"What do you mean by broken promises?" Clarissa asked in a nonchalant tone. But she wanted to know. 

"Someone you trust will break your trust."

Clarissa scoffed in disbelief. 

Greshinda grabbed her hand all of a sudden, surprising her. She ran her fingers down her palm and made lines on it as she drew on the ones imprinted there. 

"Your future holds much darkness but only you can stop it. So much death will be wreaked and the soils of the earth shall be stained with much blood."

Her grip had gotten extremely strong. Clarissa tried to pull away but her hand was firmly grasped. "What are you talking about?!"

Greshinda raised her head up and Clarissa's eyes widened to see her pupils gone. "A wrong choice will be our doom but if both come together and your heart chooses the path of light. Then perhaps we might be saved. Or that itself could be our doom."

Clarissa stood up, knocking over the chair.
