ALEX’S POV

"Bryan? You are Mr. Lee of SK Telecom?"

He smirked. "The one and only."

Oh my! I didn’t expect this thing to happen. I didn’t think that Bryan’s surname is Lee, plus their family business main office is in Korea, so that he may be ‘Mr. Lee’ of SK Telecom?! Stupid Alex!

He grins. “Are you okay, Ms. Ramirez?”

I tried to calm myself first before I turn to him and speak.

“Yes, I’m okay, Mr. Lee thanks for asking. Anyway, thanks for coming here. We are thrilled that finally, we have this opportunity to show you our brand. After that production number, you will now see the upcoming units of Sapphire.” I said in a formal tone.

"Why are you so formal, Alex? That is not you!” He said in a teasing tone.

I rolled my eyes. "We are talking about business here, Mr. Lee."

"Yes, I know, but I would prefer if you will just call me Bryan or even grandpa." He said, then gave me a wink.

I tried my best to keep myself from smiling.

I need to control myself and try to look as professional as possible, even if deep inside I want to punch this guy. He is connected to SK Telecom, and he did not even help me set an appointment with them. He knew how much I wanted to get this account.

I gave him a forced smile. “Okay, if that is what you want, Bryan. I will leave you here with Janet she is our Account Manager. She will be the one who will handle your account.”

"Yes, she told me that a while ago. And she also mentioned that you want to set a meeting with me.” He formally said.

"Yes, Bryan, but I'm afraid I will not be able to attend the meeting. Janet will be the one to meet you and will discuss our proposal with you.”

I saw his brow raised. "May I ask why?"

"I won't be available for the whole week." That is a lie.

"Is that so? I think I won't be available this week neither." Then he smirked.

I glared at him. “Seriously, Bryan?!”

This brute! Why is he making things hard for me?!

“Yes. My schedule is already full. But if you will be the one who will attend the meeting, I may cancel my meeting to meet you.” Then he grins.

"BRYAN! " I said while giving him a warning stare.

He laughs at me. “Look, Alex, I am serious here. You know how busy I am with my work. I’m handling our family business and also SK Telecom. But you know that when it comes to you, I can cancel everything no matter how important that meeting is.” Then he winks at me.

I felt blushed, so I lower my head for them not to see me blush. I don’t want them to know that I am affected by Bryan’s teasing, especially since Janet is here with us. She knew that Bryan is Liz’s ex-boyfriend.

Until now, I can’t still believe that Bryan will be the one who will manage SK Telecom. I don’t know if I will be happy about it or not.

“Hey sis, are you okay? Do you have a problem?” Liz asks me in a worried tone.

“Ha? What did you say?”

“You are spacing out again, sis. Are you okay?” She asked me again.

“Nothing. I am surprised that Bryan will be the one who will manage the SK Telecom.” I honestly told her.

She frowned. “Yes, I’m also surprised when I find that out. But aren’t you supposed to be happy? You guys are close! So I am 100% sure that finally, we will close a deal with SK!”

“Yes, I should be happy, but the thing is, I am avoiding him now,” I confessed to her.

She frowned again. “Why are you avoiding him?”

I rolled my eyes. “Isn’t obvious?! Of course, because you guys already broke up!”

She laughs at me. “Wait a minute! I am the one who broke up with him. But why are you so affected as if you are the one who broke up with him?!”

I was stunned. “What are you saying?”

“Because what I know is, I am his ex-girlfriend, but I never avoided him. But you resort to that idea?!” Then she shook her head.

“Oh, is that what you mean?”

“Why? Is there any other reason?” She asked me.

I shake my head. “No. Nothing.”

She just shrugged. “But you tell me the truth. Is there something going on between you and Bryan?”

“What are you saying? Nothing is going on between Bryan and me! You are my best friend, Liz, and I will never do such a thing to you!” I said defensively.

I suddenly closed my mouth. I sound so defensive. But I am just telling her the truth. Nothing is going on between Bryan and me. That is why I am avoiding him to prevent myself from being in that kind of situation.

She chuckled. "I know, sis. If you think of what happened to our friends when we were in college, then remember that I am not like them. I know you well. And also, it is not your fault that those guys fell for you. You are very easy to love, Alex.” She told me sincerely.

I feel touched by what she said. “Thanks, sis, but I am getting goosebumps with what you said. Don’t tell me you are turning into a homosexual and you are starting to like me?”

She laughed at me. “Crazy! What I mean is that you don’t need to avoid Bryan because of me. Because no matter what happens, if we are meant to be with each other, we will eventually end up together. If not, then so be it. Maybe God only used me to be a bridge for you two to meet.” She said, then gave me a forced smile.

After Liz said that, she said goodbye to me. But I can still see in her eyes that she is not yet over him.

This is all Bryan’s fault.
