The First

Camilla’s POV

Beep, beep, beep, beep!

“Urgh, please will you just extend the wake-up time please God. I haven’t slept enough just yet. “I whined so loudly to my annoying alarm. I mean I know that I am the one who set it but does it really have to be this annoying? I better stop whining like a 3-year-old and get myself ready for college. So I went straight to the bathroom to get ready for my first day at college. Shoot! I am starting college today, oh my God Oh my God! I hope I don’t trip on the stairs, or spill tea on somebody, or basically just fall on my butt like they do in movies! “Oh no, I am panicking this is not good Camilla, you are smart and strong. This day will go exactly as you planned.”

After my usual encouraging mantra in the bathroom, I quickly run downstairs to prepare breakfast for everyone. So I decided to go with aunt Simple’s favorite just to avoid ruining my day early in the morning if you know what I mean. Within 10 minutes after breakfast, everyone was ready to start their day. Derek was waiting for me at the main gate so I hurried there to stop him from complaining about me getting him late for work.

“Geez Derek, its 7, and your work starts at 9 today, so what’s the hurry?” I whined while getting into the passage seat.

“I like being there an hour before, I mean I hate rushing you know that Cami. What were you busy doing up in your room anyway?” Derek said in a boring tone. I just rolled my eyes, I mean it’s just natural for women to take longer getting ready. Of course, he wouldn’t know that because his girlfriend Ella is the most punctual person that I have ever know. The silence in the car was so comforting with the sound of Taylor Swift’s Wildest dreams in the background so I decided to look out the window. Oh wow, this city is beautiful, look at those mountains up there, and the morning breeze, hmmm! I just closed my eyes to let the wind blow in my face. This is so magnificent, those who told stories about how mesmerizing this city is didn’t do justice to it, I mean wow, just wow. Just then I heard Derek calling my name.

“Derek, is this the college? Please tell me it is!” I asked Derek impatiently and he giggled.

“Yes, Cami. This is the campus. You are going to study in the most prestigious high institution and we have you and you alone to thank for getting that scholarship. I am so proud of you sweet cheeks.” Doris said with so much emotions that I almost started crying. I mean I know I only got a chance to study here because I got amazing grades in high school that earned me this scholarship but I surely never expected it to be this classy. Everything is of a high standard here, Caroline will surely love this.

After Derek dropped me off I went straight to my first class that was on the 6th floor of the Engineering building and just when I was about to open the door someone else from the inside beat me to it hit me right in the face. I fell on my butt and let out a loud agonizing groan. I am sure if it was some other girl she probably might have cried, but I am not just a girl I am CAMILLA UDINOV, I don’t just shed tears for petty things like this. I am stronger than this, I convinced myself internally. I inspected my elbow and it was bleeding a little, just then I look up and find the most enticing brown eyes I have ever seen. His jaw was so sharp that I was so tempted to run my finger along it…and his lips, curved into the most dazzling and sincere apologetic smile I have ever come across. It was like the whole world stopped, just me and him in the hallway staring at each other as we have just discovered the most enticing secret in each other’s eyes. Wait…. Camilla, you are seeing things, he is not real, and since when did I even start to find guys adorable,no, no. I will just close my eyes and when I open them there will be just me with my butt on the floo…

“Where have you been all my life, Princess .” He whispered in the most eluding voice ever.
