Chapter Seventeen: Beginning

"Great, you're cool there," said Lucian.

Suddenly, Elize looked towards Lucian's seat. Elize pressed hard on the brake and the car almost rolled over. Lucian was also shocked by what happened and went back to being invisible.

Elize looked in the passenger seat, but the man sitting next to her was gone.

"What is that?" Elize said into the air.

She looked around the car but saw no one else in the car except her.

She was struck by a blow to the window of the car. East frowned while standing outside the vehicle. She immediately opened the car's door and came out of it. She went around the car, but there was no one there.

"What happened El?" asked East, watching Elize with confusion. "I waved, but you ignored me, so I had to chase the car and you slammed on the brakes."

Holding Elize's head, she noticed that East's handsome face was sweating as if he had been chasing her.

"I'm sorry, I'm just fuzzy," said Elize.

East was holding Elize's hand. "You're not all right. What happened?"

Elize looked East, and she couldn't tell East what she saw. Without getting an answer from Elize, he grabbed Elize's shoulder and pushed her slightly closer to the car door and then put it inside.

Lucian sat in the back seat. East and Elize kept quiet till they reached Elize's home. Elize immediately exited the car and ran inside the home. East's been watching her.

"Who are you? I've seen you around, I know you're in here. ” Said Elize

Lucian was standing by Elize's bed and was watching her. She's a little shaky, too.

'You have a strong intuition, Elize!' said Lucian.

"El, is something going on?"

Elize turned East as he stood in the doorway holding the doorknob.

"Stay here, let's drink," Elize said as she went into the bathroom.

A smile spread on East lips then he left the door and took his phone.

"Horrible, they added so many souls to the Black Card!" Dark complained and then opened the shower in the bathroom.

The eight black cards held by Dark were increased by almost fifteen due to the unexpected large encounter.

'He's making trouble, he's going to torture me again,' thought Dark.

Dark had been in the bathroom about an hour or so. When he came out, he spotted a man standing on the porch of his bedroom. He looked at him with a grin.

"You are enjoying a long bath." He said to Dark

Dark raised his brow. He was standing next to the bathroom door, bare-chested and his lower body wrapped in a towel. Dark combed damp hair with his hand.

"How did you know I was here?" questioned Dark.

Dark walked into the drawer and took his clothes.

"I went with you." said the man.

Dark was silent, the man turned around the room.

"Are you the only one here?" he asked.

"Tell me, Aza, why should you interfere with my mission again?" Dark asked.

Dark was already wearing Sando and sleeping pants. He approached the man on the veranda, who had not acted since before. Aza is 50 years younger than Dark.

Aza chuckled. "It's my job to get involved, right?"

"What do you need?" Dark asked

He turned his back on Aza and walked closer to the bed. Sit there and pick up the remote. He wants to watch his favourite football game. Aza came into the room and stood beside the bed.

"I just want to check out your house," said Aza.

Aza looked through the room. The inner paint of the wall is dark colours, the curtains are black. The quilt and bed linen is white, the television is 72 inches attached to the wall.

"How much is your place?" asked Aza.

"If you don't buy, then don't ask," said Dark.

Aza just laughed. "You can't tell that tomorrow we'll be neighbours."

Dark just took a peek at Aza and watched what he was watching.

Aza is one of those fallen angels. Fallen angel means angels that have been expelled from heaven or angels that have sinned. And Aza was among them. However, Azra has already forbidden the fallen angels to intervene in the work of the reapers. But they remain stubborn and continue to interfere in the mission of other angels, particularly the Guardians. They brought confusion to the people who are protected by the Guardians and pushes humans to turn their backs on faith in Boss G.

"Guess what, Dark?" I think I'll have fun interfering with that Guardian Angel's human. She's cool and I know she's going to take advantage of a life-threatening situation in her life." Aza said with a smile.

"Stop bothering them, come on. If you do this, you think it doesn't affect me? If that person dies, I will recover his soul. You can only add to the work I do if you interfere. " said Dark without looking at Aza

Aza laughed and sat on the couch not far from Dark's bed.

"It's pretty exciting, right? Plus, whether I step in or not, some people are dying. I just want to give some excitement to your boring work. " Aza said looking towards Dark

"I'm telling you, you're not allowed to get involved. Find another angel you'll disturb somewhere else, not on my turf." Dark warns Aza.

"All right," said Aza then rose to sit on the couch. "You know, I can find another angel to make trouble with. But until that happens, expect me to be here. I'm going away, it's boring talking with you." Aza laughing and then he's gone.

After Elize had a bath and put on her clothes, she went downstairs. She caught up with East down the stairs. East was wearing a paper bag, looks like East just went out and did some shopping.

"I never knew you were gone," said Elize.

"You said you wanted a drink, so I guess you don't want wine or brandy," said East.

Elize smiles a little. East knows her better than anyone.

They went through the kitchen together. When East put the paper bag on the table Elize immediately caught a bucket of ice and an empty glass for the beer. East caught a cup for the pica-pica he bought. East was seated at the end of the table, and next to him was Elize to the left.

Elize and East just hung out in the kitchen. Minutes later, they ran out of one bottle each and then the East spoke. Elize had no intention of talking, so before falling asleep, East was the first to ask.

“What is the problem, El? Suddenly, you asked me to stay here and drink? ” East asked

“Why? Don't you like it?" Elize asked

East laughed. "Don't tell me you invited me because you know I want to?"

East drank beer. Elize gazed at East. She watched the movement of his Adam's apple while drinking.

"Don't even say you're falling for me now because, without thinking, I'll marry you tomorrow," said East.

"Silly!" replied Elize.

East laughed and ate a pica-pica.

"Then what for?" asked East. "Because of our encounter earlier?"

“How did the police find out about the transactions? I mean, did I see how secure that man was when he told Arturo that he had already paid the police? ” Elize asked

She also thinks that apart from the strange thing she had seen earlier. But she never wanted to say anything to East.

East just shrugged. "You know people like them, they make dirty money, which includes betraying their partners."

"Thank you earlier for backing me up." Said Elize

East chuckled. "Why are you thanking me? We're partners, we're on a mission together. ”

East drinks his beer again, Elize never talks.

East said, “What happened to you earlier? You suddenly became confused? ”

"Do you know any priest?" asked Elize all at once.

“Priest? There's no priest I know. ” Said East. Why are you in need of a priest? You plan on marrying me? ” he joked

Elize looked at East. "I wish to bless the house."

“Okay. Why don't you ask, what was her name again? A friend of yours? I'm sure she knows someone. ” Said East

"I forgot. I'll just go see her later. ” Said Elize

Elize suddenly remembered what he told her when she saw East at school.

“What do you do in the university? What are you talking about with the football coach? ” Elize asked. "What foolish mission are you talking about?"

East laughed. "I'm already one of our college's most famous football players."

Elize frowned. "What's that supposed to mean?"

"I'll replace the position left by Jahmar." Said East.

“How did that happen,” Elize asked.

"Thanks to Dark Phoenix. The mission will be a lot easier if we're together every hour. ” Said East

"Your idea sucks," says Elize.

East chuckled and drank beer.
