Ryu's POV

Since I'm still a prisoner I live back at the cabin I built with Aneko. I had to clean up the shit Ada broke when she barged in while Aneko just watched me.

"Is something wrong?" asked Aneko

"No, I'm fine." I replied

"Your face says otherwise." commented Aneko

I looked at her then back at the floor. I sighed and dug my fingers into my hair and messed it up.

"I just... want to talk to Ada." I replied

Aneko's facial expression darkened a bit.

"Oh..." she simply replied

"Sorry, I didn't mean to ruin your mood." I said

She just shook her head, got up and left the room. I sighed and sat on a chair and I thought about the time we were on our first date. I sighed and teleported on the mountain we were on at night to stargaze. I looked up at the night sky and sighed as I took out a cigarette and started smoking.

'This was our first date and the first time I started smoking.'

I sat there and I teleported onto the MVA carrier and pulled myself into the void. I floated through the carrier and looked for Ada but I couldn't find her. I was about to give up when I remembered that Aiden was here in the prison system.

I made my way towards the prison system and I saw Ada there talking with Aiden. My heart sank when I heard Ada, the real Ada I've known, giggle in front of Aiden. She never did that to me, even the alternate version giggled in front of me.

'Life is so unfair.'

I didn't really want to watch anymore so I snapped out of the void and back into my body. I quickly teleported away but this time I went into hell. I haven't been here in a while so it felt somewhat refreshing to be back here. I entered the castle and walked down the hallways until I got to the room Ada and I normally make love.

I opened the door and entered the room to see that it was still the same. Nothing changed nor was anything added in this room. I looked at the bed and I began having flashbacks of the times we had fun here, in this room.

I left the room and made my way throughout the hallways again in the castle until I passed by that door. I looked at the two giant doors leading to the room where Ada kept all of her plans when she tried to take the Matrix.

I opened the doors and it was dark so I lit my entire body on fire, my clothes still intact and not burning. The room lit up from the fire and I saw that there was nothing in this room and I sighed as I looked up at the wall where there used to be that huge map of the multiverse.

"Ryu?"

I turned around and saw Ada standing there confused.

"Oh... I didn't sense you coming." I sighed, "Sorry I'll get going."

"What are you doing here?" asked Ada

"I'm... I just wanted to come visit this place you know." I replied

I shut off the flames around me and quickly left the room but Ada grabbed my arm.

"Are you... okay?" she asked

"I'm fine, I just wanted to visit this place again." I partially lied

"You're lying." said Ada

I looked at her then at her arm and I gently pulled away.

"Sorry..." I apologized

"What are you apologizing for?" asked Ada

I stayed silent and just shook my head.

"I just... can't understand how you love him." I sighed

Ada stayed quiet and just looked away.

"I-I went through shit with him that's why." said Ada

"What kind of shit?" I asked

"I can't tell you that." replied Ada, "I mean... I'm not comfortable."

My heart exploded in pain and I just clutched it and rubbed it but I didn't show any emotions on my face.

"Okay I understand." I replied, "I'll get going."

Ada looked like she wanted to say something but she just nodded so I teleported back into the cabin and I just collapsed on the floor and leaned against the bed and began crying. I covered my mouth and suppressed my cries so that Aneko wouldn't hear me. I grit my teeth and massaged the part of my heart as it hurt so much. I gasped for air multiple times and wiped my tears but I kept crying.

Aneko's POV

I was leaning against the wall outside of his room and listened to him crying.

'Why does he like you Ada?'

I decided not to be creepy so I went into his room and he gasped and quickly wiped his tears, jumped into his bed and hid his face.

"H-hey..." he said, his voice quivering

I decided to forget about the whole Ada thing so I just went into his blankets and hugged him.

"It's okay to cry." I said as I hugged him

One day later

Ryu's POV

I watched as Kishimoto helped Hannah with hand to hand combat.

"He's a good teacher." Hannah told me

"I know he helped me with it as well." I replied

Kishimoto continued teaching Hannah but then I saw Ada and Aiden working together at the corner of my eye.

"Oi Ryu." called out Kishimoto

"Huh?" I replied

Kishimoto looked at Hannah and she looked like she was having a headache.

"Suddenly?" I questioned

She nodded and my eyes slightly widened when I saw her right eye glow a bit.

"And this eye kind of hurts." said Hannah

"Do you see anything uhh strange or distinct?" I asked

"No." she replied

"Symbols?" I questioned

She shook her head so I scratched my head a bit.

"This is going to be a bit frustrating." I sighed

"Ryu we have trouble." called out Ada

"Okay, Aneko let's go." I said

"No she's staying I'm coming with you." said Ada

"What? Under whose command?" asked Aneko

"Kurt's command." replied Ada

They both glared at each other so I stepped in.

"Aneko don't make this a big deal." I said, "Orders are orders."

She looked at me surprised, but then her expression quickly changed to anger, and she stormed off.

"Let's go, we're going to a bug world." said Ada

"A what?" I questioned in fear

But instead of replying she wrapped us with her black mist and we teleported onto this flat plain rocky earth.

"Damn, this earth stinks." I commented

"Why aren't you wearing your MVA gear?" asked Ada

"Cause I'm still a prisoner." I replied

"But you have your watch." replied Ada

"Right... just to check the time." I replied

Ada just rolled her eyes but then I felt something rush up to us from behind so I turned around and froze whatever was coming after us. When I saw what it was I was disgusted and I slightly freaked out.

"What the fuck is that?" I shrieked

There was a human figure but it had a fucking cockroach type of structure. Its face was formed in a really weird way, it looked human combined with a monkey and a horse. But it's body was big, muscular and he was tall. (Terra formars)

"Terra formars." said Ada, "This one is a cockroach."

"What the fuck happened?" I asked

"This world tried to terraform Mars for 500 years but they discovered these things. Humanoid insects which were affected by the results of terraforming Mars." said Ada

"I see." I sighed, "But why are we here?"

"This world is about to fall, that's why?" replied Ada making it sound obvious

"Are you serious? We have a lot more important things on hand and this is what we're doing?" I asked

"It's a mission, an easy one." replied Ada

"Okay okay fine." I sighed

I grabbed the cockroach's head and just squashed it, its blood juices spilling out.

"Eww fucking disgusting." I whined

"Geez such a baby." commented Ada

"Shut up." I snapped

Ada shut her mouth.

"Why are you so different now?" I questioned

"Cause a lot of shit happened the past few years." replied Ada

"Right.." I sighed, "Well it's in the past. We can forget about it and move on."

"I don't want to really talk about it." she said

Even though she didn't want to, I wanted to talk about it with her since it was on my chest for a long time.

"Let's finish the mission and go home." said Ada

"Right." I sighed in sadness

I placed my hand on the rocky ground and using my matrix and I checked out how many bugs there were.

"There's a-"

Out of nowhere the ground underneath us exploded and we began falling down into a hole but Ada and I stopped falling.

"What the hell..." I groaned

But then I saw a bunch of humanoid cockroaches on the walls staring at me.

"Oh shit..." groaned Ada

"Use your flames." I said

Ada and I exploded into fire, hers was black and mine was blue. The cockroaches all launched towards us but we exploded our flames into the hole and all the cockroaches began burning.

"Screw this, I'm going to use the Matrix." I groaned

I activated my Matrix and exploded every single bug living on this earth.

"We're done." I said

"Let's go home." said Ada

I nodded but just as I was about to open up a portal I heard clapping.

"Oh... did you guys make up and start dating again?" I heard my voice

I looked up and saw alternate Ryu with alternate Ada on the edge of the hole. I floated up with Ada and landed on the opposite side of the hole from them.

"Why are you here?" I asked

"I just want to talk, that's all." said alternate Ryu, "Just the two of us."

"About what?" I asked

"Let's just say I'm trying to learn why you're defending this multiverse." said alternate Ryu

I sighed and nodded but then Ada grabbed my arm.

"Ryu I don't think that's a good idea." said Ada

"Stay here, back me up when something goes wrong." I said

She nodded and followed behind me as I walked around the hole to meet up with him.

"I suppose you have reasons." I said, "I'll listen for now."

He smiled and nodded but then alternate Ada drew her sword and blocked Ada's path.

"Stay here." said alternate Ada

Ada was about to attack but I shook my head so she sighed and nodded.

"You must be wondering why I'm doing such a thing." said alternate Ryu

"I already kind of know." I replied

I took out a pack of cigarettes and started smoking one.

"I was given the power of the Matrix, doesn't that mean I'm technically the king of the multiverse?" asked alternate Ryu

"No, not really." I replied

"But think about it, you're the most powerful being in the entire multiverse. Who could dare stand up against you?" asked alternate Ryu

"That's not the point, the point is about how the others living in the multiverse would feel." I replied

"Why do you care about how they feel?" asked alternate Ryu, "Look around you Ryu."

I looked around but there was nothing.

"Not literally." he replied

"Oh." I simply replied

"But think about the people around you. They never accepted you for who you truly are. They only accepted you because of your powers." said alternate Ryu

"No they didn't, you're just..."

I trailed off as I thought about it more and more. He was right, Lydia and Kishimoto didn't really care about my troubles since they sided with Ada a lot more than me. They're only there as... work partners.

"Look at Ada." said alternate Ryu, "She betrayed you."

"Look I get it your point-"

"See, part of you agrees with me but the other part doesn't. Why? Because I'm you and you're me." said alternate Ryu, "If you didn't have your powers, if you weren't who you are right now, you would still be a nobody."

I looked at him then at the ground.

"You and I both don't want countless lives to die off when we can just talk about this." said alternate Ryu, "Whether you like it or not we were given the powers of the matrix and that's not a coincidence."

We stared at each other for a few seconds.

"No one, not the gazillion living beings out in the multiverse were chosen. We were chosen to become gods." said alternate Ryu

"Gods... I hate being called that." I said

Alternate Ryu laughed a bit and nodded.

"Sure I won't say that but you get my point." said alternate Ryu

He patted my shoulder and walked away.

"Let me know your decision. You know how to contact me." said alternate Ryu

And with that they left.
