Meeting Hermione

"Excuse me, has anyone seen a toad?" A girl's voice disturbed Joe's mind and broke his concentration even after he made a bloody effort to ignore Harry and Ron. The package then fell, losing a balance from his hand.

Harry, Ron, and the girl, Hermione stared at the fallen package for a second before she continued.

"A boy named Neville has lost one." She said.

"No." Ron shook his head with a wand of his in his hand. Saying that gained the attention of the girl who assessing Ron and conclude he was about to use magic.

"Oh, are you doing magic? Let's see then." She asked, making herself at home and sat next to Joe without anyone welcoming her. This ticked Joe off a bit but he endured it. She even purposely said her last sentence arrogantly.

'Why is her behavior more annoying than the movie?' Joe rolled his eyes off her and moved his seat a little to the window.

"Sunshine, Daisy..." While Ron was chanting that useless chant, Joe was trying to think for himself. He had been learning magic from watching people do it successfully but he never tried to do it himself.

'Should I try it?' Joe frowned when seeing Hermione smug face and a bit of a concern when Ron failed to use his magic.

"Are you sure that's a real spell? Well, not very good, is it?" She chuckled and raised her chin a little bit.

"Of course I have tried a simple spell myself but they all work for me." She swung her hair away to the back and went to Harry with broken glasses then took out her wand.

"Example... Oculus Reparo." She said in confidence and everyone could hear the sound of glass creaking and a bit of light spark at the end of Hermione's wand.

"That's better, isn't it?" Hermione said.

Seeing live magic made Harry looked at Ron in shock, he even made eye contact with Joe that shrugged his shoulder.

"Holy cricket! You are Harry Potter. I'm Hermione Granger and you are....?" She turned to Ron and Joe.

"Umm... I'm Ron Weasley." Ron swallowed his last bit of snack to distract himself from her question about him using magic.

"Joe White." Joe answered but still maintaining his smile.

"Nice to meet you." Hermione only looked at Joe rather than Ron and widely smile.

'Fudge, don't look at me. He is your future husband.' Joe stiffly smiled at her.

"Right, you all should better change to your robe. We might be arriving soon." Hermione said before leaving their compartment.

"Bloody bullocks, that woman is annoying." Ron ran his mouth off without a brake.

'Hah! Jokes on you!' Joe said in his mind but kept it for himself.

"Right, I also want to try something." Joe took out his wand. Ron and Harry soon get excited and watching closely.

"Appare Vestigium." Joe then blew his wand like in the movie where Newt Scamander revealed footprints and track.

The notification popped up but Joe only saw a little swirl of gold around him. It is, however, the fashion of the swirl of gold appeared that shocked Ron and Harry.

Unlike the gentle Newt Scamander and his wand. Joe made a bit of spark like an explosion that blew the gold.

"Wow... I did it." Joe said with ignorance. At least he used magic and produced the swirl of gold under his feet that showed their footprints after several times moving their feet.

"You did it, Joe. Huh, Unlike that girl." Ron scuffed in dissatisfaction.

'So, Let's see my status.'

'Ah, shit... I forgot I used it to train my mana manipulation. I don't know how many mana I use for this size of the tracking spell.' Joe sighed in disappointment. He lowered his head until he found his swirl of gold revealed a unique track.

"Eh!?" Joe stood up and quickly crouched down to observe it.
