A Conversation With Natasha

"Now, with that settles, I have a proposition to offer the both of you." Zeta spoke. The two girls looked at him.

"Both of you are quite strong... however, that strength is wasted on the both of you." He insulted.

"If you'd like, I'll train the both of you. Gwen, you are quite strong, but you only ever fight common thugs that don't know the first thing about fighting, you're simply much stronger and faster than them. And Jennifer, you're quite different from the Hulk. You aren't as strong but you have intelligence and you're faster." Zeta informed them while stirring a cup of hot chocolate.

He wanted to train the two of them in order to experiment with the system. Technically, it would be due to his influence that they get stronger and solve a problem faster or easier, so he may get some points out of it. And of course, getting more tools would be beneficial.

"I'll do it." Gwen didn't think for too long before agreeing. Peter was much stronger than her, not only because he's been a superhero for longer, but he even has connection with the Avengers. She wanted to catch up.

Hearing this, Zeta nodded and began scrolling through his phone. He didn't have a training room or anything in his house, so buying a facility dedicated towards it would be helpful.

"I'd like to think about it before answering." Jennifer replied. She was still quite confused about Zeta's place in this whole superhero business. From what she could tell, Gwen knew something she didn't. Because all she could see was a handsome man that could act like an assistant of sorts.

"Sure, here's my number, call me if and when you want to join." He slid over a piece of paper; his number already written on it.

He then left the café, leaving the two infant superheroes to awkwardly stare at each other for a while before leaving themselves.

It was about 7pm at night when Zeta's phone lit up. Looking at it, he found that Natasha had messaged him.

'Meet me at XXX.' Was all it said. The unfamiliar number was somehow already saved as 'Natasha'.

Not to keep a pretty lady waiting, Zeta hopped to his feet and got ready. Once again, he was confronted with the fact that he needed to get a car as he took 15mins to walk there.

He saw the building that Natasha told him of. He had expected literally anything other than a skyscraper to meet his eyes. He truly didn't expect her to meet him in a skyscraper, perhaps the least inconspicuous place in the city.

Despite his annoyance, he walked through the automatic glass doors and was greeted with a lavish interior.

The receptionist nodded at him and stood up, directing him to an elevator.

Once he had entered, she pressed on the number '54' and the elevator started to rise. The interior of the elevator and the smooth jazz elevator music leaked the aura of a royal building.

After a minute or so of waiting, the elevator doors opened up and Zeta was signaled by the receptionist to enter the floor.

He entered to see a hot assassin with an obviously expensive dress sitting on a luxurious couch with a wine glass in her hand. She was looking up at the massive T.V. that was built into the wall as it showed top secret information. Spotting Zeta enter the room, she rid the screen of the information and it started to play some music for them.

"It took you a while, I was about ready to go to sleep." She complained.

"Unfortunately, I'm not able to buy a vehicle without a license." He shrugged his shoulders.

"Thankfully you don't need a license to pilot a private spaceship." She giggled.

"Speaking of the ship, what's the progress on it?" He questioned.

"In production. He seemed to enjoy the challenge that was presented to him. However, it's almost certain that he'll want to use it before anyone." Natasha informed.

"That's fine. If it's fast enough, he can join me on the trip to Mars. I don't plan on being there for too long my first time." Zeta explained.

"May I ask more about your race?" She asked.

"Anything for a pretty lady." He wore a smile.

"You speak of space travel as if it isn't a big deal. Is your kind intergalactic? And how did you even end up here?" Natasha asked.

"My kind... I'll have to re-build. We were the best of the best, military-wise. We conquered as many as 1,000,000 planets. Unfortunately, we expanded so aggressively that other inter-galactic races took notice. And that's when we were completely blindsided, an explosion so large that it destroyed the galaxy. I don't know what caused it, but I was the only survivor. I have reason to suspect that I have travelled far into the future in a different galaxy." Was the excuse Zeta came up with. It contradicted somewhat with what he told Felicia, but he can simply tell her he wasn't entirely sure later.

This was the excuse he'd stick with for the rest of his stay here. There were a couple things he wasn't able to take into account when making his previous story up. This new story, made sure that no aliens could prove him wrong, as no race he knows of has been around since the start of the universe. It will also excuse him for understanding more about time travel than the rest of the Avengers when Endgame comes around should he slip up or if he wants to speed things along.

"So, you're going to Mars in order to rebuild?" She asked. She was definitely curious about the history of his race and such however, the present takes precedence.

"Yes. I don't wish to consume all the resources on this planet before the rest of you humans are able to leave." Zeta replied.

"And how exactly will you rebuild by yourself?" She inquired.

"It's quite simply really. I can summon a select few of my most loyal subjects. Most of them are women, so with time, we'll be able to regain our population. And in order to avoid inbreeding, we can copulate with humans." He spoke with a smile. Telling her about his ability to summon would help in explaining his 'Troops' later as well.

This new story could easily be converted from his own one and would explain a couple of things that would happen in the future. He was even able to bypass Natasha's 'lie detection' by using mostly-truths. Any lie he throws in would be mixed in with the truth of the universe of Warhammer 40k.

"Why would you even tell me this? What if I break our agreement after hearing about how much of a threat you are?" Natasha asked.

"Because you aren't stupid enough to do that." He smiled. "If there's one enemy you never want to make, it's me." Zeta spoke as a neon green blade rested against Natasha's neck. M'Shen appeared behind her to threaten on his cue.

She always came earlier than midnight. Mostly so there isn't a possibility for her to be late. It also doubled down as a way to let Zeta enjoy her body for long before she gave the reports. Anyway, M'Shen made sure to follow Zeta from even before he stepped foot into the building. Once he spoke about making enemies, she understood that it was her time to reveal herself.

Natasha was shocked. She was the best assassin on the planet, but even she couldn't notice or hear the woman behind her until she was ready to reap her life.

"I already spoke of my loyal subjects. M'Shen is one of them." He beckoned her. The Callidus assassin calmly walked over to Zeta and waited for orders. "She is the best assassin our empire had to offer. You are the best assassin on Earth. However, M'Shen can do anything you can but many times better." He praised her.

M'Shen secretly held a bit of pride in her heart. Even after killing Konrad Curze, she wasn't celebrated. The Imperium didn't reward her, they simply lamented the fact that a primarch had to be killed. That's simply how the imperium worked. However, her new master, that was blessed by the Emperor himself had praised her. No amount of brainwashing from the imperium could take basic human emotions, despite how much they tried to suppress them.

"How long has she been here?" Natasha question and put a hand to her neck. She was now on-guard and ready to fight if she needs to.

"Since the beginning. But no worries, I just needed to make sure you didn't go back on your word. If I wanted you dead, you wouldn't have the chance to regret it. I'll reveal myself to the rest of you heroes when I'm ready. Have a good day." Zeta smiled as he entered the elevator with M'Shen who mysteriously merged back with the shadows.
