Dungeon Searching

Heading North, to the Northern North, Mitsuna left the city without being noticed.

She simply teleported outside the walls and walked.

Placing her hands behind her head she thought with a yawn.

'I'm tired. Should have rested more.'

She continued as she thought back to the little battle she was in.

'I need to work on my Skill control and usage. Back then... I think that's sort of called spamming?'

She questioned herself as she closed her eyes for a moment and sighed in slight disappointment.

'When 'I' threw Mizuki out there and turned all my Skills off, the tides suddenly changed. I still have to work on my Techniques since I still have that one moveset that I don't know how to use.'

Looking to the side of the road, she saw a rabbit jump into a bush. Just a thing that happened, nothing much. She continued her line of thought.

''I' managed to pull it off for a moment but it seemed draining. Also, Aura. It doesn't appear much during my battles but it seems useful if I'm ever out of mana.'

Opening her Status, she browsed through it.

'I guess I'll train my Skills at the dungeon. I'll work on the aura matter some other time. As for after I clear the dungeon... well, I've been to the East. How about the West?'

After planning out her next move after the dungeon dive while completely forgetting that she was also supposed to be a teacher at a school, she flew high into the sky using a small amount of wind magic as she sat in the air.

'North isss.... there.'

Using her skill [Horizon], she disappeared far into the distance.

...

Peaking behind a tree, Mitsuna just saw more forest.

'This should be close. I mean, how much can 130 kilometres really be?'

Jumping up on a tree branch, Mitsuna focused her strength as she jumped up into the sky.

Looking at her surroundings and seeing no clear dungeon, she sighed as she dropped back down.

'And here I was. Hoping to get my next Tier Up and move to the West as soon as I can. I was so excited to get some chips or burgers or whatever the West has in this world.'

Kicking a tree only to see it break and fall to the ground, Mitsuna kept making her way South.

That's right. She had overshot her teleportation by a few tens of kilometres.

'There isn't even any big scary monster here.'

Mitsuna pouted while she took off her bandages as her arms were completely healed at that point.

Moving her arms, she grabbed the fallen tree and crushed it in her hand.

'Strength is fine I guess.'

She looked around the dense forest.

'I wish I could just find it and teleport to it.'

As she thought so, she sat down on the broken log.

She sighed.

'Guess it's time to remember a bit about my spell research.'

And so, Mitsuna used an hour or three of her time to remember her usage of mana and spells and redo her tests that she had done back at her dungeon home.

'Okay. So. If I remember right, the basic theories I had come up with were as follows...'

She started to slowly construct a magic circle of the Wind element.

'Spells can do almost anything given you have the knowledge and mana.'

She spun the completed wind magic circle in the air above her finger.

'Spells, magic circles, they are the same thing.'

Activating it, she launched a small blade of wind that travelled like a boomerang through a couple of trees before making its way back to her.

The spell only left hand sized incisions in the trees it travelled through.

'If you try, you could even reproduce the effects of Skills with Spells. Although the mana usage would be larger and the strength would be less.'

Catching the spinning bladed circle of wind with mana, she let it hover between her fingers and thumb.

'If enough mana is inserted...'

She grabbed the spinning blade.

'It can become semi-solid.'

Tightening her grip, it shattered between her fingers as Mitsuna used too much force.

'Besides that, you can also use elements without the use of magic circles. In exchange for faster casting, it loses power and accuracy and it is no longer possible to program specific behaviours into the spell such as automatic activation when stepped on or the like.'

She snapped her fingers and large sharp gusts of wind blew around her, cutting falling leaves in half.

'Thank goodness I did all that research in my last life. Though I do seem a little more dim in this life for some reason. Which is dumb. I'm the same person.'

She started using her Space element to create a magic circle.

'All that was different was my specialization, growing up environment and the people around me and that I was firstly born out of pure mana and had a good connection to it since birth and that I focused largely on using the sword and Techniques on my second go around.'

Completing the circle, she made a small crystal lens pop out of the ground with her Diamond element.

'Basically the same.'

She thought as she placed the magic circle inside of the crystal.

'Okay. Anyway, let's find the damn dungeon, I can revise a bit more during combat.'

She snapped her fingers as the magic circle activated and started to wildly spin, creating a sort of scanner.

A dot in the middle that let out periotic pulses.

It searched for oddities in the earth and ground. It pings when it finds a strange architectural site or any material not counted as common that is found in a large amount.

The pulse kept going until it reached the tip of the crystal, where it pinged slightly and a small dot appeared for a moment.

'What?'

Mitsuna asked.

'But that's the way I've been coming from. Don't tell me I've been methodically backtracking on foot, afraid of teleporting over it again, while my first teleportation actually turned out to be quite close?'

She sighed.

'I really need to revise.'

Standing up, she waited for it to ping again.

As it did, Mitsuna memorized the general direction and kicked the crystal, shattering it completely.

'Alright. I should be able to enter before night.'
