Third person’s POV
When the girls took seats at their table with the boys they started making small talks as they waited for their order. Everyone was in their own thoughts. Caroline was already picturing how beautiful these two’s babies will be. And the wedding, a very glad occasion with all the celebrities she had only seen on TV. She couldn’t help it, after all, she was a helpless romantic and so single at that, a very depressing thought in her dictionary if you ask me.
It’s so true when they say that time decides who we meet in life, your heart decides who you want in your life and your behavior decides who will stay in your life. At that moment alone, Doris saw his future in Camilla, while Camilla saw her first crush and her first date. In Jack’s inquisitive mind, there was just one thought and one worry, that one day hell will break loose and his friend and his love will be the ones to end up with broken hearts for sure. It was so crystal clear that Doris was so into this woman, and he totally gets why because the brunette before him is every guy’s definition of a perfect wife and a mother to one’s children. He hates himself for ending this but he has to before things get out of hand. He will save both of them from their doomed relationship before it even begins. It was so obvious that if they happen to pass through Tia’s thick head then society will not spare them. Jack has to do something but exactly what?
“Jack, earth to Jack?!?” Doris interjected with his friend‘s thoughts.
“Sorry man, I was daydreaming about my dearest mother preparing my favorite pie for his one and only ME” he teased slyly. The girls were in stitches while Doris just shook his head at his friend’s unbelievable behavior.
“What a mamma‘s boy you are Mr. Thanes? You are out at lunch with your friends and all you are thinking about is your mom’s homemade pie? Classic” Caroline couldn’t help but comment on it. Just when she thought the guy was one of those snobs and ‘I am Mr. Perfect’ he threw that sly comment that proved her wrong. Just fabulous, she thought with a toothy smile.
“That I am Miss Caroline! Do you mind getting some air outside with me? Because I know someone was just a second away from shooing us out if you know who!” Jack deadpanned while giving Doris his I got you smirk. Doris narrowed his eyes at him and the girls chuckled at their amusing exchange.
“Please lead the way” Caroline exchanged while squeezing her friend’s hand wishing her good luck.
“So, your friend is quite….”
“A character? Yeah, sometimes I think he probably hit his head on a very big tree when he was a toddler to be that dramatic all the time.” Doris interjected Camilla playfully and she huffed.
“Good to know that I am not the only one to blessed with a friend of those traits. God must love us so much.” Camilla stressed with a playful gleam in her eyes. Doris just gave her a very amusing grin.
“Thank you so much for accepting my date, I highly appreciate it. I must say, I was so sure you were going to say no,” Doris said while placing his hand on Camilla’s one that was on the table. They were both surprised at the fact that every time they touch skin to skin electric sparks is produced. So they both looked down at their hands with wide eyes and each pulled their hands to themselves as if they just got burned. It was such a weird yet amiable moment for both of them.
“l…I couldn’t say no! I mean I wanted to, what I mean is” she stuttered while looking down at her hands with embarrassment. At that moment she wishes only for one thing, for the ground to swallow her whole to escape this awkwardness. What the hell just happened?
“Hey, I get it, Princess.” He encouraged. He was so pleased to know that he was not the only one who is always affected by their closeness and Camilla‘s now heated face is to thank for that.
“So tell me more about yourself. I want to know everything about you.” Doris said while leaning his back on his chair in a very comfortable move.
“The last time I checked, you knew half of my personal info without me telling and we have Google to thank for that. So I don’t really see the use of that, or do you now Mr. Robson?” She teased while seeping her favorite mango juice. When she looked at Doris his face was plastered with a wide amused grin.
“That’s quite smooth Princess but how about we start over again?” he asked
“I would but there’s really nothing much more to know about me.” She answered honestly
“How about your childhood?” he asked with so much interest
“I grew up as an only child, with my parents. I was raised in the small village on the northern side and that’s where I schooled till my junior years. I went to continue with my secondary years at Spencer High which is in our hometown and then here I am at college.” She narrated
“That’s quite a journey. It must be very interesting growing up in a village” he asked with so much interest in his eyes.
“Yes it’s quite interesting to a person who is not used to the lifestyle there but I grew up there so that’s my normal and my home. So where did you grow up?” she asked
“I grew up here and then I went to the UK at 15 and then came back here at 19,” he said in a boring tone as if going to the UK was nothing.
“Now, that’s interesting! Tell me more.” Camilla said while rearranging her seating position so she could lean forward to listen carefully. Doris raised his eyebrows and chuckled in amusement. After talks of who likes what Doris decided to drop her home.
