CHAPTER 45: A DATE WITH MAXIM

Arianna couldn't sleep the night before after arriving at the hotel, so she turned and turned, and when that didn't work, she went into the system space to do some missions.

She wanted to leave something for her man to remember her by. It was unexpected, but she was well aware of her emotions. What if she's a lady? Is it necessary for her to wait an eternity to confess her feelings to the person she loves?

Even if it fails in the future, she will not be left with any deep regrets because she will have done her best to pursue her happiness. Because she couldn't sleep, she decided to use the leftover fabrics from the last time she made her parents hankies.

She deliberated over what she wanted to embroider before deciding on one. Maxim was mysterious, masculine, and noble in her eyes. She only spoke to him for about twenty minutes, but the vibe he gave off was scarier than her father's.

So, for the next few hours, Arianna stitch by stitch embroidered a dragon that covered half of the square-shaped white handkerchief. She didn't mind how numb and painful her fingers were.

All she could think about was how touched he would be when he received this gift from her. She took a very long time to finish her master piece because the time flow in the system space was slightly exaggerated.

It was already morning when she emerged from the system space, so she prepared for the day.

She took out her phone and lingered while looking at Maxim's contact in her phone. She wanted to call him and ask for a meeting because she couldn't see him yesterday due to the shambles at Nadia's banquet.

She was also concerned that if she called him, he would find her irritating. She was in a bind and didn't know what to do. But the universe appeared to be on her side when she received an incoming call from Maxim while she was procrastinating.

Not wanting to keep him waiting, she quickly swiped her phone to answer, her voice trembling as she said, "Hie."

On the other end of the line, Maxim couldn't help but raise the corners of his mouth. He could tell the little girl was both happy and worried. After all, it was a good idea to call the little girl.

[Good morning, how are you?]

"It's fine now that you've called. "I didn't sleep well," Arianna exclaimed, closing her mouth with her small hands. How could she say such a thing?

[What were you up to?]

"I'll let you know if I see you. Can we meet before I leave tomorrow?" Finally, she couldn't help herself and asked the older man out.

Maxim smiled as he smoked his cigarette while looking at his phone, which was placed hands-free on the desk in his study.

Arianna quickly agreed and sent the address after hearing that he agreed before hanging up to prepare for the date.

Arianna began to dig deeper into her suitcase until she found a sky-blue dress that fell just below the knees. This was a dress she purchased during her shopping trip to this new location.

She fell in love with the dress as soon as she saw it on the hanger. It was simple, not complicated like other designs, and it was also very inexpensive, in comparison to her other clothes.

She later discovered that the shop, as well as the brand, were both new, and that few people were aware of them. That was the kind of cheap she meant in comparison to her usual prices.

She accessorized the sky-blue gown with blue-black sandals, a diamond pendant, and drop diamond earrings. She didn't want to overdress, but she also wanted to look her best for her man, so she was caught in a bind.

The hour was approaching, so Arianna stuffed the freshly made hankie into her purse, stuffed her phone inside, and prepared to leave.

Her bodyguards were already outside, and seeing her well-dressed, they were curious as to what she was up to this time.

"I am going on my first date today, so please be on your best behavior," Arianna told them, surprising them all.

When did she get a boyfriend when they had always been by her side?

"Young lady, this... shouldn't we look into him a little to see what kind of person he is? We don't want anything bad to happen to you," the female bodyguard said after a moment of thought.

Arianna didn't think this was rude because she understood their concerns, but she patted the other on the shoulder and said, "I may have had some bad taste in the past, but trust me on this one." I think I've found a great fish for myself, and if it doesn't work out, that's the end of it. It's not like I'm planning a wedding."

They simply tagged along because they saw how determined their young lady was, but among themselves, they decided to look into this person. They didn't want to see Arianna duped or approached for ulterior motives.

Arianna was humming a tune as the elevator took her to the lounge. She walked out of the hotel, her hat covering half of her face, and waited for her man to arrive and pick her up.

She didn't have to wait long before she noticed a familiar figure approaching her. The bodyguards all felt threatened when they saw the man approaching their young lady, but because she was so shy, they all knew it had to be the man.

They mentally noted that this man was not to be trifled with, and their vigilance against him grew at the same time.

"Sorry for making you wait, I was parking the car in the parking lot," Maxim apologized softly as he came to a halt in front of Arianna, whose face had turned a bright beet red.

"I just came out myself, so there's no need. What are we going to do?"

"I found the ideal location for you. Would you like to take my car or yours?" Arianna was pleased because she could hear Maxim's concern.

Arianna wanted to accept Maxim for who he was, and even if he was hiding something from her, she didn't think too much about it because she, too, had secrets.

She wanted to prove to him that she wanted to be with him even if he wasn't a noble, which she doubted.
