chapter 54: Willow

Willow took the first exit ramp off 528 north to George King Boulevard. She would have enjoyed following it to the restaurants, splurging on a nice meal by the water, but Benson had other plans. In his last text, he had told her to meet him at Rodney S. Ketchum Park beside the bridge that led to the shipping ports. So, instead of traveling down George King Boulevard, she turned left at Glen Cheek Drive and then made another left on Mullet Road, heading around the shipyard and several closed businesses, all dealing with the world of boats and marine life. Mullet Road curved right, opening up into a small parking lot. She could have driven on if she wanted, passing under the bridge and heading west to whatever waited out there. She felt ashamed that she lived here her entire life and rarely visited this area. She vowed to remedy that—but not tonight.
